I Obviously Just Want to be a Minor Character CH.9

Chapter 9: Hello and Excuse Me!

An Zijin’s matter had spread throughout the entire Demon-Hunting Academy in less than three days.

Now, all the teachers and students of the Demon-Hunting Academy knew that this year’s top student was a rare flower like Xu Qianqian.

An Zijin had smoothly won everyone’s favour and was being pursued like crazy.

This pursuit even surpassed Xu Qianqian’s.

After all, An Zijin’s cuteness wasn’t just effective on boys; it was also incredibly lethal to girls.

This new school beauty of the Warlock Division became the little princess of the entire Demon-Hunting Academy in a few short days.

The saying “loved by all, flowers bloom at her touch, cars explode at her sight, ghosts reincarnate in her presence, and coffins open at her command” probably referred to someone like her.

Therefore, An Zijin’s popularity in the Demon-Hunting Academy could already be compared to Xu Qianqian’s, if not more.

And without a doubt, all the males of the Warlock Division had fallen for An Zijin and become her loyal subjects.

Take Ye Bai for example.

“Hey, Lei Hao, do you think An Zijin will be moved if I write my letter this way?”

After writing in the dormitory for an entire afternoon, Ye Bai held up his masterpiece and walked over to Lei Hao, who was currently shirtless and punching a sandbag. He excitedly asked for his friend’s opinion.

“Get lost!”

Lei Hao had originally been curious and glanced at it, but that one glance nearly made him vomit all the food he had eaten the day before. He could only give Ye Bai a loving and friendly greeting.

“My writing isn’t bad, right?” Ye Bai was still pleased with himself and even walked over to Su Ming, who was reading a book in his bed. “Su Ming, help me take a look too.”

“Big shot, stop.” Su Ming jumped off the bed without hesitation and ran away.

“Hey, don’t go!” Ye Bai quickly chased after him.

The three of them caused quite a commotion in the dormitory, making it feel as chaotic as a chicken farm.

In the end, Ye Bai could only reluctantly accept that he had been rejected by both Su Ming and Lei Hao.

“You guys are just jealous of me. You’re jealous of my writing skills, and jealous that I’m about to get to know An Zijin!” Ye Bai yelled at his two friends.

Su Ming and Lei Hao laughed.

Lei Hao even said bluntly, “You do know An Zijin, and have for a long time…” Lei Hao sneered, “Too bad she doesn’t know you.”

“What did you say??” Ye Bai glared at Lei Hao and shot back, “Do you think you’re not the same? Xu Qianqian doesn’t know you either.”

“What?” Lei Hao’s eyes widened. “Who said that? I’m definitely friends with Xu Qianqian, okay?”

“Then tell me.” Ye Bai wasn’t going to be fooled by Lei Hao and said sharply, “It’s been a year since we entered school. How many times has Xu Qianqian spoken to you since you got to know her?”

“Ah…” Lei Hao was speechless.

However, Su Ming could answer this question. “Report! I know!”

Su Ming raised his hand.

“Fellow Student Su, you may speak.” Ye Bai gave Su Ming an encouraging look.

“Hey! Su Ming!” Lei Hao was anxious.

But Su Ming didn’t care and exposed him.

“From the way things usually go when I hang out with Young Master Lei, Xu Qianqian has probably only said two things to him: hello and excuse me!”

The honest Su Ming didn’t even realise he was exposing someone else’s shortcomings.

This completely broke Lei Hao’s defences.

“I- I- I will definitely make her say another thing to me this year!” Lei Hao declared with a red face and a thick neck.

This only made Su Ming and Ye Bai even more confused.

“Oh, Old Lei.” Ye Bai looked at Lei Hao with pity.

Su Ming held a book in one hand and patted Lei Hao on the shoulder with the other. His actions were gentle and full of comfort, and everything was left unsaid.

Thus, Lei Hao cried. “Damn it!”

A beat after, Lei Hao burst into tears and ran out of the dormitory in shame.

“Wait! Old Lei! Your clothes!”

Ye Bai grabbed Lei Hao’s shirt and stood at the door of their dormitory, waving it high above his head. His voice rang loud and clear.

In an instant, countless people poked their curious heads out from the windows and doors of the dormitories.

“Look! Haozi is crying!”

“No! He’s running around naked!”

“Why is Ye Bai holding Haozi’s clothes and yelling?”

“Could it be…”

In a flash, all the rough men in the dormitories began to exercise their imaginations. Someone even handed Ye Bai a long and thin elastic steel sword, which nearly made Ye Bai lose control and stab that brother in the rear.

As for Su Ming, he continued reading without the slightest hint of guilt.

Of course, it was a book on the spiritual technique Heaven and Earth Reversal.

Su Ming knew that with his current lack of spiritual energy, he couldn’t use this spiritual technique for some time. However, that didn’t hinder him from deepening his understanding of it and preparing himself to use it in the future.

