Grab The Heroine and Run Away Ch.3
Xu Heran spent an entire afternoon contemplating how to resolve the conflict with the female lead. She approached the dance studio where Xin Nuo practiced several times, but hesitated, afraid of disturbing her.
As the sun neared the horizon, Xu Heran squatted in a corner, supporting her head with her hand. She watched the back-and-forth interaction between the horizon, like a dialogue between lovers, the evening sun casting a warm orange glow everywhere, and her eyes lit up.
She thought of a brilliant idea! A surefire way to divert attention away from Xin Nuo!
In this moment, illuminated by moonlight, Xu Heran gazed at Xin Nuo’s stunned expression, a smile playing on her lips.
“I really, truly like you!”
I flipped through the original book over and over again, and nobody said “I really like you” like I do. You’re not just a character on paper; you’re the love of my life!
“I will protect you!”
Fate brought me here at this time, before everything began. I will absolutely not let those disgusting scumbags lay a finger on you!
“In this lifetime, I’m infatuated with Nuo Nuo, crazy for Nuo Nuo! I’ll bash into walls for Nuo Nuo! I want to be the most good-looking fan among your wealthy fans! The best-looking one among the fans, the wealthiest among them! I think of you when I eat, sleep – Nuo Nuo, charge!”
Xin Nuo: “…”
Xin Nuo: “…”
Xin Nuo: “?”
“What?” She struggled to open her mouth, her brow furrowed tightly. “Do you even know what you’re saying?”
How did it come to this? Shouldn’t she have humiliated her over grades, telling her not to overestimate herself, and then slapped her out of anger… What is this, a confession?
Xin Nuo found it absurd. She remained silent for a good three minutes, easing her shocked heart caused by the current scene.
Did Xu Heran change her ways? Did her rebirth alter the plot of this world?
Or could it be another trick designed by Princess Xu?
Xin Nuo struggled to calm her chaotic emotions, suppressing the heavy confusion in her heart, and coldly asked, “Are you homosexual?”
In her past life, long after it had passed, someone casually mentioned that Princess Xu of the Xu family had mingled with many men abroad, leading an extremely chaotic private life and getting involved in things she absolutely shouldn’t have. When she died, the girl in her twenties had become withered and frail, looking like she was sixty.
Were there women among those she associated with?
Xu Heran scratched her head. She felt it was about time and immediately retorted, “Of course not!”
“Then you’re saying you like me?” Xin Nuo said speechlessly.
Xu Heran raised her hand and gave her thigh a smack, simultaneously flicking away a mosquito corpse. She said, “I like you. It has nothing to do with whether I’m homosexual or not!”
A self-assured expression graced her face. “I like you. I just like you!”
Xu Heran extended both hands, forming fists. She gestured with her index finger in front of Xin Nuo, saying, “It’s the kind of liking where I’ll support whatever you do, encourage your likes, and want to forever gaze upon your likes!”
“It’s the kind of liking a fan has for an idol!”
The haughty Xu Heran claims to be her fan?
Is she hearing things, or is this world about to go haywire?
Xin Nuo crossed her arms and furrowed her brow in bewilderment. She had awakened the memories of her past life during noon singing practice. To be precise, she had been reborn. Such a miraculous thing happened to her. Could it be that Xu Heran was also…?
Impossible!
Xin Nuo looked back into Xu Heran’s eyes. The original Xu Heran wouldn’t have had such clean and clear eyes. Whenever she looked at Xin Nuo, it was always with disdain, from a condescending position. She looked down on everyone, carrying an inexplicable sense of class pride. Among all the people in the training camp, there wasn’t a single person she held in high regard.
“Smack.” Xu Heran swatted another mosquito, waving her hand with distaste. “Stupid mosquito, take that!”
Xin Nuo: “…”
This person absolutely isn’t Xu Heran. At the very least, she’s not the Xu Heran Xin Nuo encountered in her past life.
“Interesting,” Xin Nuo relaxed her brows. Despite the interruption of her plan, the world seemed a bit more intriguing now. A second chance at life resulted in changes in the people around her – the butterfly effect?
What about the others?
Xin Nuo thought of those names that made her nauseous, and a dark glint flickered in her eyes.
