The Players And The Protagonist Want To Kill Me – Volume 1, Chapter 35

Chapter 35: This Sword, I’ve Practiced for Fifteen Years

The duel that would decide the fate of Dawn Town quickly became the talk of the entire town. Even the players pitched in, clearing a large space outside the town walls for the spectacle.

Both factions assembled, standing atop the newly erected city wall of Dawn Town, gazing out into the distance.

Two hundred meters away, on the designated dueling ground, Ye Hao and Sivey had already started to clash fiercely.

Neither of them wasted time on flashy maneuvers. Upon releasing their Qi, they immediately activated their Amplified Skills and launched into a direct assault.

Ye Hao, having matured significantly from his past setbacks, exuded a newfound stability. He spared no words, wholly concentrating on the battle.

His eyes showed no hint of underestimation, only a mix of hatred and vigilance.

Observing this, Sivey began to regard this Child of Destiny with greater respect. Indeed, those destined to be protagonists were far from ordinary.

However, just because Ye Hao didn’t speak didn’t mean Sivey wouldn’t. As a proper villain, he couldn’t help but say some superficial words to harass the protagonist.

He had gradually immersed himself in his role.

Sivey cleaved Ye Hao’s Longsword with a fierce sword strike, took advantage of the opening to deliver a kick, and then, in the gentlest voice and the most frivolous tone, spewed the most sarcastic trash talk at Ye Hao.

“Hey, why are you so silent today, kid?”

“Why are you grinding your teeth? Is your mouth too hot?”

“Why don’t you dance the electric butt dance like last time?”

“Do you have no strength because you didn’t have breakfast?”

Ye Hao’s face turned red, not knowing if it was from anger or being kicked.

He didn’t respond to Sivey’s taunts. After quickly stabilizing his posture, he squatted down on one knee, activated Acceleration, and instantly rushed to Sivey’s front.

His Longsword slashed at a strange angle, while his left hand, like a poisonous snake, reached out, revealing a dagger.

The blade of the dagger was blackened, obviously poisoned.

“You old schemer, poisoning the dagger, you really think of everything!”

“Darn it, how could I be outwitted by you?” Ye Hao cursed inwardly, though he maintained a stoic silence outwardly.

With a sword in one hand and a poisoned dagger in the other, he spun like a whirlwind, swift as lightning, exuding a formidable presence.

His blade left afterimages in its wake, and he moved with the grace of a butterfly dancing in the wind.

In the air, the continuous clash of weapons echoed, stirring the hearts of those watching from the city wall.

The blue and golden Qi collided and exploded, the scattered energy turning into howling winds that tore apart the surrounding vegetation.

Sivey seized an opportunity, swiftly dodging the poisoned dagger, and at this moment, his massive sword had been dragged behind him by his right hand.

Faced with Ye Hao’s approaching Longsword, it seemed there was nowhere to escape.

His face turned serious, and he shouted, “Rise!”

The heavy Greatsword, originally dragged behind him, was plowed into the ground by Sivey’s immense strength. The power of Frenzy blasted away the earth and stones, followed by an upward cleave.

Ye Hao’s pupils shrank, quickly withdrawing after dodging Sivey’s cleave. Eagle Lord’s swordsmanship was heavy and powerful; if hit, even if he didn’t die, he would be severely injured.

He was somewhat puzzled. The person who had been suppressed by him in the past fights had become so fierce now.

But now wasn’t the time for him to ponder. After dodging Sivey’s cleave, he immediately unleashed an enhanced version of Cross Light Slash.

He had judged the timing very accurately. Ye Hao seemed to have seen the dawn of victory.

Facing the swiftly approaching Cross Light Slash, Sivey’s brain throbbed with a strong sense of crisis, and his eyes widened with pain.

He knew that if he were hit by this powerful Cross Light Slash, he would surely die. Yet, he still didn’t activate his Heroic-level armor to block Ye Hao’s move.

After all, external objects were just external objects.

Although he was a villain in this life, he still had his own pride.

“I have been practicing the heavy sword for more than ten years.”

Sivey took a deep breath, his eyes narrowed slightly, the massive sword held in reverse behind him. A heavy and oppressive aura began to condense around him, reaching its peak at a certain moment.

Suddenly, he looked up at the Cross Light Slash, his spirit accompanying the concentration of all his strength on the right hand holding the sword.

The huge sword began to be driven by Sivey’s power, and what was also driven was the sword momentum that had reached its extreme, roaring like a tsunami.

In the blink of an eye, golden Qi surged out with the sword momentum. Sivey vaguely saw the figure of his master, who had split a mountain with a sword when he was four years old.

“Boom!”

Sivey’s huge sword split vertically in front of him, shattering the Cross Light Slash and also shattering Ye Hao’s heart.

The smoke dispersed.

On the ground in front of Sivey, only a crack tens of meters long remained, running diagonally near Ye Hao’s feet, less than half a meter away from him.

Ye Hao stared blankly and emptily ahead, his hands still in the posture of splitting the light.

After a moment, he trembled all over, his legs no longer able to support his body, and with a “plop,” he knelt to the ground.

Only after the scythe of the God of Death passed by did he realize how afraid of death he was.

“I lost.”
