Grab The Heroine and Run Away Ch. 44.1

“Whatever whatever whatever!”

Xu Heran let go of Xin Nuo’s face, looked at Mu Yiyue with a cold, irritated expression, and couldn’t help but sneer, “Still not leaving? Do you want me to invite you?”

“You!” Mu Yiyue’s expression twisted. Even someone as attractive as him became unlikable when he had such a fierce look and cold gaze. Mu Yiyue took a deep breath, recognizing Xu Heran as the daughter of the Universal Group, the one he had just badmouthed in front of Xin Nuo.

Mu Yiyue knew that this trip today was bound to be fruitless. He took a deep breath, donned his mask, concealing his angry face, and said in a low voice to Xin Nuo, “Think it over carefully.”

“Think about what?”

Xu Heran raised an eyebrow, watching the angry man’s back, and shouted, “Wait!”

“Didn’t your parents teach you not to litter?” The pink-haired girl pulled out the flattened bouquet and walked up to Mu Yiyue, handing it to him.

“Returning this to you.”

Mu Yiyue’s expression was so unpleasant to look at that it was unbearable. Veins stood out on his neck, and he clenched his fist tightly. He snatched the bouquet from Xu Heran’s hand, “bang,” pushed the door open, and smashed the bouquet into the trash can by the door. Amid the horrified gaze of passersby, he got into his car and quickly drove away.

“Hmph.”

Xu Heran raised her hands and clapped to dust it off.

Behind her, the girl with black hair narrowed her eyes and came over, hugging Xu Heran’s waist. “So fierce.”

“That person is a bit fierce.” Xu Heran nodded.

Xin Nuo laughed, “I meant you’re fierce.”

Xu Heran: “???”

She squinted her eyes, turned around, and held onto Xin Nuo’s shoulder.

“Stand properly for me!” Xu Heran decided to give Xin Nuo a demonstration of what it meant to be fierce. She loosened Xin Nuo’s grip, made her stand straight, and then crossed her arms, scrutinizing Xin Nuo from head to toe.

The girl with black hair stood there with a smile, placing her hands behind her back, with her left hand holding her right hand.

The scent of freshly baked bread wafted through the air, warm and inviting. The server carefully packed the takeout food that the customer had ordered into a cute bag, then held the bag in both hands and walked toward the bustling corner. However, before the server could reach the table, she heard a low reprimand.

“Not keeping wifely virtues!”

The server’s hands trembled, and the bag almost slipped off her fingertips.

“I work hard outside every day, all for what? For whom? Isn’t it for this family, for you! Yet you dared to go out behind my back, showing your face to everyone, and even learned how to seduce people, didn’t you! Tell me, who is that man? Why did he give you flowers?”

The server trembled as she raised her eyes and saw a girl wearing a white baseball cap. Just looking at her eyes, she knew she was a beauty. The girl said plaintively, “I don’t know…”

“Still lying!” The girl with the black baseball cap angrily picked up the huge bouquet from the table. Because the bouquet was so large, she hadn’t gripped it properly. She held it with both hands and stuffed it into the white baseball cap girl’s arms.

“When you give birth to this child, we’ll get a divorce! In the Xu Family, we can’t have a woman like you who flirts around!” Xu Heran put her hands on her hips, thought for a moment, and continued, “Even if you come over and kiss me with all your might, I won’t forgive you!”

The server standing stiffly two meters away trembled. She doubted her ears. Was everything she heard real? Did it happen in this era? And wait a minute… two girls?

Having a child?

The server skeptically considered the current level of technology. In the corner of her eye, she saw the girl wearing the white baseball cap move. She shook her head, and the brim of the cap covering half of her face made her expression unclear. She only saw her pick up the bouquet in her arms and jostle it.

Then…

“Smack!”

The pink bouquet landed with a “smack” on Xu Heran’s bottom.

“Forgive who?”

Xin Nuo raised her lips, “Hm?”

Xu Heran immediately burst into laughter, covering her rear and dodging. When she looked up, she locked eyes with the server.

