I Obviously Just Want to be a Minor Character CH.32

Chapter 32: Don’t ask, asking will hurt feelings

Su Ming suddenly understood the correct way to open the package.

As long as he could get Miss Xu to be his sugar mama and he could play the role of a man with a weak stomach, Su Ming wouldn’t need to work so hard to earn chips to open the package.

With Miss Xu’s generosity, Su Ming could easily open an unknown number of packages with just a little bit of money from her.

Even better, a man with a weak stomach would be seen as a disgusting Minor character in the eyes of others. Su Ming’s idea of becoming the Sishiluo Sword God could still be carried out.

On top of that, he wouldn’t need to run around everywhere. He only needed to stay at home and properly coddle Miss Xu, making her happy. Su Ming would be able to live a life of leisure.

Wasn’t this the correct way to open the package?

Wasn’t this the correct posture for opening the package?

It was!

A bold idea sprouted in Su Ming’s heart.

Perhaps the devil was growing within him.

Fortunately, Su Ming’s remaining moral integrity suppressed the devil in his heart, preventing him from walking down a road of no return.

Therefore, after saying sincerely, “I don’t want to work hard anymore,” Su Ming still sat down in front of Xu Qianqian, who was shocked.

Of course, Su Ming wouldn’t admit that the old butler beside him was staring at him like a tiger eyeing its prey. The old man’s cloudy eyes were emitting a murderous aura, which was also an important reason why he decided to behave himself.

But the Su Ming who had been washed with a heroic spirit didn’t want to speak much. He simply handed a list to Xu Qianqian.

“Here, I’ve written down everything I want you to sell.”

Su Ming said this with a lack of enthusiasm, as if he felt that everything had lost its meaning.

Xu Qianqian accepted the list in silence and scanned it casually. Then she was slightly taken aback and looked at Su Ming in shock.

“So many?”

This was Xu Qianqian’s first thought.

There was nothing that could be done about it. The items Su Ming wrote on the list were both in quantity and quality beyond Xu Qianqian’s expectations.

“Is it too much?”

Su Ming immediately perked up. Perhaps it was because he wanted to compete, or perhaps for some other reason, but he actually managed to put on a little bit of heroic air with his simple words.

But Su Ming really did have the qualification to put on such an act.

The items listed on the inventory weren’t only in quantities that most ordinary students couldn’t afford, but even the quality was very high.

At least, Xu Qianqian saw several spirit demon materials that were already in short supply on the market and had been inflated to astronomical prices.

There were also several alchemy tools that Xu Qianqian had only heard of and never seen.

As far as she knew, these alchemy tools were all outstanding in effect, but because of the materials or the techniques involved, they were difficult to mass-produce, so their numbers were few and their prices were extremely high.

But Su Ming casually produced a batch of these top-quality goods. Xu Qianqian couldn’t help but be shocked.

Xu Qianqian didn’t know that the items on this inventory weren’t particularly precious to Su Ming.

Even if he had already signed a contract with Xu Qianqian, Su Ming didn’t dare to show the truly valuable treasures that would make even a great clan like the Xu Family covetous.

As the saying went, money makes people do crazy things. A man without money is innocent, but a man with money is guilty. Su Ming wasn’t stupid enough to really challenge human nature and greed with a mere contract.

Therefore, the things Su Ming prepared to show were those that were precious to the average person but not quite enough to make a giant family like the Xu Family covetous.

Xu Qianqian was only surprised because Su Ming had casually shown so many items.

In her knowledge, Su Ming didn’t have any special background or connections. His family background was also very ordinary, and he himself was very low-profile. Logically speaking, he shouldn’t be able to produce so many extraordinary items.

Su Ming didn’t intend to explain and asked Xu Qianqian directly, “Can you handle it?”

Su Ming smiled at Xu Qianqian.

Xu Qianqian didn’t say anything, only giving Su Ming a deep look.

It was obvious that Su Ming’s depth of mystery in her heart had deepened.

“What do you want to do with it?” Xu Qianqian asked lightly. “Do you want to sell it for money or…?”

“Selling it for money is fine.” Su Ming didn’t think much about it. “But if possible, I hope you can use this money to help me buy some other things.”

As he spoke, Su Ming handed another list to Xu Qianqian.

This list wasn’t of the things Su Ming was about to hand over, but rather the things he wanted to buy.

Xu Qianqian scanned it again, but this time, her expression became strange instead.

The reason was simple: all the things on Su Ming’s list were items that weren’t expensive but required a large quantity.

