Chapter 51

Wu Paiyun?
Qu Panyan looked at the suffering Kang Congshuang. Although she didn’t know why Kang Congshuang wanted her to find this person, considering Kang Congshuang’s serious nature, Wu Paiyun might be related to the murder case. Perhaps Kang Congshuang couldn’t personally go because of her sudden illness, so she entrusted it to Qu Panyan.
Regardless of whether Kang Congshuang could hear her or not, Qu Panyan replied earnestly, “Don’t worry, I’ll go right away so you can have a good rest. The three junior sisters are outside. If you need anything and can’t speak, just smash a cup.”
With that, she turned around and brought all the small teacups prepared for guests in the room to Kang Congshuang’s bedside. She carefully placed them there to prevent them from accidentally falling.
After arranging everything, she walked out of the room, closed the door, and left the three disciples to guard Kang Congshuang outside. She instructed them to use sound transmission if they needed anything and not to bother finding her personally. With that settled, she went to find Wu Paiyun—mainly because Su Lingyu was accompanying her, and it wouldn’t be convenient with the disciples around.
Before leaving, she thought of something and turned back to ask, “Did Senior Sister Kang mention why she wanted to find Wu Paiyun?”
The junior disciple in the group immediately replied, “Yes! Someone told Senior Sister that Wu Paiyun seemed to know something, so she wanted to find her, who knows she might be able to find some traces…”
Not long after they split up, she encountered Kang Congshuang, who was on her way to the Wu family. It was then she learned from Kang Congshuang that Wu Paiyun seemed to know something. The two of them planned to go together, but then Kang Congshuang suddenly fell ill…
Qu Panyan nodded and calmly said, “Alright, you take good care of Senior Sister Kang and pay close attention to any movements in the area.”
She went directly to the innkeeper to inquire about the location of the Wu family. Her exceptionally attractive appearance and friendly attitude made the innkeeper quite fond of her, and he eagerly pointed her in the right direction, even coming close to taking out pen and paper to draw a map for her.
Thanking him with a smile, she left the inn and walked into a long alley next to it, leaving all the noise behind.
She reached out her hand, and the next moment, another hand slipped through her fingers, gently interlocking with her five fingers.
Su Lingyu revealed herself and walked alongside her at a leisurely pace. Su Lingyu asked, “Why not let them come along? It’s part of their training to experience different aspects of the world.”
Training was about letting disciples immerse themselves in the myriad aspects of the world, to perceive and learn from their interactions with others.
Qu Panyan smiled and said, “Learning to take care of their companions is also part of their training.”
“And besides,” she instinctively softened her voice, “I want to spend some time alone with Sister Lingyu. “
“The Sect Master and the Sect Master’s wife want to spend some time alone, so it would not be good to take the others along with us.”
The children were still young, it would be too harmful to feed them this much dog food.
After listening, Su Lingyu suddenly stopped in her tracks, tightened her grip on Qu Panyan’s hand, and pulled her into her embrace. She lowered her head and tenderly called “Yan’er” by her ear.
Qu Panyan obediently nestled in her embrace and gently responded, “Yan’er is here.”
Then, she felt the pressure on her back suddenly increase. Su Lingyu hugged her even tighter, as if she wanted to merge them into one, completely inseparable from each other, so that no one could ever pull them apart.
Su Lingyu’s breath brushed against her ear, and her voice carried a hint of conflict, “Now even women fall in love with Yan’er? Just like those hypocrites.”
Qu Panyan was taken aback. This buff of hers was a hundred percent effective against scumbag men, but she hadn’t expanded her business to scumbag women yet.
She laughed, “It’s just a normal affection. It doesn’t necessarily mean the girl has a bad character. It’s a common thing, just like A Yiduo and my Sect Leader both having feelings for Sister Lingyu.”
Su Lingyu paused for a moment and corrected her word by word, “There is no Sect Leader in your family, only a Sect Master.”
Qu Panyan went along with it, nodding her head seriously, “Yes yes, only a Sect Master. Yan’er misspoke. Please punish me, esteemed Sect Master.”
She only said it casually, thinking Su Lingyu wouldn’t really punish her, but the next moment, she was proven wrong.
She couldn’t help but widen her eyes as a strange sensation spread from her earlobe, sweeping through her limbs like an electric current, tingling with a hint of peculiar comfort. It made her involuntarily tremble in Su Lingyu’s embrace—Su Lingyu was biting her ear!
Su Lingyu’s pearl-like teeth were gently nibbling on her white earlobe. Sensing the tremor in the person in her arms, she thought she had hurt her and, with an affectionate and guilty tongue, she caressed the reddened earlobe. The person in her arms instantly turned soft and boneless, their feet barely touching the ground, lost in a daze.
Su Lingyu noticed her unusual reaction and securely pulled her back into her embrace before releasing her. Then, she used her slender fingers to stroke the slightly reddened earlobe and apologetically said in a hoarse voice, “Yan’er, I’m sorry. Sister Lingyu didn’t mean to.”
Indeed, she hadn’t meant to.
After hearing Qu Panyan’s words, “Please punish me, esteemed Sect Master,” she didn’t know what happened either. It was as if she had been possessed in that instant and inexplicably bit down—almost as if her body and mind were no longer under her control.
