I Became Love Rivals With My Crush Ch.15

Hey there

So, you might have noticed that I missed an upload on friday. Sorry about that. Life has been pretty hectic recently, with me being laid off work amongst other stuff. So, in the near future I might not adhere strictly to the upload schedule. With that said, I’ll try my hardest to give you the chapters in time + uploading ~3 chapters a week.

Here’s two chapters for you to make up for the last one <3

Su Lingyu said coldly, “You really never listen.”

Qu Panyan quickly walked up to her, innocently grabbing her sleeve and softly acting coquettish, “Sister Lingyu, don’t be angry. I haven’t been disobedient. Please listen to my explanation.”

This was the first time she had acted coquettish toward Su Lingyu, an instinctual move, and she couldn’t predict if Su Lingyu would be receptive. She carefully lifted Su Lingyu’s sleeve to cover half of her face, revealing only a pair of bright eyes that carefully observed every change in Su Lingyu’s expression.

Su Lingyu hesitated for a moment, then said emotionlessly, “Speak.”

Qu Panyan beamed with joy and proceeded to explain everything in detail.

Su Lingyu furrowed her eyebrows, “You want me to turn a blind eye?”

Qu Panyan nodded and said, “Sister Lingyu, just pretend you didn’t see Yue Xiaomeng. Protect her self-esteem. After all, she didn’t know about Duan Yang’s true nature. She just wanted to accomplish something to make you proud and take revenge for me.”

Su Lingyu remained noncommittal. Before Changxing introduced her two disciples, she had no idea who Yue Xiaomeng was and did not associate her with Duan Yang. The day after, Yue Xiaomeng returned to Xianmeng Sect and became her grand-disciple. When she saw Yue Xiaomeng, she didn’t think much of it and had no knowledge of her “grand plan,” so she didn’t mention it.

As for why she didn’t give any news to Qu Panyan until the next day, it was simply because she had forgotten. It was only on the second day that she suddenly remembered the matter and further investigated the situation, which made her feel that Duan Yang was not simple. She also assumed that Qu Panyan and Duan Yang were still in Cangnan Sect, so she advised her to be cautious.

In fact, she not only sent Qu Panyan a message but also informed Lou Wuhua. Lou Wuhua told her that both Qu Panyan and Duan Yang had returned. Lou Wuhua even inquired whether she wanted to investigate Duan Yang.

After some contemplation, she decided to let it go. Since Duan Yang didn’t bother Qu Panyan, there was no need to waste too much time on him. They could each go their separate ways.

Her thoughts returned, it wasn’t a bad thing to have disciples who aspired to become proud elders… However, acting alone was too reckless, so she couldn’t help but secretly protect and support them as the Sect Master.

She made up her mind to ask Changxing to discipline the two disciples more when she returned.

Su Lingyu nodded, indicating her agreement.

Qu Panyan couldn’t help but feel delighted and then remembered something else, asking, “But why did you ask me to be cautious around Duan Yang?”

Su Lingyu spoke frankly, “Nothing, I just found it strange that day when he suddenly stood in front of you.”

Qu Panyan was surprised and let go of her sleeve. “You also saw it, Sister Lingyu? Was he really doing it on purpose?”

Su Lingyu made a sound of agreement.

On that day, when Su Lingyu rushed back to the lakeside, she saw the corpse monster charging towards them. Qu Panyan was ready to strike, but Duan Yang, for no apparent reason, glanced at her and loudly shouted, “Miss, be careful!” He then stood in front of her, forcing her to withdraw her prepared move.

Su Lingyu found Duan Yang’s behavior inexplicable and blamed him for causing Qu Panyan to be involved in the unnecessary danger. Consequently, she felt no fondness for him and treated him with cold indifference. When he proposed that Yue Xiaomeng should let him ride on her sword, Su Lingyu wouldn’t agree to it. Instead, she cut off a branch for him to use and expressed her indifference, suggesting that he could use it or not, and if he didn’t want to, he could just stay there and wait to die.

