The Overbearing Female Lead is Cool and Dazzling Ch.72

He Lianqing casually came up with an excuse to send Lin Lixuan away, then furrowed her brow as she retrieved several high-grade spirit stones from her storage ring.

She placed the spirit stones on the small white ball and once again probed her body with spiritual energy, guiding her to absorb the spiritual energy from the stones, and assisting her in gradually transforming it into the demonic energy that Su Yanxi needed.

During the process, it was inevitable that a few traces of demonic energy would unintentionally enter her body. He Lianqing endured the pain in her dantian as she assisted Su Yanxi complete the transformation. She watched as the small white ball finally relaxed her expression, then tiredly fell asleep, and a faint smile formed on her lips.

Afterward, she wiped the sweat from her forehead and began to meditate, trying to expel the few traces of demonic energy that entered her body.

Just as she was expelling the demonic energy, her door was rudely pushed open!

“Xiao Qingqing, are these provisions you brought for your master?”

A disrespectful voice sounded with doubt almost simultaneously, urging He Lianqing to turn around as she rolled her eyes, only to see an old man who looked dignified and ethereal approaching her. However, his eyes were fixed directly on the little white ball, which was sleeping soundly and drooling slightly with its belly up.

He Lianqing: “…”

“Master, you’re mistaken. This is the spiritual pet I intend to form a contract with, not something I’m giving you to make a stew.”

Jiujian Zhenren stroked his grown beard purposely and looked at his unfilial disciple with a hint of grievance. “Xiao Qingqing, how could you be so unfilial to your master? Your master raised you with so much effort, but you can’t even satisfy your master’s love for delicacies…”

“First of all, I haven’t been your disciple for that long compared to others, so your claim of painstakingly raising me is baseless.” He Lianqing calmly interrupted his self-pitying words, “and secondly, why don’t you mention that you have already attained enlightenment and don’t need to eat, yet you’re still being picky about eating rare and exotic beasts?”

Jiujian Zhenren: “…”

The highly esteemed sect leader choked for a while, and finally pointed at He Lianqing tremblingly and said, “Unfilial disciple!”

“But speaking of it, I did find a lot of materials and methods for roasting meat during this trip down the mountain…”

“Ah, my dear Xiao Qingqing is just so adorable, respectful to her master, and blessed with extraordinary talent, a true pride of Xuantian Sect!”

Jiujian Zhenren’s expression changed instantly, and his face turned into a wrinkled chrysanthemum as he smiled.

The small white ball, disturbed by the noise while dreaming, couldn’t help but feel annoyed and turned over, using its little paws to scratch its fluffy ears and curling itself into a ball.

A faint smile appeared on He Lianqing’s lips. “Alright Master, do you have any other business?”

Without waiting forJiujian Zhenren to answer, she continued with a smile, “Since there’s nothing else, Master, you should go back first; It’s uncomfortable to stand for a long time for someone your age, isn’t it?”

Jiujian Zhenren: “…”

The sect leader instantly became furious. You ungrateful disciple! You not only dared to kick your master out but also said he’s old!… Okay since he’s old, can’t you offer him a seat?!

“Speaking of it, Master, something is not quite right here →_→”

Just as Jiujian Zhenren was about to roll up his sleeves to teach this troublesome and unthoughtful disciple a lesson, He Lianqing raised an eyebrow and spoke again, meaningfully.

“How about you go prepare the ingredients you want to eat, and I’ll cook them for you later?”

Jiujian Zhenren: “…”

Indeed, she was the only disciple who understood the sect leader’s temper thoroughly, pinpointing his weak spot so easily.

The eldest senior brother, Lin Lixuan, stood at the door with a somewhat amused expression as he watched the sect leader, whose face turned bright red with anger, unsure whether he should scold He Lianqing severely or praise her happily, and he couldn’t help shaking his head.

Why did Master always put himself in a position to be played around by his little junior sister, even though he never once had the upper hand in their interactions?

The small white ball let out an annoyed cry, finally awakened by the noise, then it grumpily turned over a few times and glared at the old man who interrupted its tranquility, angrily baring its teeth.

After waving her sharp claws threateningly at him, the small white ball squatted on the table and blankly looked at He Lianqing, who had a smile on her face. Her appearance was so adorable, as if she hadn’t fully woken up yet, completely melted He Lianqing’s heart.

“Hmm, this little creature actually dared to threaten me? It seems if I won’t use you to make soup…”

“Master—what did you just say?”

Just as Jiujian Zhenren was about to seize the opportunity to take the small white ball away, he suddenly heard He Lianqing’s voice, seemingly smiling but with a threatening undertone, so he couldn’t help but pause and sneak another glance at her.

He noticed that although the girl wore a smile on her face, her deep black eyes carried a dangerous warning, so he could only retract his hand dejectedly.

Jiujian Zhenren: His master’s authority is diminishing more and more – wailing x3 〒▽〒

“Xiao Xi, come here.”

He Lianqing extended her hand, signaling for the still-staring little white ball to climb up. Once Su Yanxi agilely climbed onto her shoulder, He Lianqing casually turned her head and calmly said to the sorrowful Jiujian Zhenren, “Master, don’t you need to go prepare? Otherwise, I won’t have the ingredients for tomorrow…”

“—I’m going right now!”