Ye Bai didn’t know the book Su Ming was reading wasn’t an ordinary book, but rather a book on the eighty-eighth spiritual form.

Under these circumstances, Ye Bai naturally didn’t realise he was interrupting Su Ming’s study. He held up his masterpiece and walked over to Su Ming.

“Su Ming,” Ye Bai said, his voice filled with three parts flattery, three parts nervousness, and four parts bashfulness.

Su Ming immediately grew wary.

There was nothing he could do about it; this guy’s expression was just too weird, and the long and thin elastic steel sword in his hand certainly didn’t rest his case.

Su Ming couldn’t help but take a step back.

“What are you doing?” Su Ming asked, alarmed. “I’m warning you, don’t try anything funny. I’m straight!”

“I’m also straight!” Ye Bai was frustrated and tossed away the sword. “I’m not trying to spar with you, I’m trying to ask for your help to deliver a letter!”

“Deliver a letter?” Su Ming was stunned. Then, his face filled with shock. “Not to An Zijin, right?”

“You’re as smart as they say.” Ye Bai’s expression was ecstatic. “You’re so clever.”

However, Ye Bai’s shameless praise didn’t make Su Ming happy at all.

“No way!” Su Ming rejected him without hesitation.

“Why not?” Ye Bai’s face was full of disbelief, looking as if he had been betrayed by the person he trusted the most.

Su Ming felt a little disgusted!

“How have I wronged you to make you want me dead?” Su Ming asked in disbelief. “Have you not seen what happened to those people who gave An Zijin gifts and love letters these past few days?”

Recently, there had been people in the Demon-Hunting Academy who had given An Zijin gifts and love letters, and some had even confessed on the spot, hoping to become her lover.

But their fate could only be described as tragic.

It wasn’t because An Zijin rejected them, but because they were blocked by An Zijin’s fan club.

Yes, An Zijin already had her own fan club.

From this, one could see how popular An Zijin was.

The most ridiculous part was how most members of this fan club were girls, with even the captain of the fan club being a senior sister from the Warlock Division.

Their motto was “Protecting the Cutest Xiao Zijin in the World”, and they believed that all men who wanted to get close to their darling had dirty and filthy intentions.

And so, in order to protect her, they stopped them all. Even the teachers had to pass through their approval before being considered safe.

One could easily imagine what would happen if someone gave An Zijin a gift or a confession letter that way.

The person who had confessed that way had since become hated by almost all the seniors in the academy. They spread rumours and scandals about him everywhere, even digging up his secret hobby of doing unknown needlework in his dormitory and exposing it, making the confessor lose his right and will to date during his time in the Demon-Hunting Academy.

Su Ming didn’t have any intention of finding a partner here, but he didn’t want to be exposed either.

Su Ming only felt that this bastard wanted to get him killed.

He couldn’t possibly refuse outright.

“But… but you’re the only one who can help me!” Ye Bai said hurriedly. “Old Lei is already in tears and has someone he likes, so he definitely doesn’t want to mess it up. The others are out of the question. Only you, the one who thinks women affect growth, can help me, Boss Su Ming!”

In other words, he was asking Su Ming to sacrifice his own right to find a partner and help him instead.

“(・へ・╬)!”

The character “well” (井) appeared on Su Ming’s forehead, symbolising his anger.

I may not be human, but you really are a dog.

Just as Su Ming was cursing Ye Bai, a beautiful figure appeared outside the main entrance of the boys’ dormitory.

“This is the boys’ dormitory, right?”

The beautiful girl looked at the dormitory before her with a hint of curiosity in her eyes.

She had been studying at the Demon-Hunting Academy for so long, but she had never come to this dormitory or seen what it looked like.

She had thought she would never come to such a place, but fate was truly unpredictable.

“He should be there, right?”

The girl pondered for a moment before stepping forward and heading to the boys’ dormitory.

At that moment, a black shadow suddenly rushed towards her.

The girl immediately tensed up.

However, the shadow started crying and screaming at the same time.

“Damn! I’ll definitely make Xu Qianqian say three words to me! T_T”

The shadow who was screaming and running around without a shirt on was naturally Lei Hao, the young master of the Lei Family.

“Eh?” The girl was dumbfounded.

Had she just heard something?

While the girl was confused, Lei Hao also noticed her.

“You… you.” Lei Hao stopped in his tracks, staring at the girl with a blank expression.

“Hello,” the girl said, hesitating for a moment. In the end, she chose to continue speaking to Lei Hao. “Excuse me, is Su Ming here?”

Lei Hao didn’t reply. He stood there silently, before exclaiming, “Xu Qianqian talked to me three times!”

Lei Hao was so happy he cried.

Xu Qianqian was once again dumbfounded.
