I Became Love Rivals With My Crush Ch.17

Extra Chapter for y’all.

Nearly a hundred maids in Duan Mansion were all killed by Duan Yang, without leaving a trace.

How did he manage to do this?

Mu Qian said, “He practices dark arts, using sweet words to deceive women into marrying him. Once they’re married, they are under his curse, and then a black mark appears on their arms. Whether they live or die, it’s all under his control.” She added bitterly, “If Junior Sister doesn’t believe me, you can open the door and see the mark on my arm to know if what I said is true or false.”

Qu Panyan felt the grip on her wrist loosen, knowing that Su Lingyu had agreed to open the door. She then opened the door and looked at Mu Qian. “Please, Senior Sister Mu.”

Without hesitation, Mu Qian rolled up her long sleeves and extended her arm in front of them, prompting Yue Xiaomeng to also lean over. Three pairs of eyes clearly saw a peculiar, twisted black mark on Mu Qian’s fair arm. Qu Panyan and Su Lingyu looked away, while Mu Qian putting down her sleeves, smiled bitterly, “My life is already in his hands; I can’t escape anymore. But you still have a chance, Junior Sister. You should leave now. Furthermore, when nightfall comes, the corpses in Duan Mansion become restless, making it imperative not to stay here for too long! Once you have left the premises, make sure to gather a group of people to annihilate this wicked place and get rid of that treacherous scoundrel!”

Qu Panyan stared into her eyes and asked, “Aren’t you afraid he’ll use the curse to take your life if you take us away without his consent?”

Mu Qian chuckled, “Since he’s taken a liking to you, why would he leave me behind? Whether I live or die, it’s all the same. Why should I let him have his way?”

A hint of a smile appeared in Qu Panyan’s eyes, “Senior Sister has indeed changed a lot. Please lead the way then, Senior Sister.”

Yue Xiaomeng exclaimed, “Qu Panyan!”

Qu Panyan patted her hand reassuringly, “The dying speak words of wisdom. Just trust me.” With that, she took the lead and followed Mu Qian.

Yue Xiaomeng stomped her foot in frustration but followed suit while thinking: I can comprehend my own foolishness, but what perplexes me is why Qu Panyan is also behaving foolishly now!

Su Lingyu naturally followed behind, and the surrounding guards dispersed in all directions, ensuring there were no dangers nearby.

Mu Qian led the two through narrow paths, taking numerous turns and carefully avoiding the undead maids who could erupt into violence at any moment.

After sneaking around for the duration of an incense stick to burn, they finally reached their destination which was the back gate of Duan Residence. Mu Qian stepped forward, opening the gate and casting a smile at Qu Panyan: “Junior Sister Qu, this is where we part ways. Once you’re outside, remember to return and seek vengeance on my behalf.”

Qu Panyan glanced out the door and caught sight of an alley, where a white wall stood in stark contrast on the opposite side. The pale moonlight cast an icy glow upon the wall, illuminating it with an ethereal brilliance.

While Qu Panyan was lost in thought, Mu Qian suddenly reached out from behind, but with a sharp “snap,” Qu Panyan swiftly grabbed Mu Qian’s wrist. The next moment, her whole body was spinning, and Qu Panyan’s voice rang in Mu Qian’s ear, “I knew you wouldn’t get any smarter!”

As Qu Panyan shoved Mu Qian out of the back door, a flash of white light abruptly enveloped her vision. A white screen materialized before her, obscuring everything else from view. In an instant, the darkness of the alley, the white walls, and the back door vanished, revealing their original appearance—the Duan Mansion.

Within the white screen, Duan Yang’s figure slowly appeared, walking over to help Mu Qian up while asking, “Miss Qu, are you truly unwilling to become the mistress of this mansion?”

Qu Panyan’s gaze fixated on the screen resembling a defensive array, her temples throbbing and a surge of anger burned in her chest. She had never encountered such a confrontational person in all her life!

—Could it be that this person suffers from a lack of five fundamental elements?!1

Seeing the anger in her eyes and that she didn’t respond, Duan Yang suddenly kicked Mu Qian down, who had just stood up. Annoyed that he couldn’t trap Qu Panyan with his formation, he looked grim and said, “Even if I have to use your senior sister’s life as the price?”

