Grab The Heroine and Run Away Ch. 90
After the New Year, when school started, Xu Heran wanted to return to Haicheng to meet Xin Nuo, but Xin Nuo had already joined a project. The eager little pearl, yearning for her wife, sighed endlessly in front of Cui Qi.
Regarding this, Cui Qi smiled gently, “After you graduate, I promise you’ll be busier than her.”
Xu Heran: “???”
“I feel like you’re becoming stricter with us!” Xu Heran whispered.
“Say my name louder!” Cui Qi laughed on the other end of the phone, “If you don’t work hard now, your family will sigh. Being busy is a good thing.”
“Alright, alright, I got it. But when Nuo Nuo’s movie is released, you have to let me attend the premiere,” Xu Heran bargained with Cui Qi.
Cui Qi indulgently agreed, “Sure.”
Before Xu Heran could laugh, she heard Cui Qi continue, “After all, it’s our own movie. By then, I’ll give each of Huanqiu’s artists a movie ticket, how about buying out the whole theater for Huanqiu? Not afraid you’ll stir up scandals then!”
Xu Heran: “…Very clever.”
She hung up the phone, looked at the quiet dorm room, and opened her phone again.
For the first time, Xin Nuo played the leading role in a TV drama, with a lot of scenes. The two of them only contacted each other before sleeping at night. Xin Nuo didn’t speak much, as she had to read the script. Xu Heran kept her company while studying, occasionally stealing glances at Xin Nuo’s profile.
It’s so strange. Even though they’ve only been in a relationship for less than a year, there’s a feeling of an old married couple.
Thinking about her girlfriend made Xu Heran’s mouth curve up happily. She rubbed her face, put her phone in the drawer, and picked up a pen.
“Time to study!”
Although her career had slowed down in the past two years, Cui Qi hadn’t completely confined her to school. Xu Heran still had various magazine covers, posters, interviews, and music album productions. Occasionally, she even appeared on variety shows.
Her life was fulfilling and busy, yet she was happy and content. She set her goals in her heart, and her life’s pace quietly moved towards the objectives she had set.
Xin Nuo’s TV drama was filmed from February to May. After the TV drama shooting concluded, she had to start the promotional activities for “Moon Over Willow.” The movie premiere was scheduled for June 10th, right after the high school entrance exams were over.
At the end of May, with a hurried schedule, Xin Nuo booked a flight ticket to Beijing. Her return ticket was for the following afternoon. As she was preparing to pack her luggage, her assistant called her.
“Nuo Nuo, your flight to Beijing has been canceled. You won’t be able to fly to Beijing tonight,” the assistant’s voice sounded disheartened.
Xin Nuo’s smile, which had been on her face since she returned, slowly faded. She asked softly, “Why?”
The assistant was taken aback by her tone and explained, “Stay calm. There’s a widespread thunderstorm along your flight route, and it’s expected to continue until around one in the morning. The plane won’t be able to fly.”
There was a prolonged silence on the other end of the phone. After a while, the assistant heard Xin Nuo’s calm voice, “I understand. How about the high-speed train?”
“The fastest high-speed train ticket to Beijing is around 11:00 PM.”
Xin Nuo’s brow relaxed, “I can make it in time, then.”
“Should we cancel the flowers and cake we had arranged beforehand?”
“You handle that,” Xin Nuo said. She looked up at the time and caught a glimpse of someone’s reflection in the mirror.
With a swift turn, Xin Nuo faced a surprised Xu Heran, who had appeared out of nowhere and had been observing her for who knows how long.
Xu Heran held flowers and cake in her hands, smiling at Xin Nuo.
“Little Xu?” Xin Nuo’s voice took on a slightly threatening tone as she asked her assistant on the other end of the phone.
The assistant burst into laughter, “Happy birthday to Ranran. She asked me to do this.”
“I promise not to disturb you tonight. I wish you both a beautiful evening.”
“Heh.”
Xin Nuo tossed her phone onto the bed and stared at Xu Heran.
“When did you come back?” The cake in Xu Heran’s hand was pre-ordered from a famous private cake shop in Beijing, and the bouquet was carefully selected. Xin Nuo recognized them at a glance.