Server: Stunned.

“Hey!” Xu Heran waved with a smiling squint, “Is it ours?”

“Ah… yes,” the server mumbled.

Ah… no more having a child?

Xin Nuo asked Xu Heran to pick up the bouquet from the ground and apologized to the server, “Sorry, do you have cleaning supplies? We’d like to tidy up this area.”

“No… no need, it’s fine!” The server shook her head hastily. She placed the bag in her hands on the table and looked at Xu Heran. Her pupils contracted, her gaze uncertain. She recognized Xu Heran. “You, you’re… that person! Xu Heran, right?”

“Little Pearl! I’ve seen your show!”

“Shh, shh, keep it low-key.” Xu Heran gestured with her hand, smiling mischievously.

The server nodded in pleasant surprise, then looked at Xin Nuo. If what Xu Heran said was true, then this person who had covered herself so tightly must be Xin Nuo. They were probably just playing around earlier. It turned out that their private relationship was really as good as it appeared on the show!

“This bouquet is my apology. I’m really sorry,” Xin Nuo apologized again and handed the pink bouquet from her arms to the server.

“Thank you, thank you! Um, can we take a photo together?” The server whispered.

“Sure.”

Xin Nuo and Xu Heran took a photo with the server, and then Xin Nuo had Xu Heran held the white roses from the ground for another photo. After taking an extra picture, Xin Nuo picked up her bag and left the café with Xu Heran.

“Bought so many?” Xu Heran opened the bag and glanced inside, smiling as she asked.

Xin Nuo lowered her head and fiddled with her phone, casually saying, “Yeah, I remembered we were all together when I bought them.”

“Hehe.”

Xu Heran placed the white roses in the aisle between them. Thinking of what happened earlier, she frowned. “Who was that guy?”

“Why did he give you flowers?” Xu Heran remembered this incident. If she hadn’t seen someone suddenly give flowers to Xin Nuo, she wouldn’t have hurriedly rushed to the nearby flower shop and had the florist bundle the flowers in the two vases together, then dashed into the café.

Xin Nuo put down her phone, turned her head, and looked at Xu Heran. She had taken off her mask and hat, her beautiful eyes now uncovered, and a hint of a smile passed through her pitch-black gaze. “Take a look.”

She raised her hand and pointed outside the window.

Xu Heran immediately turned her head, and on a fleeting bus stop sign, there was a huge poster of a man.

Compared to the man whose face turned black in anger and who Xu Heran had mocked just now, the man in the poster was charming and elegant, dressed immaculately.

“Oh~” Xu Heran’s tone floated up and then came down. A celebrity, huh!

“Who’s that?” Xu Heran asked again. “I don’t know why, but I really dislike him. Seriously, he has no chemistry! Is he an actor? One of those who specialize in playing major villains?”

Xin Nuo chuckled and looked gently at Xu Heran. It was always like this. As long as Xu Heran was around, she would be very happy.

“He’s Mu Yiyue, the film emperor of Dream Entertainment, a highly popular male actor in the entertainment industry this year,” Xin Nuo explained.

Xu Heran nodded, feeling even more puzzled. “Then how did he come to find you? How did he know you were here? He even dared to stalk you!”

Xiao Pearl clenched her fist and gritted her teeth. “He’s a pervert!”

Xin Nuo laughed even louder, leaning against the seat and looking at Xu Heran from a reclined position.

“This morning, the Dream Entertainment manager blocked me at the hospital entrance, advising me to leave Universal Entertainment and sign with Dream. I refused. Mu Yiyue came to find me, probably for this matter,” Xin Nuo explained.

“Isn’t he an artist? An Emperor in the film industry still needs to work as a manager for a company. He’s really free, isn’t he?” Xu Heran felt it was all very perplexing.

“Well…” Xin Nuo said in a hushed voice, “because he holds shares in Dream Entertainment, quite a lot of them, he’s one of the major shareholders of Dream Entertainment.”

