Chapter 33: I am "Suisui-Ice"
Suddenly, a man walked in, naturally drawing all eyes to him.
Dressed in a sharp business suit, he didn’t resemble their high school classmates at all. First, he looked younger, around twenty-five years old. Second, everyone in the room stared at the newcomer with puzzled expressions, clearly not recognizing him.
“Who are you?”
Sun Yeyou felt a surge of resentment seeing this guy looked even more like a successful professional than he did. Determined not to be outdone, he straightened his back and demanded to know the man’s identity.
“Hello, everyone. I apologize for the interruption. My surname is Li, and I’m the hotel manager.”
Manager Li wore a gentle, warm smile that put people at ease. Combined with his handsome features, his looks were undeniably impressive.
Upon hearing that he was the hotel manager, some of the female classmates couldn’t contain their excitement, their eyes sparkling with fervent interest. As for what was going through their minds…
Let’s just say…
It’s better left unsaid!
“I heard from a waiter earlier that there seemed to be quite a commotion inside, so I came to check. What’s the matter?”
Manager Li had been notified by a waiter that a conflict appeared to have erupted in Massena Hall, generating considerable noise. He was summoned to handle the situation.
Normally, such incidents rarely occurred in five-star hotels. When they did occur, managers or higher-ranking staff typically intervened, as maintaining the hotel’s reputation was paramount. The hotel took this matter very seriously.
“The hotel manager? Perfect!”
Pan Huihui’s eyes lit up. She immediately pointed at Chen Hao and exclaimed, “This guy crashed our private gathering, gorged himself on food and drinks, and when we asked him to pay for his share, he not only refused but started hitting people!”
“I can testify—I’m the one he hit!”
Pan Huihui had just dumped a bucket of dirty water on Chen Hao, her impromptu performance skills proving remarkably effective.
“Oh, is that so?”
Manager Li frowned slightly. Such an incident was troubling. If someone had truly crashed a guest’s meal, scammed them out of food and drinks, and then resorted to violence, it was a severe breach of conduct. This would severely damage the hotel’s reputation and demanded careful handling.
“Pah!”
“You’re lying through your teeth! Brother Hao was our high school classmate! This is a high school reunion—when did it become such a fancy affair? Hey, Class Monitor, if you didn’t invite Brother Hao, would he have just shown up out of nowhere?”
Le Ziyan couldn’t stand Pan Huihui’s nonsense any longer. He stepped forward and declared his identity. Chen Hao was at least invited by Pan Li over the phone—how could they suddenly pretend not to know him?
“Well…”
Pan Li’s eyes darted around as he weighed the pros and cons in his mind. He had a clear understanding of which side—Pan Huihui and Sun Yeyou—would be more reliable and beneficial to him compared to Chen Hao.
“Chen Hao was our high school classmate, but… I didn’t invite him. So, that’s the whole story!”
In the end, Pan Li chose to side with Pan Huihui and presented his version of the “truth” to Manager Li.
“You bastard! How about showing us your call logs!”
“Forget it.”
Le Ziyan initially wanted Pan Li to produce his call records as proof, but Chen Hao stopped him, figuring it was better to just pretend these so-called high school classmates were strangers.
“If that’s the case…”
“Hmph!”
“You’re going too far! Do you really think you can bully my Papa so easily?”
Just as Pan Huihui’s lips curled into a smug smile and Manager Li prepared to confront Chen Hao, Suisui suddenly crossed her arms, her face as cold as frost, her eyes sharp as daggers, clearly enraged.
Though others couldn’t see it, Chen Hao noticed a powerful aura radiating from Suisui, a suffocating pressure that threatened to erupt into something catastrophic if fully unleashed.
“Suisui…”
“Suisui!”
Two voices rang out simultaneously—Chen Hao’s and Manager Li’s.
Chen Hao blinked, glancing curiously at Manager Li. How did he know his daughter’s name? He hadn’t mentioned it.
“It really is Suisui! I’m your fan, I’m ‘Suisui-Ice’! I manage the support group chat now. I never imagined you were local—what a coincidence!”
“Oh, right! I’ve sent you gifts before. I’m the fourth-highest spender on the leaderboard. Does that give me any influence?”
Manager Li rushed excitedly toward Suisui, his words tumbling out in a flurry after confirming it was her in person.
“……”
The surrounding crowd stood frozen, unsure what was happening. Why had the manager of this five-star hotel suddenly become a fan of Chen Hao’s daughter?
Chen Hao snapped out of his shock. Luck really is something, he thought. He never imagined he’d meet one of his daughter’s fans here, especially the manager of the Wilson Grand Hotel. He racked his brain, recalling that the fourth-ranked ID on the livestream leaderboard seemed to be “I Am a Big Pear.”
By the way, that guy had gifted over eighty thousand yuan in total.
“You must be Suisui’s dad! I’m so sorry, I didn’t recognize you at first. No offense meant!”
Manager Li finally turned to Chen Hao, apologizing. He hadn’t paid much attention earlier until Suisui spoke up, instantly recognizing her melodious voice.
“Ha! No worries, I’m not offended at all!”
Chen Hao raised an eyebrow. As expected, I really don’t have many fans myself. Probably 90%… no, more like 95% of the livestream viewers are Suisui’s fans.
“Suisui is even cuter in person! Amazing! Can… can we take a photo together?”
“Fine, just because you’re ‘Suisui-Ice’.”
Suisui nodded, giving Manager Li some face.
Then, the barely noticeable Chen Hao was relegated to photographer.
“Hey! What the hell are you doing?!”
Pan Huihui finally snapped out of her daze. In the blink of an eye, Manager Li had inexplicably become Suisui’s fan, and she couldn’t stand it. She was the customer, she had booked Massena Hall—why were they messing around taking photos?
“We paid to reserve this restaurant! What kind of service is this? Get that guy to compensate us immediately and then kick him out!”
Hearing this, Manager Li put down his phone, straightened his suit, and strode up to Pan Huihui, his professional smile returning. “Madam, I’m afraid I need to correct you. If anyone’s getting kicked out, it’ll be you and your party!”
“What? What do you mean? We paid good money! Tens of thousands!”
“There’s no need to worry about the bill. This meal’s on me. Now, if there’s nothing else, may I ask you to leave? Please don’t disturb Suisui’s meal. Thank you.”
“You! I—I’m going to find your boss! Where’s the hotel manager? I want to file a complaint!”
“Friendly reminder: I am the hotel manager. As for the boss, that would be my father. I’ve been given full authority over the hotel’s operations. If you have any complaints, feel free to address them to me.”
“……”
“Do you have any further questions?”
What did you think of this chapter?