Qu Panyan’s expression grew even darker than his, and her eyes were as vicious as a venomous snake. “Do it, if you can’t kill her today, you’re nothing but a waste!”

Mu Qian was greatly alarmed and lost her color. “Junior Sister Qu!”

“I told you, you’re as good as dead, understood?” Qu Panyan said coldly, giving her a disdainful glance that sent shivers down her spine, as if a poisonous snake was slithering over her. Qu Panyan smirked, her smile cold and eerie. “Even if you don’t die in his hand today, you’ll die in my hands. Either way, you’re going to die, so why don’t you let me, who you hate the most, give you that wish?”

Upon witnessing this, Duan Yang burst into loud laughter. “Interesting! Is Miss Qu trying to provoke me so that I won’t kill her? Your deep bond as fellow disciples is truly touching and remarkable.”

Go to hell with your provocation, I want this idiot dead now! Qu Panyan replied impatiently, “If you’re going to kill her, do it quickly. Why waste time with words? People like you always die from excessive talking, understand?”

Duan Yang laughed even more wildly. “No need to provoke me further. Unless Miss Qu agrees to be mine, she won’t survive tonight.”

Qu Panyan urged, “I won’t agree, so get on with it.”

Duan Yang glared ferociously at Mu Qian and spat out the word “Xian,” and instantly, Mu Qian writhed in pain on the ground, her face contorted. She felt an overwhelming force rampaging inside her, breaking her meridians and crushing her internal organs. The pain was excruciating that she wished for death, unable to even beg for mercy, only continuously spitting out blood that was a shocking sight to see.

Tears streamed down her face as the pain threatened to make her lose consciousness. Her heart repeatedly questioned why she had helped Duan Yang. Why did she believe his sweet lies about treating her well for a lifetime? Why did she fall under his spell and want Qu Panyan dead?!

Why was she still inferior to her until her death…

Su Lingyu watched calmly from the side, her expression only changing briefly when Qu Panyan uttered the word “waste.” Was this really the true nature of the junior who she thought was obedient, considerate, and well-behaved?

However, she didn’t find it repulsive. On the contrary, she thought it was good. Such a temperament would prevent others from bullying her.

Yue Xiaomeng was escorted away from the formation by Qu family’s guards, and saw Qu Panyan standing alone, touching the barrier of the formation, making Yue Xiaomeng couldn’t help but worry. “Qu Panyan, keep your distance and be careful not to get hurt!”

Qu Panyan knocked on the barrier, finding it quite solid. She nonchalantly replied, “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. He must die tonight.”

Duan Yang snorted, “You can’t break it, so give up.”

Qu Panyan glanced briefly at the barely breathing Mu Qian and grumbled impatiently, “Why isn’t she dead yet? Can you get the job done or not?”

Suddenly, Duan Yang felt that Qu Panyan wasn’t just trying to provoke him; she genuinely wanted Mu Qian dead, and also genuinely looked down on him. His face turned ugly, and he uttered the word “Qui.” Mu Qian stretched out her legs and finally breathed her last.

Qu Panyan had already figured out the workings of this formation and was stepping back. Seeing that Mu Qian had finally perished, she spared a glance at Duan Yang and asked, “Young Master Duan, there’s something I don’t understand. Could you enlighten me?”

With the most beautiful appearance in the world, Qu Panyan’s endless charm and patience won Duan Yang over. “Miss Qu, please speak.”

Qu Panyan stood firm and asked, “Was it you who killed that female corpse a month ago?”

Duan Yang didn’t deny it.

Qu Panyan continued, “The bloody mark on her arm were the runes you carved, right? Since you intentionally concealed your murderous acts, why did you still manipulate her to attack us? Aren’t you afraid we would investigate?”

Duan Yang smiled, “Since Miss Qu wants to know, I won’t hide anything. Yes, I deliberately concealed it, and I made her stand up to scare you away. But little did I know you’d destroy the corpse directly. So, I took the opportunity to act like a hero, trying to save you and impress you, hoping you would develop feelings for me. I never thought it would hurt you. I’m also heartbroken over it…”

Su Lingyu had initially considered intervening, but seeing Qu Panyan’s Fire Bell Silk sliding into her palm from her sleeve, she decided to let her handle it herself.

