I Became Love Rivals With My Crush Ch.45

The kiss was right at the corner of her lips, the distance between their lips… only a hair’s breadth away.

Su Lingyu only needed to move her head slightly to seal the kiss.

In the presence of these tantalizingly close lips, she, who had been calm and composed for so many years, unexpectedly felt a turmoil within. The hand that held her waist tightened unconsciously, and even her breath paused for a moment.

But before she could react, Qu Panyan, who had been on tiptoe now felt her feet went sore, stepped back slightly, her body swaying with the motion, and her lips accidentally brushed past Su Lingyu’s red lips like a gentle breeze, as if teasing her.

Qu Panyan lowered her head and fell back into Su Lingyu’s embrace. It was just a light touch, but her lips still retained a tingling sensation, leaving her both delighted and startled.

I kissed her! I actually kissed her!!!

Her intention was just to tease Su Lingyu a bit. If Su Lingyu had any feelings for her, she wouldn’t be indifferent to someone who was practically delivering themselves. As long as she persisted long enough, Su Lingyu might eventually reveal her feelings and initiate a kiss in the right place.

Never did she imagine that her own sore feet would be her undoing, accidentally kissing Su Lingyu’s lips—truly a case of regretting being short when the need arises.

Qu Panyan wasn’t considered petite; she was around 1.67 to 1.68 meters tall, almost reaching 1.70 meters. However, compared to Su Lingyu, who was even taller, she could only see the snowy white and delicate chin when she looked up from her position. Su Lingyu’s height was easily close to 1.80 meters.

At this moment, she dared not lift her head and look at Su Lingyu’s expression; she was afraid of seeing something she didn’t want to see…

I was clearly the one who offered myself to her, trying to gauge this sister’s feelings. How did it turn into me being the one taking the initiative!

Damn it, what if she still doesn’t like me?

Su Lingyu was in a daze for a moment, slowly savoring what had just happened. Lowering her gaze, she saw that little head nestled in her embrace, quiet and undisturbed, not struggling to break free. She wondered, was she feeling shy?

If it really was shyness, did that mean she didn’t reject it, and perhaps might even be willing to accept the kiss?

Su Lingyu tilted her head slightly and called out, “Yan’er?”

Hearing her voice, Qu Panyan blushed even more. She was both embarrassed about the accidental kiss and anxious about the other’s ambiguous attitude.

Qu Panyan, feeling embarrassed, covered her face and nervously said, “Sister Lingyu, my feet were sore… I-I didn’t mean to…”

“If Sister Lingyu is unhappy about it, I can take responsibility!”

She heard Su Lingyu ask, “Then how will you take responsibility?”

In her heart, she sighed—oh no, she is really unhappy, and now she wants me to take responsibility…

She still hasn’t developed feelings for me yet…

Qu Panyan slumped her shoulders and replied, “Sister Lingyu, I’ll take responsibility however you want me to.”

Su Lingyu’s voice was soft and somewhat lazy, “Really?” She deliberately leaned closer to Qu Panyan’s ear, her warm breath brushing against Qu Panyan’s white, jade-like earlobe. “Yan’er, you have to think it through carefully. Sister Lingyu won’t let just anyone kiss her.”

These words floated into Qu Panyan’s ears and naturally evolved into: If you dare to kiss, you must be prepared to pay the price.

Suddenly, a sense of tragedy surged in Qu Panyan’s chest, feeling as if she would meet her end today. She couldn’t help but curse fate in her heart, berating herself for being reckless and impulsive.

Over these past few days, Su Lingyu had been good to her, showing affection and fulfilling her every request, but she hadn’t explicitly told her that it was because she liked her. Yet, her love-struck mind had led her to believe that the title of “Madam Su” was within her grasp, even daring to kiss Su Lingyu—Was Sect Master Su someone that anyone could just kiss?!

She scolded herself: Qu Panyan, you’re truly foolish!

She then responded with a disheartened tone, “Really…”

Su Lingyu asked again, “Regardless of what I ask you to do, you won’t regret it?”