Of course, he cared about the future development of Dream Entertainment and wasn’t hesitant to offer his opinions on its future.

Xu Heran understood. Sister Cui had mentioned during their casual conversation that Dream Entertainment hadn’t been doing well for the past two to three years. While it looked lavish on the surface and was one of the top three talent agencies in the entertainment industry, many lower-tier artists had left the company. Mu Yiyue’s sudden rise this year had indeed resolved the crisis Dream Entertainment was facing, but behind Mu Yiyue, there was a gap in the artist lineup. They couldn’t nurture new talents to the first or second-tier positions.

“Ignore him. You just signed the contract, and he comes looking for you immediately. These people never considered your situation. I think they just want to test the waters. Even if it doesn’t work out, they can still cause you and the company trouble, sow discord!” Xu Heran said indignantly. “Petty people! If they really want to sign someone, they should have the guts to bring breach-of-contract penalties with them. Using a couple of flowers and their mouths is just a joke!”

Upon hearing Xu Heran’s words, Xin Nuo looked surprised and glanced at Xu Heran. She reached out, grabbing Xu Heran’s finger, her tone as if she was looking at her own child who had been accepted into a prestigious university.

“Pearl, how are you so clever?”

Xu Heran proudly said, “I’ve always been smart, okay!”

Xin Nuo nodded repeatedly, chuckling softly. “I see. I thought you were just skilled at sowing discord, so you saw through the enemy’s abilities at a glance.”

“…”

Xu Heran: “?”

“Isn’t that so?” Xin Nuo laughed, holding Xu Heran’s fingertip.

When they were at the training camp, they chatted during breaks and summarized Little Pearl’s skill set: Instigating quarrels, playing both sides, pretending to be innocent, resorting to aegyo when cornered, and emergency usage of kisses.

“Tch!” Xu Heran playfully grabbed Xin Nuo’s palm in return. Both of them stretched their fingers across the aisle, playfully waving above the white rose bushes.

“Don’t think the enemy is stupid just because I’m smart!” She admonished Xin Nuo in a serious tone.

Xin Nuo smiled softly, “Yes, yes, yes, you’re right.”

The car passed through the towering buildings, heading towards their new home. In the bustling city, as the continuous greenery came into view, both of them let out a sigh of relief simultaneously.

“We’re back~”

Xu Heran hopped out of the car with her belongings.

“Xu Heran, you better get out of the car properly!” Cui Qi stood at the doorway, shouting.

From the second floor of the villa, a figure emerged from the western-facing balcony. Jiang Qiong excitedly waved at them.

“Xu Pearl, Mom is incredible! Each of our rooms is so beautiful!” She urged, “Both of you, come up quickly. We’re waiting to see yours!”

“Sure.” Xu Heran carried the flowers and walked inside, grinned at Cui Qi who was eyeing her at the door, and hurried in.

“What’s going on?” Cui Qi walked alongside Xin Nuo, “I saw the Weibo post you made. Mu Yiyue actually went to see you. Did he not think things through?”

Xin Nuo smiled and said softly, “Well, Pearl and I really pissed him off.”

Cui Qi furrowed her brows and thought for a moment. “Forget it, if you’ve offended him, you’ve offended him. With Universal Entertainment around, I doubt he’d dare to do anything to you.”

“If the artists under Dream Entertainment are so free, they should hurry up and get on set to film. At least that can earn them money. Is there a commission for luring artists away from their managers?” Cui Qi exclaimed angrily.

“Well… Mu’s like an emperor of acting now and seems to hold shares in Dream Entertainment,” Xin Nuo hesitated in expression, giving Cui Qi a quick look.

Cui Qi immediately thought of something. After spending so many years in Dream Entertainment, and now becoming popular, Mu Yiyue bought shares in the company. Did he use these shares to tempt Xin Nuo?

“Nuo Nuo, I believe in you. You have a good relationship with Ran Ran and have come this far with everyone. I believe you wouldn’t casually agree to something and abandon everything you have now. I promise you, Universal Entertainment treats everyone with absolute sincerity, and we will never favor one over the other.”

