My Childhood Sweetheart Gradually Puffed Up CH.46

Chapter 46: I Want to Drink

Wen Yu put on disposable gloves and started mixing the filling.

Fu Chengque washed the vegetables noisily, not very skillfully, making quite a racket.

When she finished washing, Wen Yu had also almost finished mixing. He divided the filling into two bowls and began to chop the chives.

“Fu, start heating the water in the pot and blanch the celery.”

“Do we really need to blanch the celery for the filling? I think we can eat it raw.”

“Snails probably nibbled on it too; I think it’s fine.”

“Ugh—move over a bit, the top chef is here!”

“There’s no space.”

“Your kitchen design is a bit flawed.”

“Our layouts are the same; maybe you just don’t usually go into the kitchen.”

“Who says that? I often visit the kitchen to check on the fridge.”

As Fu Chengque spoke, a smile suddenly appeared on her face. She quickly added water to the pot, turned on the gas stove, and then ran to the fridge.

“Wen Yu, I’m going to check out your fridge.”

She arrogantly rummaged through Wen Yu’s fridge:

“Oranges, are there oranges this season?”

“Forget it, I won’t eat. Wen Yu, do you want yogurt? I’ll take a can.”

“Hey! There are also dates; these dates look familiar.”

Wen Yu continued chopping vegetables and replied, “I’ll drink the dates your family gave.”

“No wonder they looked like they’ve been eaten.” She muttered, taking out two cans of yogurt.

These were locally produced yogurt in glass jars, a specialty of Jiangcheng, which had to be pre-ordered from local dairy farms and delivered every morning. You couldn’t get it elsewhere.

Fu Chengque opened one for herself and handed one to Wen Yu.

Wen Yu glanced at her, palms up. “I don’t have hands.”

“Then I’ll leave it here for now.”

“I want to drink.”

“What should we do then, take a break first?”

“You feed me.”

Fu Chengque’s face suddenly turned red, and she took a few steps back.

She instantly thought of the strange fantasies she had the night she returned from Nancheng, tossing and turning in bed…

Exhaling deeply, Fu Chengque said fiercely, “You’re daydreaming.”

“What are you thinking? Just stick the straw in and hold it up for me.”

“Oh, okay…”

That actually seemed acceptable.

She stuck the straw in and reached out the yogurt, one meter away.

Wen Yu bit down on the straw and took a big sip.

“The water’s boiling, blanch the celery for two minutes and then rinse it in cold water.”

“Okay.”

Fu Chengque put down the yogurt can and hastily began to help.

After cutting the chives, Wen Yu also cut the cooled celery, placed them separately in two filling bowls, and started the final mixing.

As he stirred, he said, “I want to drink.”

Fu Chengque picked up the yogurt and handed it over, waiting for Wen Yu to finish drinking before putting it down again.

After a while, Wen Yu said again, “I want to drink.”

Fu Chengque glared and repeated the process.

In less than a minute, Wen Yu was smiling and preparing to speak again.

The girl was angry. “Are you stirring endlessly?”

“Okay, that’s about it.”

Wen Yu packed everything up, moved the dumpling skins and filling to the living room, and prepared to watch TV while wrapping dumplings.

Fu Chengque held two bottles of yogurt, obediently following along.

Her face reddened slightly because, for some reason, when Wen Yu said “I want to drink” just now, her brain automatically interpreted the text message as “feed me” for the second half of the sentence. Then strange images kept popping up in her mind, each time he spoke, and now it was starting to confuse her.

With everything prepared, the two sat in the living room and started wrapping dumplings while chatting.

“I knew you’d follow along,” Wen Yu said.

“It wouldn’t sit right with me if I let you work alone,” Fu Chengque replied.

Fu Chengque tried to wrap one herself, but it turned out messy.

“It’s okay, it’s a bit ugly, but it’s edible.”

“Yeah, what’s with that hand gesture of yours?”