Qu Panyan received a definite answer and remembered the month she had been tormented by her second brother. She became angry, her cheeks turning red. She even cursed angrily, “None of the men who take an interest in me are good people!” In her heart, she was using much stronger language, and in her eyes, Duan Yang had already officially joined the ranks of scoundrels.

While she was fuming, she suddenly felt a pain in her forehead.

Su Lingyu slowly withdrew her hand and calmly said, “Nonsense.”

Qu Panyan covered her forehead, looking innocent. “Sister Lingyu, everything I said was true.”

“A good man would never fall in love with me.” Qu Panyan looked at her. “So, any man who likes me must not be a good person. Sister Lingyu, if you’re looking for a partner in the future, you can let me check him out first. If he doesn’t like me, then you can trust him for a lifetime that he won’t deceive you.”

Su Lingyu was taken aback and showed displeasure. “Who taught you to say such things, Lou Wuhua? You’re really being misled!”

Qu Panyan said with a sense of grievance, “Sister Lingyu, everything I said was true…” I really have this ‘buff’! I swear by my conscience, the heaven and earth and the sun and moon can testify that I’m not lying. Sister Lingyu, believe me!

She lowered her head, summoning the courage to continue, “So, I can’t like men…”

It was clearly a heartfelt confession, but she said it with great timidity, not daring to look up at Su Lingyu’s expression, and even beginning to regret saying those words…

What if Su Lingyu was disgusted by same-sex love?

What if Su Lingyu found her repulsive?

What if…

Qu Panyan dared not delve deeper into those thoughts, and in disappointment, she lowered her head even further, wishing she could bury herself in the ground.

“That’s fine, if you don’t like them, there’s no need to force yourself,” Su Lingyu’s voice drifted lightly from above her head. “You can like women, or you don’t have to like anyone at all. The important thing is to live happily.”

Qu Panyan lifted her head, looking at her in a daze. The sunlight cast a golden hue on Su Lingyu’s hair, and Qu Panyan felt like she seemed to be glowing.

Su Lingyu gazed back, her eyes full of earnestness. “After all, liking someone means that the mere presence of that person makes you happy, isn’t that right?”

Qu Panyan remained in a daze, seeing Su Lingyu’s face gradually becoming blurry, as if covered by a mist. In the haziness, a pair of hands reached out and gently dispersed the fog before her eyes, revealing the face of the person across from her with a slightly helpless expression on their face.

“Why are you crying?” Su Lingyu gently wiped away her tears, though she didn’t understand why she suddenly burst into tears. Nevertheless, she softly consoled her, saying, “Sister Lingyu is here.”

Hearing those four words, the tightly wound string in Qu Panyan’s heart suddenly snapped, and tears uncontrollably streamed down her cheeks. She could no longer hold back but cry out loud.

Su Lingyu let out a soft sigh and tenderly embraced her, gently patting her back to comfort her in silence.

Why was she crying? She wasn’t entirely sure.

She had never felt aggrieved by this ‘buff’ before since she had such a wonderful family and teachers. Being single was never a significant issue for her, as she had lived happily as a ‘solo’ person in her previous world as well.

Su Lingyu was the first person she had ever liked, who was also a woman like her. Qu Panyan wasn’t sure how the other person viewed same-sex love, so she chose to silently love from afar. Yet, when she finally mustered the courage to say, “I can’t like men,” Su Lingyu’s tone was so kind and devoid of any disgust.

As long as you live happily, that’s enough.

After all, liking someone means that their presence makes you happy, isn’t it?

When these words came from the mouth of the person she liked, her nose started to tingle, and her tears could no longer be suppressed.

Indeed, as long as she knew that they were under the same sky, gazing upon the same round moon, even if separated by a thousand miles, she would feel happy.

Because she likes Su Lingyu.