The plan has changed; don’t act recklessly. She admonished herself in her heart.
The person at the doorway had long departed. Xin Nuo ran a hand through her hair, tilting her head as she looked at Xu Heran.
She smiled gently, her voice soft and slow, carrying a hint of teasing, wrapped in probing words. “Since you say you ‘like’ me, how do you plan to ‘like’ me?”
Come on, let me see your sincerity.
“Hehehe, I already have a plan!” Xu Heran tightened her fist and beckoned with a finger, her smile directed at Xin Nuo.
Xin Nuo hesitated for a moment, suppressing the displeasure of being close to someone. She slowly approached Xu Heran. Surprisingly, a refreshing scent of shower gel emanated from the girl – an aroma of oranges, sweet, clean, and drifting to her nose without causing any aversion. Xin Nuo’s raised shoulders gradually relaxed.
“Let me tell you something,” Xu Heran raised her hand, leaned in close to Xin Nuo’s ear, and as Xin Nuo’s hair fell down, she quickly reached out to tuck the soft strands behind her ear. The delicate and small ear hidden beneath the black hair was exposed to the air.
“I plan to go to the assistant director’s room first, sneak my phone back,” she whispered.
Xin Nuo raised an eyebrow. Xu Heran needed to sneak her phone back? The entire production team was sponsored by the Xu family. Xu Heran wielded significant influence within the production, getting whatever she wanted. If she needed something, all it took was a word.
An image flashed in her mind of someone kneeling on the ground, looking at a tablet during the day.
Xu Heran continued, “And then, I’m going to log into the 《Starlight Girls》 official website and give you a solid vote!”
Xin Nuo: “…”
Seeing the subtle expression on Xin Nuo’s face, Xu Heran scratched her head. “I’ll mobilize everyone I know. I’m going to make them all vote for you!”
I want everyone to know that Xin Nuo, I, Xu Heran, am backing her!
She’s the person I’ve “confessed” to. Those people who dare to mess with Xin Nuo will have to consider their own strength.
Xin Nuo smiled. “Sure, that’s great. Thank you.”
Xu Heran’s eyes curved, and her blue-purple pupils took on a wonderful sheen in the moonlight. As Xin Nuo looked at her smiling face, the accumulated frustration in her heart dissipated slightly. The soul within Xu Heran, compared to its original state, was more intriguing.
Very intriguing.
“Nuo Nuo, your ears are so cute. All white. I want to take a bite.” Xu Heran suddenly said.
The corners of Xin Nuo’s mouth that had curved up immediately straightened. She stood up straight without showing any reaction, distancing her ears from Xu Heran. “You’re really not gay?”
Xu Heran replied firmly, “Of course not!”
“I’m very straight, okay?”
The assistant director, who heard Xu Heran’s words, had an expression on her face that was a mix of despair and hope. She really wanted to ask, where’s the straight part? When you shouted “I like you” to Xin Nuo, did you ever think about whether you’re straight or not?
She sighed inwardly, clapped her hands, and said to the two who were looking at each other, “Trouble’s brewing.”
Xu Heran and Xin Nuo realized the meaning behind the “trouble” and their facial expressions remained unchanged.
“The director is looking for you.”
“Exciting, isn’t it… Really exciting,” the director, a middle-aged man, laid on the couch clutching his chest, repeatedly exclaiming, “I’ve never experienced such excitement in my life!”
The door wasn’t closed, and Xu Heran peeked her head in, smiling playfully. “Can I come in?”
She and Xin Nuo entered one after the other, greeting the director before taking seats on chairs by the table. Xu Heran casually pulled the snack box from the director’s desk over to her side and pushed it towards Xin Nuo.
“Eat, don’t be polite with me,” Xu Heran whispered in a lowered voice.
Xin Nuo’s expression remained calm as she picked up a few candies and slipped them into her pocket.
The director, now back to his senses, climbed up from the couch. He noticed the snack box next to the two and alarm bells went off in his mind. He quickly reached over, pulling the snack box towards him and placing it under the table. When aspiring to be an idol, maintaining weight was strictly regulated. The training camp kept a tight rein on the trainees’ diets—Xu Heran being the exception.
However, Xu Heran was in excellent condition, managing to maintain her figure despite her picky eating habits.
