My Childhood Sweetheart Gradually Puffed Up CH.49

Chapter 49: Teacher, I Want to Have a Birthday Party

Fu Chengque planned to personally make some snacks for her childhood sweetheart.

This was an important piece of information she had just heard from Banben. Recently, Wen Yu had been fond of eating “balls,” and he refused to let it taste them, making Banben very curious about what they tasted like.

What kind of balls?

While Fu Chengque was surveying the bedroom, she noticed a box in the trash can labeled “pastry puffs.”

Shocked, Wen Yu actually liked eating pastry puffs.

Considering that those bought outside were expensive, had many additives, and were also light in quantity, Fu Chengque thought, if she could make him a super-sized pastry puff, would he be happy?

The sad part was, she didn’t have a clue how to make it.

So the next day, after arriving at school, she immediately sought help in the sisterhood group:

[All female warriors, help me conquer the world and unify the earth] (4)

【Fu Chengque】: Just asking, does anyone know how to make the snacks from the cake shop?

【Fang Ling】: Wow, this group actually came back to life.

【Xiao Gua】: This is the group excluding Wen Yu. Chengque is asking here, it must be related to Wen Yu, and she doesn’t want him to know.

【Fu Chengque】: [Cat disdain]

【Fu Chengque】: I want to make it myself.

【Fang Ling】: Xiao Min’s dream is to be a pastry chef. @ Lu Min, come out quickly and help poor Chengque.

【Lu Min】: What kind of snacks do you want to make?

【Fu Chengque】: Pastry puffs!

【Lu Min】: Ah, that’s simple. Do you want to learn?

【Fu Chengque】: [Cat joy] Yes!

【Lu Min】: I’ll teach you. How about this weekend, after the parent-teacher meeting?

【Lu Min】: Do you have an oven at home?

【Fu Chengque】: Uh… no.

【Lu Min】: No problem, come to my place then. I have the ingredients at home, so you don’t need to bring anything.

【Fang Ling】: I want to go too!

【Xiao Gua】: I also want to go and watch variety shows!

【Fu Chengque】: Don’t let Wen Yu find out…

The girls lifted their heads mischievously, looked at each other, and finally, their gaze fell collectively on Wen Yu’s face.

They smiled mysteriously.

Wen Yu didn’t notice these things because he was lost in thought.

Taking out his phone, he created a new group chat and added Fang Ling, Lu Min, and Xiao Gua.

【Chengque Birthday Planning Committee】(4)

【Wen Yu】: Everyone, Fu’s birthday is coming up. Let’s brainstorm how to arrange it for her.

【Fang Ling】: Wow, that’s too much…

【Xiao Gua】: These two…

【Lu Min】: [Cat speechless]

【Lu Min】: It’s indeed too much, but I like it.

【Xiao Gua】: Right, Chengque’s birthday is next month, and Wen Yu actually remembers.

【Wen Yu】: What’s too much? I’ve known about her birthday for ages, so what are your ideas?

【Xiao Gua】: Her previous birthdays were just simple outings with a couple of friends.

【Fang Ling】: Will it be the same this time? She seems not to like large gatherings.

【Lu Min】: Let’s organize a small gathering. The last one felt good.

【Wen Yu】: I also think so, but this time I want something different.

【Xiao Gua】: How different?

【Wen Yu】: Do you guys want to have a party without parents, the kind that can go from night till the next day?

【Xiao Gua】: Wow! That’s what we want!

【Lu Min】: Same thought!

【Fang Ling】: How can we do it without parents and even make noise at night?

【Wen Yu】: How about I rent a small villa?

【Xiao Gua】: CEO speaking, Wen Yu, do you have that much money?

【Wen Yu】: Uh, it was just a thought…

【Lu Min】: A villa is too extravagant, not necessary. But if we want to avoid disturbing others, we do need to find a place.

【Lu Min】: I’ll help ask around.

【Fang Ling】: Will the parents agree?

The group fell silent.

It’s quite challenging for students to organize a party they want to enjoy, especially one that lasts all night, which is difficult in China.

The parents are a significant concern, especially with Wen Yu, a boy, present.

Wen Yu felt they needed to find a way to reassure the parents…

After pondering for a while, Wen Yu finally decided to use grades and teachers as a breakthrough.

The afternoon sky was somewhat overcast, indicating it might rain.

Lu Min shared good news, which made her find a place.

Her cousin had a three-story building in a small area in Jiangcheng, near the suburbs, currently unoccupied, and available for free use for two days.

Wen Yu had originally planned to pay for rental, but Lu Min insisted on it being free, so he had to give up.

They could just pay extra for cleaning fees later.

Having the location settled would make communication much smoother.

During break time, Wen Yu went to Chen Xiongguo’s office.

Chen Xiongguo was preparing documents for the upcoming parent meeting.

Seeing Wen Yu come in, he spoke first, “Wen Yu, do you need something from the teacher?”

“Mr. Chen, I do.”

“Related to studies?”

“Personal life.”

“Ah, you actually came to me for personal matters. The school did ask me to pay more attention to your and Fu Chengque’s academic life.” He smiled, put down the work in his hands, picked up a teacup, turned to Wen Yu, sipped his tea, and said, “Go on, what’s the matter?”

Wen Yu hesitated for a moment, “Teacher, I want to organize a birthday party.”

“?”

Chen Xiongguo was stunned for a moment, somewhat doubting if he had misheard.

“What?”

“A birthday party, I want to organize one.”

“Whose birthday? Why? And why are you telling me?”

Chen Xiongguo’s head was spinning. Wen Yu, this kid, had changed from his former honest and simple self, and his thinking was somewhat unpredictable.

A student organizing a birthday party was too ordinary, but telling the teacher about it was quite unusual.

“Fu Chengque’s.”

Hearing this name, Chen Xiongguo made a “as expected” expression, but he was even more surprised.

“You and her are neighbors, your families are close, why wouldn’t you just organize a birthday party?”

“Teacher, I want to invite friends to have a party without parents present.”

“No parents?”

“Just ourselves.”

“Indeed sounds like what students would think of.”

“Teacher, are you available? I want to invite you to join this party.”

Chen Xiongguo sneered, put down the teacup, and bluntly exposed, “Are you really inviting me? You obviously just want me to be a shield and speak for you in front of those parents.”

“Hehe.”

“Alright, how many people?”

“Me, Fu Chengque, Peng Hui, Lu Min, Fang Ling.”

“You five, that’s not surprising. Where do you plan to do this?”

“Haven’t thought about it. I plan to rent a small place and then prepare.”

“Rent? Do you have money?”

“I’ve saved some money. Should be enough.”

“What about the impact on your studies?”

“Mr. Chen, my final goal hasn’t changed, and my confidence has even increased.”

Recently, my learning ability has improved.

“You’re quite bold to discuss these things with me.”

“Mr. Chen is one of the rare good teachers I’ve encountered, both a teacher and a friend, and has greatly helped me! It can be said that my current progress is largely thanks to you, Mr. Chen. It’s because you didn’t give up on me in my darkest moments…”

“Okay, okay.” Chen Xiongguo interrupted, his smile intensifying.

Seeing the situation stabilize, Wen Yu decided to apply stronger medicine.

“Mr. Chen, give me some time. I’m confident I can pull all of them into the top ten of the class.”

Chen Xiongguo was stunned, various thoughts swirling in his mind, with the most aggressive thought emerging:

Oh no, this kid is baiting me again!