Qu Panyan cried softly in Su Lingyu’s embrace, her heart filled with a gentle strength that encouraged her to continue liking her bravely and steadfastly.

“Why are your eyes so red? Did you cry?” Yue Xiaomeng stared wide-eyed at Qu Panyan across the table, biting her chopsticks.

Qu Panyan let out a sigh, looking serious as she replied, “I accidentally tripped and fell on my way back, and it hurt so I cried.”

Yue Xiaomeng: “…” Why do I find it hard to believe?

Seeing that Qu Panyan didn’t want to say much, Yue Xiaomeng didn’t press further. Maybe it was someone from the Qu family who scolded her to tears? If so, what did that have to do with an outsider like her? Yue Xiaomeng put down her chopsticks and pushed all the dishes she found delicious in front of Qu Panyan, sympathetically saying, “Don’t be too upset. Try these dishes; they’re really delicious.”

Qu Panyan unconsciously sniffed and replied, “I’m fine. Do you still want to investigate Duan Yang?”

Yue Xiaomeng nodded, “Well, I actually want to. Since the Sect Master warned us to be careful of him, it means he must have some issues. Perhaps he’s a big bad guy! Punishing evil and promoting good could also make my parents and Grandmaster happy!”

Qu Panyan took a sip of tea. I envy you for not witnessing the reaction of your Grandmaster when we left Duan’s residence.

Yue Xiaomeng looked at her and asked, “Is it okay? You brought so many guards, and with their protection, we shouldn’t be afraid of him, right…”

Qu Panyan thought to herself: Not just the guards, now we also have the Sect Master of Xianmeng Sect with us. We can practically walk around boldly.

Qu Panyan nodded, “Yes, no need to be afraid.”

Yue Xiaomeng felt reassured and used another pair of chopsticks to pick up food for her. “By the way, did Duan Yang tell you that Senior Sister Mu is also here?”

Qu Panyan’s hand holding the chopsticks paused, “Mu Qian?”

Yue Xiaomeng said, “She’s staying in the adjacent room next to yours. She said Duan Yang invited her to visit the city. She arrived half an hour earlier than me. Did you know?”

Visiting? Just so happens to be here today?

Qu Panyan secretly felt that there was more to this than meets the eye.

She advised, “She has a deep relationship with Duan Yang, so no matter what purpose she has for coming to Duan’s residence, don’t get too close to her.”

Yue Xiaomeng replied, “Alright, I’ll remember.”

When they returned to Duan ‘s residence, they indeed saw Mu Qian, who was coming out of her own room with a radiant smile, looking like she was heading somewhere.

Mu Qian was surprised when she saw Qu Panyan and then greeted her with a smile, “Junior Sister Qu.”

Qu Panyan looked at her calmly and said nothing. Yue Xiaomeng stood on the side, feeling that the atmosphere between the two of them was strange and not harmonious at all. Which senior sister would be so timid and shy towards their junior sister?

Qu Panyan spoke up, “Senior Sister Mu, out of fellow disciples’ friendship, I have an advise for you.”

“Duan Yang isn’t worth entrusting your lifetime to.”

Mu Qian was taken aback by her words, looking flustered as if her secret had been exposed, “Junior…junior sister, what are you saying? I have a clear conscience with Young Master Duan, plus he has feelings for you. I came here today only because Young Master Duan appreciated me for escorting him back to the residence. Junior Sister, please don’t overthink things!”

She awkwardly smiled, “Junior Sister, I sincerely think that you and Young Master Duan are a perfect match…”

Qu Panyan arched an eyebrow, her bright eyes staring at her as if she could see into her heart and expose all her thoughts.

Mu Qian struggled to utter those words, feeling her heart tremble under Qu Panyan’s gaze, and she turned to escape.

But Qu Panyan’s voice rang out from behind her, once again stopping her in her tracks.

“Don’t do something foolish.”

Qu Panyan’s voice was icy cold.

“Your Mu Clan’s wings aren’t strong enough.”