Xin Nuo nodded and smiled gently.

“I know, Sister Cui. Don’t worry, as long as Universal Entertainment keeps supporting and protecting me like this, I won’t be the first one to let go,” Xin Nuo whispered.

“Good.”

Cui Qi smiled, watching Xin Nuo enter. As soon as the door closed, her brow furrowed.

Dream Entertainment was going too far. Didn’t they have any sense of ethics or goodwill? How many naive young artists did Mu Yiyue manage to deceive with his status and so-called shares? And about this matter with Mu Yiyue using Dream’s shares, why wasn’t she aware of it? It was hidden quite deep.

“Heh.”

Cui Qi stood at the villa entrance, hands on hips, and gave a cold smile.

Since Dream Entertainment was being unreasonable, don’t blame her for not being polite. They wanted to snatch people? Well then, everyone should rely on their own abilities!

“Nuo Nuo, you’re so slow, come on!”

Xu Heran was still holding the flowers, standing by the elevator door.

“Put down the flowers.” Xin Nuo stood at the door changing shoes. The shoes were moving-in gifts from Sister Cui – eight pairs of differently colored starry slippers.

“Sure!”

Xu Heran looked left and right, took two steps forward, and placed the bouquet on the shelf of Ball No. 1 that was passing by.

Ball No. 1 opened its oval blue eyes and with a childish voice, said, “Hello there, is there anything I can help you with?”

“Shut up!” Xu Heran snapped, “Change your voice for me!”

“Why bully Ball No. 1? Be careful, her godmother might come down to scold you,” Xin Nuo grabbed her arm and pulled her into the elevator.

“What?” Xu Heran was shocked, “She’s a robot!”

“Tell Yueyin and the others about it,” Xin Nuo chuckled and raised her hand to tap Xu Heran’s chin, “I’m just Ball No. 1’s aunt.”

Xu Heran: “…”

“…&#¥¥#*”

“Hmm?” Xin Nuo raised an eyebrow.

Xu Heran pressed the elevator button forcefully, lips pursed, “Nothing!”

Big Pearl could adapt to circumstances.

Humph!

Upon their return, Xu Heran and Xin Nuo excitedly encountered the six girls who had been running around in various rooms. They quickly gathered behind the two, waiting for them to open the doors.

The villa had two floors, with four rooms on each floor – two on the left and two on the right, facing each other. Between the two rooms in the middle was a decently sized dressing room. The middle of each floor had a platform, a tea area, and a balcony, with soft sofas and carpets. Each person’s room had its own small balcony.

Xu Heran grasped the door handle and shouted, “Ta-da!”

At the moment the door opened, the seven of them rushed in.

“Wow—”

Each of their rooms was equally spacious, furnished with products from the same company. However, the style of each room was different, with different bedding, tables, chairs, cabinets, and decorations.

“What’s this? It’s quite similar to my bedroom style back in Blue Nation,” Xu Heran said with a grin. Her mom loved dressing her up like a fairy tale princess when she was young, giving her the feeling of living in a fairy tale castle. Now that she had grown up, her mom had toned it down a bit, but her room was still full of soft, plush feelings.

“Cute!” Laurel nodded, her laughter especially abundant today.

“The Fenghua Bedroom furniture has a woodland blue vibe. Yueyin’s room gives off a modern, independent woman vibe, and Weinings’ room immediately makes you feel that she’s a gentle girl,” Jiang Qiong said, “Haya’s is in the French style, and my room is just really adorable!”

“Mom must think I’m super cute!”

“Oh, right, right.” Xu Heran rubbed her head and glanced at the huge desk by the window, surprised, “What’s this?”

A few of them walked over, and there was a large bookshelf beside the desk, filled with books. On the desk, there was a sheet of letter paper, without an envelope, as if it was meant for everyone to see.