Qu Panyan felt weak all over, almost hanging onto Su Lingyu. It took her a while to recover and absentmindedly reach for her own ear, recalling what had just happened.
—Damn!!!
As she realized what had occurred, her face turned as red as if it were bleeding. She covered her ear and pressed her head against Su Lingyu’s shoulder, feeling so embarrassed by how good it had felt that she couldn’t face herself.
—This sister must have learned something on her own!!!
I was almost about to collapse right here, and you still say it wasn’t intentional! Are you just innocently trying to bite me or something?!
You… You’ve gone too far!
Su Lingyu had absolutely no idea that she had just done something earth-shattering. In her eyes, she had just playfully bitten her beloved wife’s earlobe.
Seeing Qu Panyan covering her ear and remaining silent for a long time, she thought she might be sulking because the bite hurt. Feeling even more guilty, her tone becoming several times softer than usual as she said, “Is Yan’er angry? Please don’t be mad. Sister Lingyu didn’t mean to. Sister Lingyu knows she was wrong.”
“Not angry…” Qu Panyan’s faint voice came through, “Whatever Sister Lingyu does, I like it…”
But she preferred this kind of punishment to be saved for the evening.
Doing it in broad daylight was just too embarrassing…
“But Sister Lingyu, you can’t punish others like this, only Yan’er.”
Only Yan’er should receive this kind of punishment.
Thinking like this, Qu Panyan seemed to be even more motivated to invite Su Lingyu to correct and punish her!
Su Lingyu felt she was incredibly adorable, her lips curving into an indulgent and tender smile. “I have only one wife, who else can I punish?”
Qu Panyan became happier after hearing this, raising her head to look at Su Lingyu with a pouting expression. “Is this the sincerity of my family’s Sect Master’s apology?”
Su Lingyu smiled and gazed into those watery eyes filled with affection, but she somewhat ruined the atmosphere by reminding, “Yan’er, you still have to go to the Wu family.”
This was to ensure she didn’t forget about the main matter.
The smile on Qu Panyan’s face froze instantly, and her shoulders slumped. She felt exasperated. What’s wrong with this sister? She knew how to be affectionate on the day of their engagement, hugging and kissing so much that it was overwhelming and hard to react to. But today, she’s just killing the mood like this?
Oh well, it was her own choice. Even if she was mad, she would still love her. Let’s just make do with it, what else could she do?
Qu Panyan deliberately let out a displeased hum and playfully pushed her with a light force, and she walked ahead on her own, sounding a bit resigned, “Fine fine, let’s go now!”
I don’t believe the Wu family will disappear if I’m a second late!
However, a light laughter came from behind. Suddenly, her wrist was grasped, and the next moment, her world spun as she was pressed against a white wall, her chin tilted up, and a breath forcefully invaded her mouth, carrying a familiar and alluring fragrance.
Changhe Town only had one Wu family, a wealthy household with a grand vermilion gate decorated with gold, but it held little significance for those from prominent sects and families.
Su Lingyu and Qu Panyan were particularly unimpressed, knocking on the door calmly and waiting for someone to answer.
They didn’t have to wait long. With a muffled sound, the heavy door moved, and a servant peeked out from inside. When he saw them, his eyes couldn’t help but light up, instantly impressed by their demeanor and celestial beauty.
Su Lingyu’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she pulled her little beloved wife behind her with displeasure.
With Su Lingyu’s cold and imposing temperament, she stood straight before the servant like an awe-inspiring mountain, intimidating and making him cautious, not daring to offend. The servant felt a bit flustered and quickly averted his gaze before asking, “May I ask what business the two young ladies have?”
Qu Panyan spoke up, “We have some matters that require the assistance of the young miss of this mansion. Is she available?”
The servant scratched his head, clearly unsure of what to do. He said, “Please wait a moment, let me inform the master.” Then, he hurriedly ran off.
After a while, he returned and opened the door, politely inviting them in.
Inside the Wu mansion, paths crisscrossed in all directions, artificial hills leaned against each other, ponds filled with blooming lotus, depicting a calm and delightful scenery. The servant led the two towards the main hall. As they got closer, they suddenly heard a wail erupting from the hall, such a mournful and heart-wrenching sound, as if the person had suffered an immense grievance.
“Wuwuwu, father, I was badly beaten!”
“She even pinned me to the ground and wouldn’t let me move!”
Hearing the cries of the Wu family’s young miss, Su Lingyu suddenly recalled something. She quickly stepped past the servant and arrived at the entrance of the main hall. Sitting on the main seat was a middle-aged man, who was none other than the Wu patriarch. Kneeling in the hall was a delicate young woman, his daughter. Master Wu, with a composed and leisurely manner, sipped his tea, seemingly ignoring his daughter’s cries.
When the unexpected guests arrived at the door, Master Wu stopped sipping tea and looked in their direction. Wu Paiyun, who had been wailing, also turned her head to look. Her pupils trembled when she saw them, and then she hurriedly scrambled and crawled towards her father.
“Father! She’s the one who hit me!”
Qu Panyan finally got a clear view of Wu Paiyun’s face, and upon recognizing the “acquaintance” face, her eyebrows couldn’t help but twitch.
What kind of rotten coincidence is this?
She couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on.
What if this Wu Paiyun doesn’t cooperate?