The forest villa was empty, with only her present. Everyone else was out busy with work. Her time tonight and tomorrow had been squeezed out from her busy schedule.
“It’s been so long, don’t you miss me?”
Xu Heran placed the cake on the table and walked over to Xin Nuo, holding the flowers, and bent down.
The slight curve of her lips stopped just half a fist’s distance from Xin Nuo’s face.
Xin Nuo spoke in a warm voice, “We saw each other just last night.”
“Is the Xu Heran you see in videos the same as the real person, my girlfriend?” Xu Heran asked with a smile, “Do you prefer kissing the Xu Heran in videos, or…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Xin Nuo had already grabbed her collar, applying a slight pressure with her fingers.
Xu Heran bent down with a smile, following the force, their red lips meeting. Their tongues, which hadn’t met for a long time, tenderly circled each other, greeting with restraint. However, when Xu Heran threw the bouquet onto the bed and wrapped her arms around Xin Nuo’s waist, the intense and passionate kiss between their lips and teeth carried a deep affection that seemed to devour each other.
Indeed… it had been too long.
A trace of liquid welled up at the corner of Xin Nuo’s eye, dampening her long, dense eyelashes. Her black lashes instantly became moist, and with the captivating and bewitching gaze, emotions swirled.
At some point, the two of them released each other, or more precisely, they released each other’s lips. The supple and boneless woman leaned against her, and Xu Heran breathed lightly, looking at Xin Nuo’s slightly parted lips before lowering her head again.
It was as if they were making up for six months of kisses. Their lips and teeth searched for each other eagerly, wanting to imprint their scent on each other’s bodies.
During their break, Xu Heran chuckled softly, gently nudged Xin Nuo, and watched her fall in front of her, onto the soft bedding. Her body rose and fell slightly with the mattress’s elasticity.
Her young skin was delicate and firm, like cream tightly squeezed into a bag, but in all the right places. When it trembled, it created ripples, wave after wave, causing Xu Heran’s gaze to deepen suddenly.
Xin Nuo chuckled softly, turned her head, and lightly touched the bouquet lying beside her with her fingertips.
The flowers were specially cultivated, with intricate petals. The pale blue and light purple blended perfectly together. Her long black curls spread across the white bedsheet. Only her fair fingertips delicately played with the soft and harmless petals. She glanced sideways at Xu Heran, who stood by the bed, her eyes lowered in a controlling posture, and softly said, “This kind of flower has a name.”
Xu Heran followed Xin Nuo’s words and asked, “What is it?”
Xin Nuo smiled, applied a slight pressure with her fingers, plucked a petal, and held it up to admire.
The shape of the rose petal, the concave center, the half-blue, half-purple color—this was a masterpiece carefully nurtured by humans. Looking at this exquisite blend, Xin Nuo’s gaze slowly elongated, focusing on this heavenly treasure.
No matter how many times, just noticing those eyes would evoke a deep sigh from anyone’s heart.
It was too wondrous.
The deep blue, the enigmatic purple, the shimmering radiance—how many times more beautiful they were than the petals in her hand.
Xin Nuo exhaled slowly, her fingers drooped, and she placed the petal on her own lips, her arm beside her. Her posture seemed delicate, as if inviting someone to pluck her, but her pair of jet-black, bright eyes still looked at the person standing by the bed with an innocent expression, unmoving.
“It’s called a ‘secret kiss.'”
“A secret kiss?” Xu Heran, who had been unresponsive, shifted from her position. Having been the “Little Pearl” for so many years, she knelt between Xin Nuo’s legs. Her body descended, her arms supporting her on both sides of Xin Nuo’s body. Her right index finger and middle finger acted as the little person’s legs. Slowly, they moved upward along Xin Nuo’s legs, urgently and quickly climbing across her flat abdomen, the deep valley, the snowy-white, slender neck, stopping at the underside of her chin.
Xu Heran used her fingers to tilt Xin Nuo’s chin slightly and leaned down to gently kiss her ear.
“I don’t want to kiss you in secret.”
“I want to devour you.”
…
The next day, when Xu Heran appeared in the kitchen, the housekeeper was startled, then smiled and asked her, “When did you come back? Why didn’t I see you?”