“Heran, you—” A hint of anger flashed in the director’s eyes. He wanted to lose his temper but considering Xu Heran’s status, he forcefully suppressed his anger. In the end, he slapped his phone onto the table.
“See for yourself!”
Xu Heran unlocked her phone and faced the video that was playing halfway. Her fair fingers tapped on the video, immediately playing the clear voice saying, “Xin Nuo, I like you.”
“Hiss—” The director couldn’t take this stimulation. He clutched his chest, reclining back onto the couch.
Xin Nuo was a dark horse that emerged during the competition, and Xu Heran’s position was special. If this scandal were confirmed, the whole program would be finished!
Xu Heran chuckled. “It’s recorded quite clearly.”
“Yeah,” Xin Nuo replied in agreement, her eyelashes drooping. Her expression remained neutral as she followed Xu Heran’s scrolling finger to read the comments.
【Shocking! Xu Heran’s Late-Night Confession! Confesses to a Trainee in the 《Starlight Girls》Training Camp?!】
“Her?!” Xu Heran imitated the tone of a marketing account and exclaimed, pointing her finger in Xin Nuo’s direction.
Xin Nuo glanced at her.
The top comment had over five thousand likes and read, “Princess Xu causing trouble again, so disgusting.” Xu Heran’s expression remained unchanged as she scrolled down from a series of questioning and angry comments. The comments below were somewhat more “normal,” speculating that Xu Heran couldn’t defeat Xin Nuo in rankings, so she attempted to divert attention by involving Xin Nuo.
Among the comments, many were playfully calling for “stimulation, more stimulation,” wanting some “momo”.1
Xu Heran leaned slightly in Xin Nuo’s direction. Xin Nuo resisted the urge to push her away, took a deep breath, and looked at her.
“Sister, am I not good?” Xu Heran pouted.
Calmly, Xin Nuo asked, “What’s good about you?”
Tilting her head slightly, Xu Heran blinked her beautiful eyes and gazed at the ceiling, as if seriously pondering. Xin Nuo distanced herself from her and calmly observed as Xu Heran opened her mouth, lightly biting her lower lip, her eyes sparkling.
“Sister, I’m good-looking!” Xu Heran cheerfully declared.
“Yeah,” Xin Nuo admitted.
“I also have money!”
“Yeah…”
“Loads of money!”
“…”
“A whole lot of money…”
Xin Nuo fell silent, watching her calmly.
Xu Heran racked her brain, thinking of the original host’s qualities. “I’m persistent!”
Persistent about the female lead.
“I’m devoted!”
Devoted to the female lead.
“I’m flexible!”
Trying every possible way to torment the female lead, even more diligently than the Big Bad Wolf.
“Yeah… I also.. also have talent!” Xu Heran suddenly said. She beamed a brilliant smile, her eyes gleaming with pride. “I can sing!”
Originating from the confidence within her soul, Xu Heran’s eyes were even brighter than gemstones.
Xin Nuo glanced at her for a moment, then suddenly raised her hand and lightly tapped Xu Heran’s head.
“Got it.” Xin Nuo’s fingers felt as if they had brushed against fine silk, and she quickly pulled her hand back. She rubbed her fingers together, wanting to wipe off the faint sweet orange scent that clung to her fingertips.
Lowering her head, Xin Nuo chuckled softly, her voice barely audible.
“Little Princess.”
The author has something to say:
Xu Heran: I truly am a genius!
Xin Nuo: Yeah, a spring onion genius.
Affection System:
Xin Nuo towards Xu Heran: +1
Xu Heran: QAQ Thank you
For those who have collected this cute little story early, you might have missed the newly added character attributes in the synopsis. Let me paste them here:
Early stage: Cute puppy; later stage: Wolf A; Total Attack and Growth System; Adorable, clingy, and coquettish Jing x Original, powerful, unfortunate beauty, both in the process of being reborn, a gentle and flirtatious older sister.
Imagine the idol stage of Ran Ran as a fluffy, white, big-eyed, dewy little puppy. This puppy is clingy and likes to whine, a silly and carefree optimist. It’ll carry flowers and pitter-patter along behind. But of course, puppies grow up quickly, hehe…