“Like this…” Wen Yu leaned over and earnestly demonstrated the hand gestures for wrapping dumplings, “and then pinch here, that’s it. Or you can slowly pinch each pleat one by one.”

“Oh oh oh, I got it!”

Fu Chengque exclaimed excitedly and began wrapping.

She actually got it, just from watching once, she managed to wrap a dumpling that was almost as good as Wen Yu’s, leaving Wen Yu stunned.

“Incredible, you’re naturally talented.”

“Hahaha… it’s not that difficult.”

“Indeed, you’re the Empress.”

Then she continued to wrap five or six dumplings, each one exquisite and beautifully made.

“Not bad, you could debut as the ‘Dumpling Fairy.'”

“What ‘Dumpling Fairy’? That sounds so old-fashioned.”

“Fairy beings never age, where would they get old? Unlike us, who grow older; I just aged another year.”

“That’s true…”

“Oh right, Fu, your birthday is coming up, isn’t it?”

“Huh, you remember my birthday too?”

Wen Yu thought to himself, not only do I remember, but it’s also etched in my heart. Every year in my past life, I went through the sorrowful ordeal, sadder than not receiving any birthday wishes myself.

“It’s December 5th, how could I forget?”

There was a glimmer in Fu Chengque’s eyes as she smiled, “Hehe, true. That’s indeed my birthday.”

“Any plans?”

“Huh? No plans, same as before, just going out with a few friends.”

“Last time you arranged a birthday party for me, how about this time I arrange one for you?”

“You?”

“Me.”

“…”

“Not willing?”

“It’s not that, it’s just… strange.”

“Of course it’s strange, considering you weren’t around for my birthdays last year or the year before, and now you’re planning mine this year.”

“…”

Fu Chengque drooped her head.

Wen Yu chuckled, “So, do you want me to arrange it or not?”

The girl suddenly looked up, “Yes, yes, yes! I want it!!”

“Alright, it’s settled.”

“Thank you.”

“Too early to thank me.”

“There’s more to come, hehe.” After a moment of silence, she cautiously said, “Wen Yu, can I make a small request regarding the birthday party?”

“Go ahead.”

She suddenly perked up, “I want it to be wild! I want it to be a riot! I want a crazy night with just us, partying till the next day!”

Is this the restlessness of adolescence?

Wen Yu looked slightly surprised, but still agreed, “I’ll try my best.”

“Hehe, it’s okay if it doesn’t work out.”

Fu Chengque rubbed her hands nervously, excitement gleaming in her eyes.

Both of them fell into a brief silence, sorting through their thoughts.

Suddenly, a cat’s meow came from the balcony, it was Banben’s voice.

“Banben’s hungry.”

“Banben’s hungry.”

They said in unison.

After saying it, they stared at each other in a daze before bursting into laughter together.

Wen Yu went to feed Banben and returned, “Banben should be neutered.”

“Has he had all his vaccinations?”

“Yes, he’s done.”

“Alright, then let’s take him together on a weekend.”

Just as the conversation paused, Fu Chengque suddenly remembered the important matter she had been contemplating for a long time—oh no, she forgot to add the extra kick.

Chatting with Wen Yu was so enjoyable that she unconsciously forgot!

But that didn’t mean she wouldn’t add it today, she had to add it!

She wanted to see Wen Yu’s shocked expression after she tasted the “bitterness” she gave her, then she could laugh wildly beside her, hehe.

“Wen Yu, I’m going to drink some water.”

“If you’re drinking water, put down the dumpling wrappers…”

“It’s okay, I’ll hold onto them, convenient!”

Fu Chengque sneaked into the kitchen to carry out her plan, rummaging through cabinets and finally pulling out a bag of chili powder, sprinkling a thick layer into the dumpling filling.

Self-proclaimed as the Empress, but at this moment, she was laughing like a mischievous child:

“Hehehe…”

Back in the living room, she pretended to mix some filling, then squeezed it forcefully, crafting a beautifully made Empress devil dumpling—

It’s born!!