“Yesterday afternoon, when I arrived, you were out shopping, so we just missed each other.”
The housekeeper excitedly asked her, “Is today your birthday? Auntie will cook something delicious for you!”
“Thank you, Auntie!” Xu Heran replied cheerfully.
The housekeeper asked if she had eaten breakfast, and upon learning that she hadn’t, she quickly offered to prepare something for her.
“It’s already midday. If I had known you were here, I would’ve made more in the morning… Oh, why are there so many cakes in the trash can? Did you throw them away? What a waste,” the housekeeper said to Xu Heran. “It’s better to eat them than to throw them away to fill your stomach.”
Xu Heran’s ears turned slightly red. “Uh, they’ve been out overnight, so I can’t eat them.”
“But don’t worry, it’s not really wasted.” The housekeeper turned around to get some water, a smile playing on her lips.
They were just too delicious.
“This child,” the housekeeper shook her head.
“By the way, Nuo Nuo is still sleeping. Please help us cook together,” Xu Heran said.
“Oh, Nuo Nuo was supposed to go—oh, right, she didn’t go to the capital city. Alright, I’ll start cooking, and I’ll call you both later,” the housekeeper said.
“I’ll go upstairs then.”
Xu Heran held two freshly boiled eggs in her hand, along with a banana and a cup of milk. She quickly ascended the stairs.
The housekeeper watched her happy figure and chuckled, shaking her head.
“Birthdays are really great. Look at this child, flowers are blooming behind her.”
Upstairs, Xu Heran entered her room.
Xin Nuo was already awake. She had washed up and was lying on Xu Heran’s bed, pretending to be asleep. When she saw Xu Heran entering, she lifted her hand and patted her waist. Understanding the signal, Xu Heran immediately approached, laid out a towel, peeled the banana and eggs, and placed them in Xin Nuo’s hands. Then she gave Xin Nuo a waist rub.
“Don’t forget to tidy up the room.”
Thinking about last night’s activities, Xin Nuo’s ears turned red. This time, she couldn’t easily scold Xu Heran for indulging… especially when she wasn’t much better herself.
“I locked the door,” Xu Heran whispered.
They liked to tidy up their bedroom themselves, so the housekeeper usually didn’t come in. However, occasionally, the corners of the room were captured on camera during program filming, and they often gathered together to play games.
“Why isn’t Qiong’er here?”
Jiang Qiong recorded 《As You Wish》 every week, and she spent the most time in Haicheng. Counting the days, these two days were also the recording time for 《As You Wish》 but Jiang Qiong wasn’t here.
“Qiong’er went to record yesterday morning. It seems they went to the wilderness,” Xin Nuo wasn’t quite sure. “So, are you coming back this time or leaving again?”
“I’ll leave after watching your movie. There’s still more than half a month until the final exams. I’ll be free by then.”
“It’s a short-lived freedom,” Xin Nuo corrected her. She raised her hand and patted Xu Heran, “Go tidy up the room.”
She kept thinking about the room next door, and the more she thought, the more something felt off.
“Hurry up.”
“Okay,” Xu Heran laughed and patted her waist, bending down to kiss her neck and take a whiff, whispering, “Mmm, there’s a floral scent, and a hint of cream.”
Xin Nuo’s ears turned even redder, but she shot a cool sidelong glance at Xu Heran. However, there was still a bit of cream at the corner of her mouth, making her look somewhat adorable.
Adorable with a hint of threat.
Xu Heran loved Xin Nuo deeply. She smiled, leaned down, and cupped Xin Nuo’s face in her hands, kissing her firmly on the lips. Before Xin Nuo could resist, Xu Heran got up and went to clean.
As Xin Nuo’s room door opened, she quickly averted her gaze, staring intently at the milk cup in her hand. She downed the remaining milk in one gulp, struggled to sit up, and placed the cup down.
Hearing the sound from the next room, Xin Nuo bit her lip involuntarily.
This little silly pearl was getting bolder and bolder.
No, it’s the big silly pearl.
She touched her chin, wondering when it would be her turn to be bold.
Xu Heran closed the door, looked at the disheveled room, and touched her nose.
