I Obviously Just Want to be a Minor Character CH.7

Chapter 7: This Young Master Hasn’t Even Started Serving You Yet

From a third party perspective, Su Ming’s sudden rush to attack was undoubtedly a unwise move.

No matter how you looked at it, Su Ming was only a warlock. If he threw himself at Xu Qianqian and got into a fight with her, the outcome was obvious.

But Su Ming didn’t only throw himself at her—he quickly gained the upper hand.

The reason was very simple.

“Wu”

Xu Qianqian suddenly let out a depressed cry, and her struggling weakened.

Su Ming seized the opportunity and swiftly subdued Xu Qianqian. He looked into her eyes, feeling her strength, he couldn’t help but say, “As expected, your condition isn’t good.”

Su Ming seemed to have sensed something and suddenly lifted up Xu Qianqian’s clothes.

There was a shocking massive wound there.

It was a severe injury that had been caused by something sharp piercing through her entire abdomen.

And this was clearly not Su Ming’s doing.

In other words, Xu Qianqian had appeared here with an injury.

“No wonder you were acting so strangely in the fight earlier.”

Su Ming confirmed the reason for his discomfort.

He had long noticed that something was off about Xu Qianqian.

Aside from everything else, Xu Qianqian was supposed to be one of the top three in the Hunter Division of the Demon-Hunting Academy. She was supposed to be on the same level as professional hunters, but her strength just now was completely different from what Su Ming had heard in the rumours.

Xu Qianqian had been shocked and stunned by a simple illusion and couldn’t even see through Su Ming’s fake movements. She had been completely fooled by him. If she was on the same level as professional hunters, then she was far too overrated.

Not to mention, Xu Qianqian’s emotions had been too abnormal. Or perhaps it was more accurate to say that she had been too rash and impulsive.

This was nothing like what the Xu Qianqian Su Ming knew.

As far as Su Ming knew, Xu Qianqian in the academy was very calm and composed, almost cold. She would never act like she did today, charging at someone without hesitation, either killing them or herself. Every movement of hers was filled with impatience and rashness.

Adding to the fact that Xu Qianqian’s strength didn’t match the rumours, Su Ming suspected that there was something off about this Hunter Division’s Super Nova.

He never expected that Xu Qianqian would appear here with such serious injuries.

“What exactly did you run into?”

Su Ming frowned deeply.

But Xu Qianqian didn’t seem to have heard him.

“Let go of me!”

As if protesting Su Ming lifting her clothes, Xu Qianqian struggled with all her might despite her injuries.

Sss!”

Su Ming gasped.

Xu Qianqian had bitten down on his wrist breaking his skin, letting fresh blood flow out from his hand.

Su Ming could only let go of Xu Qianqian.

Blood rolled down the corner of Xu Qianqian’s mouth as she struggled to get up. She held her stomach, her face pale as she panted heavily.

Su Ming looked at this Xu Qianqian, then at his bleeding wrist.

This crazy woman!

“Since you’re so stubborn, Miss Xu, you can just stay here and wait to die,” Su Ming said coldly. “This young master isn’t interested in serving you.”

With that, Su Ming turned and left.

Xu Qianqian stared at Su Ming’s back, the killing intent in her eyes rising again as if she wanted to rush forward.

But, subconsciously, Xu Qianqian licked the blood from the corner of her mouth and swallowed it.

With that swallow, Xu Qianqian’s delicate body trembled slightly, and the killing intent in her eyes rapidly receded like the tides.

“What is this?”

Xu Qianqian’s eyes began to clear up.

The impatience and impulsiveness inside her disappeared, replaced by calmness and composure.

Not only that, but the injury on her abdomen was also healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Feeling all of this, Xu Qianqian couldn’t help but lift her head and look in Su Ming’s direction.

But by then, Su Ming had already left. His figure was nowhere to be seen.

Xu Qianqian’s eyes flashed slightly. Who knew what she was thinking.

A moment later, Xu Qianqian turned her head to look in another direction.

Boom

The explosions continued to sound from that direction, indicating that the fight had not yet ended.

Xu Qianqian struggled for a while before finally letting out a breath.

“The mission only asked me to investigate the suspicious organisation’s goals and origins. It didn’t ask me to stop them or get involved with them.”

Xu Qianqian, who had already calmed down, was finally able to make a wise decision.

Mainly, Xu Qianqian had been tracking this organisation for a while now. She knew that it would be extremely presumptuous of her to try to fight against a suspicious organisation with twenty or thirty hunters and warlocks with her own strength.

Because of her severe injuries, the brutality of the blood inside her body had been triggered, and she had rashly chosen to follow them without hesitation.

Now that she had calmed down, Xu Qianqian naturally wouldn’t do such a stupid thing again.

Besides, she also had more important things to investigate.

“Now who’s trying to harm me in secret.” Xu Qianqian clenched her teeth.

Then, Xu Qianqian turned around and left the scene.