Without waiting for He Lianqing to finish her sentence, Jiujian Zhenren immediately understood his little disciple’s intention, and with a whoosh, he rushed out of the door, not even noticing Lin Lixuan standing at the entrance.

Helplessly shaking his head, Lin Lixuan exchanged a greeting with He Lianqing, and then went back to his own residence.

“How are you feeling now? Do you feel better?” He Lianqing tilted her head slightly and leaned against the soft white fur of the little white ball, speaking with a soft and tenderness voice that Su Yanxi had never experienced since she transmigrated, “Is your head still hurting? Is there anywhere else uncomfortable?”

The little white ball, felt so scared by the sudden events, shook its head blankly, not sure if it had truly understood what was said.

Seeing that she seemed to be fine, He Lianqing’s eyes suddenly grew cold, and her deep black pupils seemed to freeze like glaciers, capable of instilling a sense of dread in those who gazed upon them, “You can only stay here from now on, so you have to not only get used to the spiritual energy but also pretend to be a White Tiger, Do you hear me?”

The little white ball let out two urgents howls, as if protesting vehemently, then flicked its tail towards He Lianqing’s face and attempted to escape.

He Lianqing disapprovingly grabbed its tail. “Discontent? Can you beat me? You still haven’t realized your current situation; how foolish can you be?”

Su Yanxi was about to explode, and she subconsciously extended her claws to scratch the hand holding her tail!

He Lianqing didn’t dodge but frowned, looking at her bleeding hand, “Being so arrogant without the strength to back it up, are you really waiting to be offered as a sacrifice to my master’s soup?”

Surprisingly, she did manage to wound her. Su Yanxi had been staring at her hand with three claw marks in a daze, but when she heard the second half of He Lianqing’s sentence, the guilt that had just risen in her heart was immediately dispelled by anger!

“What are you jumping for? Do you think that now that we’re here, you can still go back?” He Lianqing glanced at her dismissively, “Go fetch the medicine for me; It’s on the second shelf of that cabinet over there, in the blue porcelain bottle.”

The infuriated little white ball reluctantly waved its paws at her, grumbled but still ran towards the cabinet.

He Lianqing watched as the agitated little white ball struggled to jump and finally hung on to the second shelf of the cabinet. A playful smile tugged at the corners of her lips. Every time she saw the little white ball, a genuine sense of joy would well up in her heart, to the point that just thinking about her would make her uncontrollably burst into laughter…

What could be the reason for this?

He Lianqing didn’t delve into that thought at this moment, as it was still too early for that, plus the tangle of emotions between them was not yet clear, so it wasn’t appropriate to think too deeply about it.

The little white ball struggled to open the cabinet door, and just as it was about to catch its breath while perched on the shelf, its body suddenly lost balance, and it accidentally fell into the drawer.

Clatter clatter, it knocked over a few medicine bottles.

The scent of the medicine filled the air, and the little white ball couldn’t help but sneeze, struggling to climb out of the drawer.

She found the only blue porcelain bottle, skillfully curled it up with her tail, then agilely jumped down, and with her short legs, she ran up to He Lianqing. Once there, she sprawled out on the table like a valuable fur coat, pretending to be utterly exhausted, and remained motionless for a while.

He Lianqing raised an eyebrow, looking at the little white ball who was pretending to be exhausted, yet its sparkled blue eyes betrayed its foolish behavior. He Lianqing then deliberately or inadvertently waved her hand, showing the shocking sight of her injured hand in front of it.

Su Yanxi suddenly felt a bit uneasy and slightly shrunk her neck.

“What, you injured me, and now you want to slack off? How am I supposed to apply the medicine by myself, huh?”

Especially that last “huh,” with its slight upward, deep, languid and upward tone filled with a hint of amusement that was simply captivating.

The little white ball sneakily glanced up at her, then at her still bleeding hand, and its front paws couldn’t help but fidget nervously.

He Lianqing repeated with a nonchalant smile, “You really won’t help me apply the medicine?”

The little white ball hesitated for a moment, fidgeting its body back and forth but reluctantly climbed up in the end. It glared at the girl in front of it; with the pair of spirited blue eyes that could speak, as if saying that she could have applied the medicine herself. However, He Lianqing pretended not to understand and continued to extend her injured hand, maintaining eye contact.

Su Yanxi ultimately gave in, used her tail to pick up the blue porcelain bottle, pushed it down with her paw, and placed her front paws on top of the fallen botte. With a bit of effort, she took a few steps forward to He Lianqing’s hand and used her teeth to pull out the bottle stopper.

She poured some ointment on her paw, noticing that the girl smiled at her with no sign of disgust. This sight caused the little white ball to irritably move its whiskers in a haughty manner, hum softly, turn around annoyingly, and present its small butt to her.

After He Lianqing applied a few bandages to her own wounds, she rested her chin on one hand and blinked as she earnestly observed the little white ball’s tail swaying unconsciously, coupled with that soft-looking butt, and she suddenly felt a slight itch in her heart.

—Then, her hand moved on its own, unable to stop herself from touching it..