Scattered clothes, the bedspread smeared with cream and certain unspeakable marks, as well as open and unopened little bags strewn on the floor, and… some adorable little things.
Considering Xin Nuo would be leaving in the afternoon, Xu Heran resisted the immediate urge to return to her own room and create the same chaos. She obediently got up, opened the window for ventilation, changed the bedspread, swept the floor, washed the toys, and charged them up—of course, the chargers were all in her room. On her way there, she inevitably had to retrieve them from discreet places due to Xin Nuo’s urging, never leaving them in plain sight!
“Ah, you poor little guys. Some people love you and then abandon you. Everyone will see you next time,” Xu Heran affectionately stroked the heads of each little object, then got a tap on the head from Xin Nuo.
“Huh?”
“Oh!”
Xu Heran obediently placed them neatly in a corner against the wall.
Xin Nuo watched coldly, exhaling only when Xu Heran left.
Xin Nuo hummed a tune, dragging a pile of dirty clothes to the laundry to wash the sheets. She had just arrived in the laundry room when she squatted down to stuff a duvet into the washing machine and suddenly heard Jiang Qiong’s voice.
Xu Heran: “…”
She quietly sped up her movements, daringly closed the door of the washing machine just before Jiang Qiong came in, added detergent, and pressed the start button.
In the humming sound, Xu Heran suddenly let out a sigh of relief.
“Hey, why do I smell cream?” Through the wall, Xu Heran heard Jiang Qiong’s voice.
“Tsk.” Xu Heran rested her arms on her knees and raised an eyebrow.
That dog really had a keen nose.
“This cream smells good! And a bit familiar, like the cream from the cake shop Xu Pearl used to bring back from the capital.”
Xu Heran: “…”
She heard the sound of footsteps, raised her head, and locked eyes with a pair of shiny big eyes.
The laundry room door faced a row of washing machines and dryers, and further inside was a sunny platform for drying clothes and bedding. The machines faced a deep wall with a cabinet, and Xu Heran sat on the small stool in the corner of the cabinet against the wall, right by the door.
A normal person would enter the room, take a glance, and leave. But Jiang Qiong had to be different, clinging to the door frame with her head extended—it was like a variety show after-effect.
“Dog woofs are just dog woofs,” Xu Heran shook her head.
“Xu Pearl!” Jiang Qiong saw Xu Heran and immediately jumped in, showing a surprised expression. “What are you doing here?”
Not only had Xin Nuo rarely seen the real Xu Heran, but also the other SGS members. Everyone had met up after the New Year, except Xu Heran, whom they had only seen in videos.
“Today, I even told Sister Cui that I sent you a birthday message and you didn’t reply!” Jiang Qiong bounced over, enthusiastically clapping her hands with Xu Heran. “Where’s the cake? Hand it over!”
“You came to the laundry room to find cake?” Xu Heran raised an eyebrow, asking her.
Jiang Qiong felt that not seeing the real person for half a year had caused some changes in Xu Heran’s demeanor, but she couldn’t pinpoint exactly how. Scratching her head, she retorted, “I said this scent is familiar. Were you secretly eating cake here?”
“…Have you ever done it?” Xu Heran asked her with a smile.
“Tch, no cake, I’m out.” Jiang Qiong told Xu Heran, “I’m recording a program right now, just passing by to use the restroom. The cameramen and director are waiting outside for me. I’ll come find you after I finish recording. Happy birthday!”
“Go ahead,” Xu Heran gave her a high five.
Jiang Qiong happily dashed out. Before Xu Heran could even sigh in relief, her voice popped up again, “Hehe, but why are you washing the bedsheet? When you’re not around, Auntie usually changes the bedding and sun-dries the duvet regularly.”
She made a playful expression toward the washing machine, “It’s kind of strange, isn’t it?”
Xu Heran put on a speechless expression, “I got cake on the bedsheet when I was eating, so I brought it down to wash! Go record your program!”
“Got it, bye~”
It wasn’t until Jiang Qiong’s cheerful voice had faded that Xu Heran placed a hand over her chest and sighed in relief.
Why did she feel like she was having an illicit affair?
