My Childhood Sweetheart Gradually Puffed Up CH.94

Chapter 94: Empress’s Wish Ticket

School ended early that day, and there wasn’t much left to do—actually, many had already begun to move their things back home in the preceding days.

Wen Yu and Fu Chengque went home together, but the heavy snow made the roads difficult to traverse, accompanied by a biting cold wind.

Fu Chengque was unaffected, as joyful as a newly hatched bird.

“Wow! Look at the snow! Haha! I told you it would snow!”

“You said that yesterday, didn’t you?”

“And doesn’t it take time for the snow to fall from the sky?”

“… “

She rushed towards the thick layer of snow piled up on the side of the road, scooping up a handful and scattering it.

Then, with bright eyes, she exclaimed, “Wow!” and made a snowball, throwing it towards Wen Yu.

The snowball was fast, but unfortunately, it missed its mark by a wide margin, landing heavily in a bush and disappearing.

Wen Yu exclaimed, “Are you trying to kill me?”

“Don’t be afraid of snowballs, they don’t hurt,” Fu Chengque laughed and threw a few more over.

Wen Yu got angry, reached out to grab a handful of snow, and made a soft snowball, ready to retaliate.

Fu Chengque, feeling she had gradually found her touch, was about to throw a couple more snowballs, but as soon as she looked up, a white lump hit her forehead with precision. With a “pu” sound, she staggered back a few steps and sat down in the snow.

After a moment of stunned silence, the girl burst into laughter, then exclaimed, “Good… good shot!”

Then she got up, grabbed a giant snowball, and charged towards Wen Yu without hesitation…

As the two got on the bus, Fu Chengque didn’t say a word on the 178 route, silently watching the scenery outside.

When they switched to the 211 route, there were fewer people.

Outside, snow was still falling, creating a romantic scene.

Sitting by the window, Fu Chengque withdrew her gaze from the snowy cityscape and looked at Wen Yu quietly for a while.

Time flies, it feels like she just turned her head, but when she looked back again, the boy next to her was almost an adult.

Everyone is changing, including her.

Even half a year ago, she was a completely different person compared to now.

Sometimes she even feels ashamed, uncomfortable, or angry about some of her past behaviors.

Is this change? Is this growing up?

Apart from this, what else is there?

It’s really hard to understand.

Lost in thought for a while, she finally said, “Wen Yu, I want to sincerely thank you.”

Wen Yu met her gaze but was puzzled, “Why are you suddenly saying this?”

“Because I’ve never said it before.” She chuckled twice and continued, “Do you know? When I first formed the study group, half of it was just for fun, and the other half was because of some selfish reasons.”

“Oh?”

“Yeah… Anyway, at first, I didn’t even inform you before adding you into it, right?”

“That’s true. But I didn’t mind.” Wen Yu recalled, “You invited me, and I was really happy. After all, I’m a boy, and you’re all girls.”

“Yeah, but later on, I really felt happy.” The girl seemed to immediately be lost in memories. “Right? We climbed mountains together, studied together, went out together… did a lot of things we had never done before.”

Her gaze refocused, and she looked seriously at Wen Yu. “You, from the beginning of being indifferent, gradually became involved. For my birthday party, you went out of your way to handle things with the teachers and parents. This time, too, you put in a lot of effort to tutor us so that Teacher Chen could be reassured. I noticed that you’ve been waking up later than usual these past few days, and you even have some dark circles under your eyes…”

“…Even if it actually has nothing to do with you, you’re still supporting the group, aren’t you?”

“So, Wen Yu, thank you.”

“Thank you very much!”

She smiled brightly.

Wen Yu was touched, stammered a few times, but didn’t say anything.

Selfishness, didn’t he have any? Didn’t he rely on his understanding of Fu Chengque from his previous life to get closer to her, her dream of becoming an actress?

Sensing a slightly serious atmosphere, Fu Chengque nodded to herself and said, “To not let General Wen’s hard work go to waste, I, Empress Chengque, will definitely work super super hard to repay General Wen. I’ll do my best on tomorrow’s exam! With the most care, the best results, the sincerest feelings, and—”

The girl suddenly smirked mischievously.

Then she reached into her bag, rummaged around for a moment, and pulled out a colorful piece of paper that had been scribbled on.

“And this ‘Empress Wish Voucher,’ thanks to General Wen for the great support to this empress!”

Then she stuffed the paper into Wen Yu’s hand.

A square piece of paper, with patterns drawn on it, and in the center it said “Empress Wish Voucher,” with a line of small text below to explain:

After using this voucher, Empress Chengque will help Wen Yu fulfill one wish or request. Can only be used once!

Wen Yu looked at the paper and couldn’t help but laugh.

“Too childish!”

“Don’t give it back to me!”

He took the paper back.

“Of course I want it! How can I not want it. It just reminds me of the sachet you gave me when we were kids…” Wen Yu chuckled, “Do you know, people say you’re like a child?”

Fu Chengque widened her eyes. “Who! I’ll tear his mouth off!”

“I don’t know, I don’t know either, hahaha.”

“Hmph! I bet it’s you who said that.”

“You’re accusing me out of nowhere.”

“It must be you!”

***

After getting off the 211 bus, there was still a bit of the journey home left.

The road was slippery, and Wen Yu walked cautiously.

He looked at Fu Chengque, who was swaying, and said with a smile, “General Fu, can I use your voucher for any wish?”

“Of course not!” Fu Chengque stopped walking, “It has to be something healthy, positive, and something I can accomplish.”

“Such as?”

“Such as… making you a meal, feeding the cat, things like that.”

“Such a lame Empress.”

“What did you say?”

“A little bit lame.”

“I’ll shark you!”

January nineteenth, heavy snowfall.

The Empress was humiliated outside, the thief rampant, the Empress furious, taking a few steps to strike, but ended up falling.

By eight or nine o’clock that night, the snow had piled up to three fingers thick. This was quite a rare heavy snowfall in the history of Jiangcheng.

Wen Yu was upstairs reading to cultivate his character when he heard Fu Chengque downstairs under the streetlight calling him.

“General Wen! Wen Yu! Come down! Come down!”

“What’s up?”

“Let’s play in the snow!”

“It’s cold.”

“Hurry up, next year, who knows if there will be snow.”

Wen Yu thought for a moment, realizing that there might indeed be no snow next year.

So he put on thick clothes and went downstairs.

As he stepped out of the building, he remained vigilant, peeking out and quickly retreating. As expected, a large snowball grazed past him and hit the wall.

Immediately after, Fu Chengque sighed regretfully, “Ah, you can even dodge that!”

Wen Yu sneered, “You think you can ambush me?”

But the girl ignored him, running to a snow-covered tree and waving her phone.

“Wen Yu, help me, help me, I want to take a picture!”

Wen Yu leisurely went to take the phone. Just as he reached her, the girl suddenly exclaimed, kicked the tree trunk!

Suddenly, snow cascaded down like a waterfall…