Qu Panyan nodded, “Mm, I won’t regret it.”

At that moment, a spirit servant came over, intending to report something to Su Lingyu, only to witness the sight of his Sect Master embracing another girl. The spirit servant’s steps halted instantly.

He noticed the girl had her head lowered, covering her face, while his Sect Master held her, whispering in her ear with a triumphant smile on her lips, as if she were teasing her…

The spirit servant was shocked. When had they ever seen their Sect Master act like this? How could the Sect Master smile like that? And how could she tease an innocent young girl?!

He almost wanted to rush over and sternly reprimand, “Who are you, daring to cling to our Sect Master like this!”

But then, he caught a glimpse of Su Lingyu, who gave him a cold and indifferent glance, accompanied by an instance change to an aloof expression. He confirmed that this was indeed his Sect Master. He quickly walked over, expressing the matter, “Reporting to Sect Master, someone from the An Clan is requesting an audience.”

Qu Panyan was momentarily stunned. The An Clan? Why would they come to see Su Lingyu? Most importantly, how could they have the audacity to seek an audience with Su Lingyu?!

Worried that Su Lingyu might be bothered by the An Clan again, she quickly let go and called out with concern, “Sister Lingyu!”

Su Lingyu calmly held her in her arms, sensing her concern, she patted her waist gently to comfort her and calmly asked the servant, “What do they want?”

The spirit servant spoke cautiously, “Miss An said it’s… about the matter concerning Young Master An.”

Qu Panyan frowned. What kind of guts did An Lin’er have to disturb Su Lingyu with An Cheng’s matter?

Su Lingyu’s response was equally cold, “Does this kind of matter require me, the Sect Master, to handle personally?”

Her words imply that: If she could drive them away directly, she wouldn’t bother seeing them.

The spirit servant bowed his head and replied, “No.”

He was about to go back and dismiss the guests when Su Lingyu’s voice rang out again, “Let An Lin’er stay, this Sect Master wants to meet her. The rest of the people are to leave the sect and not be seen.”

“Yes,” the spirit servant acknowledged.

As the spirit servant left, Qu Panyan asked, “Why does Sister Lingyu want to see her?”

Su Lingyu glanced at her and said, “Do you want to go together, Yan’er?”

Qu Panyan nodded vigorously. Besides wanting to see what the An Clan was up to, she also wanted to see how An Lin’er had cultivated herself during the silent meditation to break the ‘mouth-sealing curse’.

Su Lingyu affectionately touched her cheek and held her hand, saying, “Alright, let’s go together then.”

An Lin’er was brought to the reception hall, which was elegantly decorated with majestic and grand pillars, each intricately carved with a magnificent Golden Phoenix spreading its wings and the spectacular scene of coiling clouds and a bright moon. The fragrance of sandalwood filled the air, creating a sense of tranquil atmosphere.

Su Lingyu sat in the master’s position in the hall, behind her was a screen of pure white gauze, gently swaying and concealing Qu Panyan’s figure. It was because Panyan said she wanted to watch from behind.

Su Lingyu crossed her legs, supported her head with her hand, and looked over with half-opened eyes. Her temperament was as cold as a lotus on a snowy mountain, deterring anyone from offending her.

Within those eyes, An Lin’er couldn’t see any impatience or disgust, which boosted her confidence.

Su Lingyu certainly knew the reason for her visit, and yet, she was willing to meet her. Did that mean… she still held some lingering feelings for her brother?

Could it be that the reconciliation between the two families was just around the corner?!

After indulging in her own fantasy, An Lin’er felt greatly encouraged—Su Lingyu must know that everything was Qu Panyan’s fault, and she must have forgiven her brother. She must be willing to help the An Clan!

Eagerly taking a few steps forward. An Lin’er joyfully exclaimed, “Sister-in-law!”

Qu Panyan was greatly shocked.

Who the hell gave her the guts to address her that way?!

And was this how you cultivated your silent meditation?!

Damn it, An Lin’er, you’re in trouble! I’m going to tell my family’s devil about this!

