Chapter 54
On the bed.
Lin Wanqiu, following Ye Ruoshui’s lead, pulled a portion of the quilt over herself and moved closer to Xiao Minghuang, extending a slender arm to wrap around the other’s waist.
She too understood the situation—this was not a time to rest easy. She couldn’t leave. If she did, only the unconscious Xiao Minghuang and the eager Ye Ruoshui would remain, and what might happen next was something she dared not imagine!
And so.
The two women, Ye and Lin, lay on either side, each embracing half of Xiao Minghuang’s body, their gazes occasionally crossing in the air, as if a hint of tension had returned to the bed.
Lin Wanqiu asked softly:
“Xiao Ruoshui, aren’t you going to sleep?”
Ye Ruoshui sneered:
“So you can sneakily plot something against Her Highness while I’m asleep?”
This exchange of words seemed to bring their relationship back to its initial state.
But this was merely a facade. In reality, the two had already reached a reconciliation and were now in a cooperative relationship.
There was no real conflict between them; this was just their habitual bickering.
After this verbal sparring, perhaps due to the earlier heart-pounding and exhilarating experience, their eyelids grew heavy, and their minds weary. Unconsciously, they gradually drifted off to sleep.
…
The next morning.
As the first rays of sunlight touched the earth.
Xiao Minghuang slowly opened her eyes, feeling as though every joint and every inch of her skin was somehow stuck, with a soft, delicate sensation washing over her from all parts of her body, as if she were floating among the clouds, in a dreamlike state.
“Still not fully awake…”
She closed her eyes again.
The next moment.
Xiao Minghuang’s eyes snapped open, and she glanced to her left and right, only to see two fair and delicate faces, each wearing a sweet, serene smile, as if lost in some indescribable dream.
Moreover, she discovered that her arms and legs were each locked in place by the two girls, leaving her entire body in a state of immobility.
What was even more startling was that her slight movements seemed to have elicited a response from Ye and Lin.
In their sleep, the two girls shifted their delicate bodies, pressing even closer to her.
Their legs, from above and below, hooked around her left and right legs respectively. Their arms, one from above and one from below, tightly locked her in place at her collarbone and abdomen, leaving her unable to move an inch.
The three of them were almost completely pressed together, with not a single gap left, in a state of zero-distance contact.
In this tight embrace, every inch of Xiao Minghuang’s skin could feel the warm body heat and soft touch emanating from the bodies of Ye and Lin. It was a sensation she had never experienced in her past or present life—intoxicating and impossible to resist.
She lay quietly on the bed, making no movements and not waking the two girls.
Xiao Minghuang not only enjoyed the soft and warm bodies of Ye and Lin but also felt a sense of joy and contentment from the warmth and tranquility of the moment.
In her previous life, she had no parents, never experienced any warmth from the world, and had no relatives or friends. Traveling thousands of miles, she was always alone.
Although it was somewhat liberating to have no one to worry about but herself, there was always a sense of detachment, as if the world had nothing to do with her, and her existence was insignificant.
However, since meeting Ye Ruoshui and Lin Wanqiu, her heart had grown increasingly peaceful, as if she had returned to a safe harbor, no longer battered by raging waves or weathered by storms. She had found a genuine sense of tranquility and serenity that came from within.
This feeling was something she couldn’t resist, and she was utterly captivated by it.
Xiao Minghuang knew that she could never leave these two girls in this lifetime.
…
As time passed, the bright sunlight gradually grew warmer, and the beautiful dream was bound to end.
But when Ye and Lin opened their eyes, they were greeted by Xiao Minghuang’s gentle smile. Their minds instantly spun, their faces flushed, and their soft bodies grew increasingly warm.
The bed gradually became cozy, and Xiao Minghuang noticed the changes in their bodies. She gently extended her arms, embracing the two girls and resting their heads against her chest.
“Ruoshui, Wanqiu, did you sleep well last night?”
“Very well!”
Ye and Lin responded in unison.
“That’s good… By the way, the spring water you gave me last night was truly delicious and refreshing. Is there any more? I’d really like to taste it again.”
Hearing this, Ye Ruoshui and Lin Wanqiu, whose hearts were already racing like startled deer, panicked even more.
Has Her Highness discovered what we did to her last night?!
Lin Wanqiu and Ye Ruoshui quickly exchanged glances, silently communicating their thoughts.
Quick, think of an excuse!
How can we possibly come up with something in this situation?!
As Xiao Minghuang’s gaze turned increasingly puzzled, Lin Wanqiu finally made up her mind.
“Your Highness, the spring water from last night was an extremely rare thousand-year-old stalactite spring. It’s all gone now, and it might take another thousand years to find more.”
Hearing this, a look of disappointment appeared on Xiao Minghuang’s face, and she half-heartedly complained:
“It’s such a pity that I can’t taste such delicious water again.”
At this, Ye Ruoshui muttered softly:
“Your Highness will definitely get to taste it again…”
The moment she spoke, Lin Wanqiu shot her a sharp look.
Realizing her slip, Ye Ruoshui immediately clamped her mouth shut.
Noticing the subtle exchange between the two girls, Xiao Minghuang’s eyes sparkled with curiosity, and she teased:
“Ruoshui, Wanqiu, when did the two of you become so close?”
At her words, Ye Ruoshui tensed up, her soft body stiffening as she lowered her head, not daring to look at her.
Lin Wanqiu, however, raised her face, her smile blooming like a flower, and said sweetly:
“Your Highness, Xiao Ruoshui and I hit it off right away. We’ve become as close as sisters!”
“That’s wonderful!”
Xiao Minghuang reached out and gently patted the soft heads of the two girls.
As the two most important people by her side, she was naturally delighted and relieved to see Ye Ruoshui and Lin Wanqiu getting along so well.
Especially since Lin Wanqiu had always been magnanimous, never holding Ye Ruoshui’s jealous behavior against her, truly acting like an older sister.
Xiao Minghuang nodded, her smile radiant as she said:
“Wanqiu is the elder sister, so you must take good care of Ruoshui from now on. If there’s anything she doesn’t understand, teach her patiently and don’t bully her!”
“Of course, Your Highness, you can rest assured!”
Among the three of them, Xiao Minghuang was the oldest, Lin Wanqiu was a month younger than her, and Ye Ruoshui was two years younger than both. Therefore, it wasn’t wrong to say that Ye Ruoshui was their little sister.