On the other hand,

After leaving the suburb, Su Ming purposely took a detour to lose his trail. Only after confirming that he wouldn’t be followed did he take off his battle suit and mask and return to the academy.

By then, the sky was already beginning to lighten.

‘Fuck, I’m done for.’

Realising that he wouldn’t be able to make up for his lack of sleep, Su Ming’s mood became very gloomy.

Needless to say, there were classes today.

If he had been on a mission, he could have obtained permission from the academy to miss class, but Su Ming’s mission had been handed in yesterday and recorded. If he didn’t go to class, his attendance rate would be affected.

The Academy had very strict attendance requirements.

If a student’s attendance rate did not meet the requirements, the academy would send out a compulsory mission for them to carry out. If they didn’t carry out the mission, expulsion would become their only option.

And if they were expelled, they would not be able to obtain their warlock licence and become a professional warlock.

This way, Su Ming would no longer be able to enjoy the various privileges reserved for hunters and warlocks.

For example, he would not be able to purchase alchemy medicine, spirit demon materials, enter official markets or training facilities, and so on. This would affect Su Ming’s development.

In addition, people with warlock and hunter licences could be included in the right to damage property and even kill in emergencies.

It was precisely because of this that no one pursued the responsibility for the destruction of public property caused by Su Ming and the others on the streets yesterday. Some people even helped clean up the mess. Even though they were only students and had not yet obtained a proper licence.

These were the privileges of warlocks and hunters.

Humans needed warlocks and hunters to fight against spirit demons and the invasion of the Spiritual Demon Prison with their lives on the line, so naturally they would give them as many privileges as possible.

Therefore, Su Ming still valued this proper licence.

What Su Ming valued most was that the families of professional hunters and warlocks would enjoy special protection from the base city’s official government. They could live in the centre of the base city, which was a high-security area, and be protected by a large number of professionals, thus keeping them as far away from the threat of spirit demons as possible.

This privilege directly solved Su Ming’s worries about his family, not knowing when they would be attacked by spirit demons.

Considering all of this, whether it was for his own future or the safety of his family, even for the sake of those exclusive privileges, Su Ming didn’t want to be expelled from the Academy.

“It seems I have no choice but to do this today.”

Su Ming accepted his fate and walked heavily toward the dormitory.

When he returned, Lei Hao and Ye Bai were still asleep. Su Ming was a little envious.

He could only lie down as soon as possible and force himself to sleep for as long as he could.

In the end, Su Ming was still woken up after less than two hours of sleep.

“Hurry up and get up for morning training, Su Ming, Ye Bai!”

Lei Hao’s loud and energetic voice woke Su Ming and Ye Bai up early in the morning, making them both feel like they were about to collapse.

“Please spare me, Eldest Brother Lei, Daddy Lei, can you go train by yourself?”

Ye Bai begged while hugging his quilt, his eyes still half-closed.

“No!” Lei Hao shouted with a righteous conviction. “Whether you’re a hunter or a warlock, you both need to exercise your physical strength and learn combat techniques. This is a rule of the Academy. Do you guys want to fail the next test?”

“Why?” Ye Bai protested, on the verge of a breakdown. “Why do warlocks have to learn both spiritual techniques and combat techniques? Why can’t hunters just learn combat techniques?”

“It’s very simple.” Lei Hao responded bluntly, “Because we can never use spiritual techniques no matter what, but you warlocks can use combat techniques.”

That was the truth.

The combat techniques of the hunter were nothing more than techniques used in battle.

Whether it was martial arts or weapon techniques, these combat techniques were not to be trifled with when wielded by a strong-bodied hunter.

Warlocks certainly didn’t have the same level of physical strength as hunters, but in times of emergency when their spiritual energy was insufficient, they could still struggle with their physical strength and physical techniques.

In any case, everyone should exercise. There were only benefits and no downsides. It could even save your life in critical moments, so naturally the Academy required the warlocks of the Caster Division to follow along as well.

“Hurry and get up!. It’s getting more lively outside.”

Lei Hao didn’t care about Ye Bai’s expression of despair and dragged him out of bed.

Su Ming also had a face full of despair, but he didn’t resist and obediently got up.

After all, learning how to fight was also what Su Ming wanted.

To other warlocks, the combat techniques of the hunters were merely a way to keep fit. But that wasn’t the case for Su Ming.

His ambition was greater than anyone could imagine.

The Academy’s sports field was located in the centre of the campus, covering a vast area.

At this time, many hunters and warlocks had already left their dormitories and were running around the field.

Su Ming and Ye Bai yawned as they ran slowly like two snails.

They weren’t the only ones. Most of the Caster Division’s students were in the same state.

Clearly, the warlocks were tired of this kind of physical activity.

On the other hand, the hunters were full of energy. They ran fast while shouting and screaming, making it seem like they were in military training.

At that moment, a slight commotion appeared on the sports field.

Su Ming was slapped by Ye Bai.

“Look over there.”

Su Ming’s eyebrows shot up at the direction Ye Bai pointed.