There were spirit demon materials, alchemy tools, synthetic magical materials, and some miscellaneous things, but without exception, all of them required a large quantity.

“You”

Xu Qianqian really wanted to ask something.

Unfortunately, Su Ming acted first.

“Don’t ask. Asking will only hurt our feelings.”

Su Ming’s blunt words left Xu Qianqian speechless.

As he watched the stupefied Xu Qianqian, Su Ming laughed to himself.

He wasn’t worried that Xu Qianqian would be able to see through his intentions from this list.

Because Xu Qianqian could never guess what Su Ming was planning to do with these items.

Su Ming turned to Xu Qianqian. “How long will it take to get all of these things?”

This was the only thing Su Ming cared about.

“It won’t take long.” No longer confused, Xu Qianqian said, “The items on your list are all pretty common. The Xu Family’s stores should be able to find them easily, but I don’t know if they’ll have enough in stock.”

This was also something Su Ming had considered.

The rules for exchanging chips at the market were based on the effects and uses of the item being exchanged. They didn’t consider factors like market demand or rarity. Naturally, Su Ming had targeted items that weren’t too expensive but had unique effects and uses.

This way, Su Ming could buy a large number of items that could be exchanged for a large number of chips at the lowest possible price, and thus earn a huge profit.

And the reason why the price of these extraordinary items was not high was because they were easy to obtain and not very rare, so they wouldn’t be too difficult to find.

However, quantity was indeed a problem.

The goods Su Ming was going to hand over to Xu Qianqian were not precious, but because of their demand, they could be sold at a relatively high price.

If this batch of goods was all processed and used to buy those inexpensive unique items, then the amount that could be bought would definitely not be small.

With such a large quantity, it would indeed be difficult to collect everything in a short time.

“Try to do it as soon as possible,” Su Ming said with a sigh to Xu Qianqian. “We’ll have to set off for Hua Ming District in two days. If we can complete this transaction before then, it will be very helpful to me.”

“I see.” Xu Qianqian nodded. “Then I’ll try my best to help you speed things up.”

Xu Qianqian handed the list to the old butler beside her.

The old butler respectfully took the letter, then glanced at Su Ming before leaving.

Su Ming looked at the old butler, deep in thought.

“Don’t worry.” Xu Qianqian turned to look at Su Ming, noticing that he was deep in thought. “Grandpa Butler doesn’t know the details of our transaction, and he won’t ask. He’ll only follow my orders. He’s someone we can trust.”

Su Ming could tell that was the case.

Otherwise, with his personality, he wouldn’t have discussed the transaction with Xu Qianqian in front of the old butler.

Besides, even if the old butler knew about the transaction, what would he do?

In his eyes, Su Ming was probably just some businessman who wanted to use the young lady’s family background to make a fortune.

With a contract in place, Su Ming didn’t fear Xu Qianqian would tell the old butler about his true situation.

The only problem was…

“Why does it feel like he’s looking at me with a strange expression? It looks like he’s not very friendly.”

Su Ming was only confused by this one thing.

Xu Qianqian glanced at Su Ming and said nonchalantly, “That’s because you invited me to a hotel last time. Grandpa Butler has a very bad impression of you.”

Su Ming almost spat out a mouthful of water at this.

Only now did Su Ming remember that the last time he had invited Xu Qianqian to a hotel, she had indeed mentioned that she had asked her butler about it.

At the time, Xu Qianqian’s butler had even called him out for finding such a lame excuse to invite a girl to a hotel.

Fuck!

The corner of Su Ming’s mouth twitched as he looked at Xu Qianqian.

Xu Qianqian’s lips curled up slightly, as if amused by Su Ming’s defeated expression. Her mood improved.

“When will you give me the goods on the list?”

Xu Qianqian asked with a light chuckle as she sipped her tea.

Su Ming, feeling insulted, grew bold.

“Right now.”

He said.

“Right now?”

Xu Qianqian was stunned.

Su Ming didn’t say anything else and only waved his hand.

“Clack—”

In the following second, countless spirit demon materials, alchemy tools, and strange magical items appeared without warning. They fell from the air and made a noise as they landed on the ground in a pile.

“Ah!”

Xu Qianqian’s beautiful eyes widened, and she gasped in a mouthful of black tea, choking on it.

“You”

Xu Qianqian covered her soaked chest, looking shocked.

Su Ming suddenly felt enlightened. He was so happy that he could die.

He was so happy! O(∩_∩)O Ha ha!