Xin Nuo lowered her head, quickly glanced at it, and chuckled, “Zhuzhu, Mom said there’s a study on the basement floor. She also prepared a study room for you. She reminded you not to forget to study even after your debut, as you’ll be taking the college entrance exams in two years.”

Xu Heran widened her eyes in shock, “What! Isn’t she going a bit overboard? Isn’t the basement floor supposed to have a game room and a cinema?”

Who puts a study next to a game room!

“Mom said she wants us to keep an eye on you,” Jiang Qiong said with a cheerful grin, “No choice, you’re so young, little sister.”

Xu Heran immediately glared at Jiang Qiong, “Are you really that much older?”

“Heh, I’m already a junior this year. Just started school, and I’ve already taken a leave of absence,” Jiang Qiong finished, looking to the side.

Jian Yueyin smiled but didn’t say anything. Graduates fear nothing.

“You’re already a junior?” Haya asked Jiang Qiong, suddenly remembering, “Oh right, besides Sister Yueyin, it’s just you in our house.”

Lin Weinings glanced at Haya, “I’m the same age as Jiang Qiong.”

They were both twenty years old.

“Quick, call us older sisters, you little brats!” Jiang Qiong proudly proclaimed.

“Hmph, you’re the most childish,” a certain little pearl remarked, angrily tucking the letter paper away and locking it in a drawer.

Among the group, Laurel touched her nose, “I’ve been on a leave of absence for two years.”

Jian Yueyin spoke gently, “You still need to study well and go to college.”

Laurel nodded slightly. Xu Heran immediately brightened up, “Flower, come on! Let’s study together!”

Having someone to study with was great!

Laurel’s face wrinkled as she waved her hand, “Forget it, forget it.”

“Come on, come on,” the seven of them chimed in unison.

They exchanged glances and burst into laughter.

“Let’s go, let’s go to Xin Nuo’s room and take a look!”

The seven of them rushed excitedly to the door connecting to another bedroom through a small dressing room.

The dressing room was well-lit and already filled with clothes.

“Xu Heran, all of these are yours!” Jiang Qiong exclaimed, shocked. “We’re all still empty, aren’t the clothes in the big dressing room downstairs all yours too?”

“Really?” Xu Heran said, craning her neck to take a look, surprised. “They’re actually my old clothes.”

“The price tags are still on them,” Song Fenghua casually pinched one and said.

“Clothes with the price tags still on can be worn if you all like.” Xu Heran laughed, “Quick, quick, I want to see Xin Nuo’s room!”

With a smile, Xin Nuo opened the door and stood outside, letting them enter first.

“Wow!”

“So beautiful!”

Xin Nuo’s room was styled in a European palace style, not overly extravagant, with a touch of freshness amidst the luxury. The white and light tones blended perfectly.

Xu Heran held onto the doorframe, her voice mournful, “You’re done for, Nuo Nuo.”

“My mom’s got her sights on you!”

“She definitely wants to dress you up like a princess. You’re the next victim!”

Xu Heran shed metaphorical tears for Xin Nuo’s fate. Xin Nuo stood in the spacious room, stepped on the soft carpet, spun around, and said with a smile, “Is that so? I actually quite like it.”

Xu Heran shook her head, feeling sorry for this little lost lamb who didn’t know when to give up. She said to Haya, “Quick, open that small closet!”

Haya, closest to the closet, immediately reached out. A few others leaned in, grinning, “Truly our mom’s own child, you guessed it?”

Inside the closet hung several white lace palace-style nightgowns.

“Such is the treatment of a daughter-in-law!” Jiang Qiong exclaimed loudly.

“Alright, you guys,” Xin Nuo waved her hand, shifting the topic, “Didn’t the director ask us to record a video of unpacking our luggage at night? Have you all done it?”

Several of them shook their heads.

“I feel like my shabby belongings don’t match the luxurious bedroom my mom prepared for me,” Jiang Qiong scratched her head, “I regret it. If I had known Mom would be so considerate and thorough, I wouldn’t have brought so much stuff. Just myself would’ve been enough!”

Song Fenghua nodded silently.