Su Lingyu’s expression turned even colder, her eyes revealing a chill, her imposing presence making it impossible for anyone to act recklessly. “Have you forgotten who was responsible for An Cheng’s death?”

An Lin’er was taken aback. Why was she reacting this way? Then, why did she agree to meet me?

An Lin’er asked in a daze, “Don’t you—Sect Master Su, don’t you know why I’m here?”

If Su Lingyu disliked her brother, she wouldn’t have agreed to meet her. Why would she agree to this meeting with such an attitude?

Su Lingyu’s long fingers tapped on the armrest one by one, her expression unchanged, still showing indifferent. “Don’t you know why the other members of the An Clan were expelled from the Xianmeng Sect?”

What else could it be if not for An Cheng?

An Lin’er felt anxious. If not for her brother, then why was she here? Could it be that she wanted to vent her anger on her?!

But the urgent situation left her no time to dwell on it. She immediately knelt down with a “thud” and pleaded urgently, “A wicked person stole my brother’s body and refused to return it, demanding that the Sect Master personally come to retrieve it. I had no choice but to come and seek your help! Please, Sect Master Su, save my brother and let him rest in peace!”

Standing behind the curtain, Qu Panyan couldn’t help but feel speechless.

Su Lingyu had just said, ‘Don’t you know who was responsible for An Cheng’s death?’ But An Lin’er seemed to conveniently forget. How could she dare to ask her for help in laying An Cheng to rest?!

What’s going on in An Lin’er’s head? Was her brain the size of a goldfish’s?

In that instant, Su Lingyu’s gaze was like that of someone looking at a fool.

She was being asked to help burying someone she had personally shattered?

Was An Lin’er stupid or just too naive?

When An Lin’er saw that she didn’t respond, she stood up and continued to plead, “Sect Master Su, please consider it as a benevolent act and help us!”

Su Lingyu stared at her, then suddenly said, “I shouldn’t have shattered An Cheng.”

An Lin’er was momentarily stunned, as if seeing a glimmer of hope, and the corners of her mouth involuntarily lifted up.

Su Lingyu’s eyes turned sharp then added with her icy tone, “I should have crushed his bones and scattered his ashes.”

To prevent being disturbed by ignorant people.

An Lin’er’s face changed drastically, but she was unwilling to leave it like this. If she left now, she would never have a chance to see Su Lingyu again. Thinking of An Cheng’s body left abandoned outside, she gritted her teeth and launched another offensive attack.

Crawling a few steps on her knees, An Lin’er moved closer to Su Lingyu, took a deep breath, and boldly declared, “It’s all Qu Panyan’s fault! It’s not my brother’s fault! Qu Panyan has a natural talent for seducing people. She’s a despicable vixen who seduced my brother! My brother loves Sect Master Su so much, he must not have done it willingly! Sect Master Su, please believe me—”

Before An Lin’er could even finish her sentence, a burning palm print was left on her cheek, and bright red blood slowly oozed from her lips.

In disbelief, she looked at Su Lingyu, only to see Su Lingyu flip her sleeve, and a sharp, cold wind swept over her, ruthlessly throwing her to the ground with a heavy thud. Several of her ribs instantly snapped, and she coughed up a mouthful of blood, in too much pain to even get up.

She lay on the ground trembling, feeling a violent chill slowly closing in, trapping her in place and rendering her unable to move.

Su Lingyu looked down at her from above, her eyes filled with killing intent. “Who gave you the audacity to slander my people in the Xianmeng Sect?”

My people…

Qu Panyan clutched her chest, once again moved by these two words that came from Su Lingyu’s mouth—knowing that Su Lingyu was referring to her with the identity of a true disciple.

An Lin’er never expected that Qu Panyan would be involved with Su Lingyu. Her eyes widened instantly, and she said with great difficulty, “What… did you just say?”

“Don’t you understand?”

Su Lingyu slightly bent down, her arrogance and coldness resembling a god looking down on all living beings.

“Qu Panyan, the wife of the Xianmeng Sect’s Sect Master. Do you understand now?”
