My Childhood Sweetheart Gradually Puffed Up CH.135

Chapter 135: Empress’s First Step

The head teacher understood the essence of changing faces.

Chen Xiongguo first scolded a few words with a black face, then smoothed his forehead wrinkles, and began to say some Spring Festival clichés and arrangements for this semester. Finally, his gaze swept across the entire class, sternly demanding that everyone immediately adjust their mindset and return to studying from the holiday, as time was running out.

There’s no other way; students need to be disciplined.

While speaking, he could also observe the students’ facial expressions, seeing who could understand, and who needed more attention next semester.

And there are individual students… that need to be watched closely!

He’s talking about you — Wen Yu.

Chen Xiongguo glanced across the class five times, and three times he lingered a moment longer near Wen Yu.

Worrying, clearly a cherished student of Class 4, but too smart and not entirely focused on studying.

He… was now looking at Fu Chengque again.

Little rascal!

With Teacher Chen’s departure, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Each person felt like they were the one being watched; the long-absent high pressure from Teacher Chen made these little devils not dare to breathe.

The class teacher’s lesson ended, returning to the normal class time.

But the lazy holiday atmosphere hadn’t fully dissipated yet. When the teachers’ voices came from the stage, it was like hypnotic murmurs, making many feel dizzy and disoriented. The teachers had no choice but to pick some topics to start with, mostly discussing the end-of-term exams from last semester.

By the end of the first proper class, half the class felt like they were dying.

“My butt hurts!”

“The chairs in school are hard and cold, colder than my heart, and my hands are freezing numb.”

“Ah, there’s still half a year until the university entrance exams… then it’s three months of summer vacation!”

“Hehe, I’m going to find my online friend, tell her my stories, who knows, maybe adult love will come early…”

“What stories do you have?”

“I have! For example, I can tell…”

Wen Yu was telling Fu Chengque about slaughtering chickens.

With vivid descriptions, Lu Min, who was eavesdropping in front, turned back to listen, her expressions changing with “Ah,” “Oh,” “Sss…” quite amusingly.

In the end, Lu Min asked, “Aren’t you afraid to do those things…”

“Afraid of what?”

“Just seeing the animals’ eyes.” Lu Min shook her head. “I’m especially afraid of that.”

“That’s just how life is.”

Lu Min nodded. “But chicken legs are delicious.”

Fang Ling chimed in from behind, “Actually, chicken brains are also tasty, especially the cockscomb…”

Fu Chengque and Lu Min both looked at Fang Ling in horror, their expressions twisted.

This appearance directly amused Xiao Gua, who laughed heartily on the side.

Not far away, classmates were gathering to discuss the upcoming second mock exam and the oath-taking ceremony. According to intelligence, the second mock exam would be held at the end of February or early March, just as spring returned to the earth. After the second mock exam, there would be the oath-taking ceremony, rallying all the seniors to devote themselves wholeheartedly to the final sprint for the university entrance examination. One hundred days later, the battle for the university entrance exam would begin.

There wasn’t much time left for everyone to be together.

Thinking of this, Fang Ling felt a bit sorrowful. “In a few months, we’ll have to part ways.”

Xiao Gua moved her chair closer, raising her hand and saying, “The ‘Conquer the World Study Group’ will always remain in my heart!”

“It’s the ‘Conquer the World Strategy Star Group’. It’s been so long, and you still can’t remember the name!”

The Empress was very disappointed; her cabinet was too unreliable.

This was completely contrary to what she wrote a few days ago in “Summoning the Wise”.

“Is this name so hard to remember?” Fu Chengque asked again.

“A little…”

“Mainly because we don’t talk about it much on ordinary days,” Fang Ling added.

Fu Chengque bit her nails, feeling that she had to do something before the end of this semester to make everyone remember her and her group!

Think of a solution, and make it happen!

Fang Ling thought of the topic they had discussed earlier and muttered, “It seems like the teacher is selecting representatives for the oath-taking ceremony. Do you think Wen Yu has a chance?”

Everyone’s gaze turned to the young man beside them.

In just one year, he had gone from being at the bottom to the top of the class. This semester, he was likely to continue his journey towards the top of the grade.

What a guy!

Lu Min shivered slightly. “I think Wen Yu is completely qualified.”

Fang Ling nodded. “In the past, most representatives were selected from Class 1, followed by Class 2. There doesn’t seem to be a record of representatives from Class 4…”

Xiao Gua slammed the table, excitedly saying, “What’s Class 2 compared to garbage!”

Fu Chengque clicked her tongue. “The seniors from Class 4 are totally inadequate.”

Xiao Gua and Fang Ling immediately echoed, “Yeah, that’s right.” If the seniors were here, they would probably see a ‘changing of the guard’.

In fact, it wasn’t just them discussing.

Everyone around discussing the content of the oath-taking ceremony realized this issue:

At present, Wen Yu is completely qualified to be the representative!

“A representative… Can’t Wen Yu do it? His grades are so good, even better than Class 1’s!”

“I hope they choose him! His grades have been improving the fastest. There used to be few representatives from Class 4.”

“If you say that, Fu Chengque is also fully qualified. What if there’s a breakthrough in this second mock exam? Who would go?”

“It must still be Wen Yu! Class 4’s grades are top-notch!”

“Nonsense! Where is Fu Chengque lacking? If grades are the criterion, she’s even more representative than Wen Yu!”

“What nonsense! Are you suggesting a fight?”

“Wen Yu has a good dog! Grandpa fattened up during the Spring Festival and is ready to beat you guys today!”

“Ugh—Fu Chengque’s fans are everywhere! They need to be dealt with!”

***

Wen Yu and the others were speechless, withdrawing their thoughts.

Wen Yu felt indifferent; whether he became a representative or not made no difference to him. Besides, he didn’t feel any sense of honor; he just found it a bit troublesome and time-consuming.

Lu Min wished he could go, but it was just wishful thinking.

Xiao Gua and Fang Ling, one a die-hard fan of Fu Chengque and the other saying they couldn’t decide, both wanted to go!

Fu Chengque thought about the scene of being a representative and felt intrigued—

The audience below was crowded with people, and she stood above the crowd, speaking the loudest. Everyone had to listen to her, including the teachers and leaders!

She could freely express her ideas and methods, and everyone would listen and learn from her…

She could also tell everyone about her study group and how amazing its members were!

Wow!

Oops!

Uh-oh, this feeling was too great!

The girl hugged herself and shivered. Just thinking about it made her feel exhilarated, her soul uplifted.

After a while, she raised her hand gently.

“Empress, please speak,” Wen Yu cooperated.

“I… want to go!”

“What?”

Fu Chengque took a deep breath. “I want to go! I want to be the representative of the conference!”

Everyone was surprised. The girl looked around and nodded heavily.

The Empress, who had been dormant in Class 4 for many years, decided to take this step: to make her companions more important and to have her influence spread throughout the school!

This time, everyone in the Second High School of the city would have to listen to her story, taste her legend! And remember, there was once such a remarkable figure in their school, their alumni, classmates, and students.

At last, the name belonging to the Empress must be deeply engraved in their hearts—Fu Chengque!