Qu Panyan held the two Fire Bells in her hand, her lips curling up in what seemed like a smile, but it instead sent a chill down one’s spine. “I’m heartbroken too. Not only that, but my hand also hurts!”

With that, she exerted her full power and struck out with two Fire Bells. In the air, two fiery streaks shot rapidly, exuding an imposing force, as if thousands of troops and horses were charging through, emitting a clangorous sound that invigorated the atmosphere.

Duan Yang was confident in the toughness of the barrier and tried to advise her, “Miss Qu, you should give up. My barrier is incredibly strong, and no one—”

“Crack crack—” Several sharp sounds interrupted his words.

Duan Yang’s eyes widened, looking at the cracks that appeared on the formation, unbelievably saying, “It can break…”

Su Lingyu’s eyes revealed a hint of admiration; this junior, Qu Panyan, was truly extraordinary!

Qu Panyan withdrew the Fire Bell Silk, sneering with disdain.

If it couldn’t break, then where would I have been when I was under the control of the devil for a month?!

Qu Panyan pointed at Duan Yang, and several guards appeared beside him out of thin air, quickly pinning him down. As he thought he was about to bid farewell to the world, Duan Yang suddenly burst into laughter while kneeling on the ground, staring at Qu Panyan and saying word by word, “Miss Qu, don’t you want Miss Yue’s life?”

Yue Xiaomeng’s pupils dilated suddenly, hastily pulling up her sleeve. On her slender white arm, there was a black rune exactly like the one on Mu Qian’s hand. No matter how hard she tried to rub it off, she only ended up scraping her skin red, but the rune remained intact.

Her voice trembled as she spoke, “Qu Panyan…what… what should I do…”

Qu Panyan frowned and said firmly, “Don’t cry.”

Yue Xiaomeng closed her mouth in fear, but her mind couldn’t help but recall the gruesome scene before Mu Qian’s death. There was a large pool of blood on the ground, all vomited out by Mu Qian, causing her tears to fall uncontrollably.

Qu Panyan turned to look at Duan Yang, “It seems you used a kiss to place the curse.”

Duan Yang smiled, “Miss Qu is clever. If you don’t want her to die, then trade her life for yours.”

Qu Panyan pondered for a moment and replied nonchalantly, “that works too”

Yue Xiaomeng cried out, “No, no! I won’t allow it! Qu Panyan, don’t agree with him!” She didn’t want to harm her…

Ignoring Yue Xiaomeng’s cries, Qu Panyan walked decisively towards Duan Yang. Suddenly, her footsteps halted and she caught a whiff of the fragrance emanating from Su Lingyu. She covered her mouth with her sleeve and whispered, “Leave it to me, trust me.”

Her voice was calm yet resolute, filled with a sense of security that eased Su Lingyu’s uneasiness, and it also gave rise to a sense of trust—she could handle it herself.

On the foundation of having no worries about her life.

Su Lingyu took a few steps back, watching her slender figure moving forward. Despite her seemingly frail body, she exuded an immense sense of security. Throughout the process, she remained calm and composed, as if she had already mastered the entire situation, displaying remarkable calmness that was admirable.

She couldn’t help but think that Lu Wuhua had struck gold with such a disciple. At the same time, she couldn’t help but worry that with Lu Wuhua as an unorthodox master, would Qu Panyan be led astray?

Qu Panyan walked straight to Duan Yang’s face and extended her wrist to his mouth casually, as if it was no big deal. “Dear, hurry up.”

Duan Yang: “…” He had never seen anyone so eager to be cursed.

However, he didn’t dare to think too much, fearing that Qu Panyan might regret it the next second. After all, when he killed Mu Qian, she didn’t even blink. He looked at the wrist, too preoccupied to notice how fair and beautiful it was, then he lowered his head to kiss it.

Just then, with a crisp sound of ‘dingling’, and before he knew it, Qu Panyan swiftly shoved a Fire Bell into his mouth.

  1. The five elements are wood, earth, fire, water, and metal. These elements exist to bring a harmonious balance to the mind, spirit, and body. Qu Panyan implies that Duan Yang must be deficient in one of these elements to have the audacity to propose such a relationship in this kind of situation. ↩︎