Jiang Qiong left happily, and Xu Heran waited until her voice had completely disappeared before releasing a breath she had been holding.
Why did this feel like sneaking around?
Jiang Qiong skipped out with a light-hearted demeanor. Just as she was about to join the crew, she suddenly spotted a familiar figure in the distance. She took a deep breath and turned to run in the opposite direction. “Oh no, run away quickly!”
The camera crew followed her inside.
The guest they were chasing this time excitedly shouted, “It’s Sister Qiong! Capture her!”
Xu Heran perked up her ears, hearing footsteps from outside like “clang clang clang.”
“Xu Heran, let me hide in your room!” Jiang Qiong hurriedly went up the stairs, shouting towards the laundry room.
“Wait!” Xu Heran called out.
Just as she stepped out of the laundry room, she was met with two pairs of shiny eyes and the exclaimed voices of the cameramen and directors.
“It’s Pearl!”
“Hey, Sister Yu!” Xu Heran greeted the familiar photographers and directors with a smile.
“Xu, Hello!”
The excitement on the faces of the two young girls who had just entered turned into shyness in an instant.
“We’re Fish Harmony, a girl group that debuted this year. Nice to meet you, senior!”
“Hello to you both.” Xu Heran extended her hand to shake theirs and asked for their names.
“You’re here to catch a dog… Jiang Xiaoqiong?” Xu Heran inquired.
“Yes, have you seen her?” The two girls couldn’t dare to look Xu Heran in the eyes. Their faces turned red, their eyes fixed on her mouth. Every time they made eye contact with Xu Heran, they quickly looked away, nervously fidgeting with their clothes.
“I only know she came in,” Xu Heran replied with a smile.
“Okay, then we’ll wait outside to catch Jiang Xiaoqiong.” Xu Heran whispered, “I’ll get the dog out.”
The eyes of the two girls sparkled as they nodded vigorously. “Yes, senior! We’ll follow your lead!”
Once she had convinced them to leave, Xu Heran immediately rolled up her sleeves, dashed upstairs, and arrived at her door. She tried to turn the doorknob, but it wouldn’t budge.
“Dog woofs, you’re cheating!”
Jiang Qiong immediately protested, “Who’s cheating? This is my territory, listen to me!”
“My rules are the rules!”
“You come out here!”
“I won’t!” Jiang Qiong leaned against the door. “Some people are pampered in their gilded cages~ I saw it all! If you don’t want me to expose you, pretend you didn’t see me!”
Xin Nuo picked up a banana peel and threw it in Jiang Qiong’s direction.
Jiang Qiong quickly picked up the banana peel, cupping it in her hands, and threw it into the trash bin. She clasped her hands together and prayed towards Xin Nuo.
“Tell Xu Heran to go easy on me, and I’ll come out.” She negotiated with Xin Nuo.
Xin Nuo smiled and asked her, “Are you still afraid of her?”
Not every round of the “battle” between the Woof Woof Team members was a two-way exchange.
Jiang Qiong lifted her chin. “I’m letting her!”
They whispered to each other. Suddenly, there was no sound outside the door. Jiang Qiong perked up her ears. She heard the sound of the small cloakroom door being twisted. She took a deep breath and immediately opened the door and ran outside.
“Help!”
Once she had dashed away, Xu Heran leaned against the door frame of the cloakroom, her fingers playing with the keys.
“Challenge me!”
The smile on Xin Nuo’s face suddenly vanished. Her gaze turned sharp, piercing into Xu Heran in an instant.
Xu Heran: “…”
“Cough.”
Someone took a step to the side, then another.
“Jiang Qiong didn’t see anything,” Xin Nuo said coldly, throwing a pillow over. “Clean up your things!”
“Understood!”
Outside the villa, Jiang Qiong, who had finally managed to escape the pursuit of the two girls, sat in the rear compartment of a passing smart robot. It was carrying her and slowly running on the road. Jiang Qiong grabbed her hat and fanned herself, a slight smile playing on her lips.
Well, she had no clue why Xu Heran’s cake ended up on her bed and why they were washing Xin Nuo’s bed sheets. She also had no idea why Xin Nuo was sleeping in Xu Heran’s room?
Woof Woof knew nothing~
No idea~
