Chapter 20
Chapter 20: An Zijin: Then when are we getting married?
There was no doubt that Su Ming was angry again.
Although the incident had only occurred yesterday, he would definitely be even angrier today.
At least, those who browsed the forums on the college website and saw the photo of Su Ming and An Zijin hugging were all on fire like they had exploded.
As a result, people no longer discussed it like they had yesterday, but instead made simple judgments.
“If this bastard doesn’t die, it will be hard to alleviate my hatred.”
This was the only thought in everyone’s minds.
There was no self-deception or unwillingness to believe, nor was there any pursuit of the entire story and why it had become like this. Everyone only wanted to find Su Ming.
And then rip him to shreds!
So, people began to walk around the college in large numbers.
Especially An Zijin’s fan club. Those Senior Sister’s were already crazy, and they ran around the college like monsters, catching anyone they saw. The only greeting they had left was one sentence.
“Have you found Su Ming?”
These words were filled with malice.
“Crazy, crazy, they’re really crazy.”
Su Ming, hiding in an unknown corner of the academy, watched the latest news on the forum refresh every second. His hands trembled.
“I’m sorry, it’s all my fault.”
An Zijin seemed to have woken up from the joy of their reunion and realised the severity of the situation. Her small face was filled with guilt.
But An Zijin had always been holding onto a corner of Su Ming’s clothes with her small hands, as if she didn’t want to let go. Even now, in this situation, she hadn’t let go.
Su Ming didn’t find it strange.
When they were little, An Zijin would always do this. No matter where Su Ming went, she would hold a doll in one hand and grab his clothes with the other, following him everywhere and turning every place they went into their playground.
Now, almost ten years later, Su Ming hadn’t expected that this little sister of his would still have this habit.
He couldn’t scold her for it anymore and could only smile bitterly.
“Whatever.” Su Ming sighed. “Either way, I’ve already become a thorn in many people’s eyes because of Xu Qianqian yesterday.”
So what if he provoked everyone’s anger again? It wouldn’t matter that much, right?
Mm, Su Ming could only comfort himself like this.
“I’ll explain to everyone!” An Zijin seemed to feel quite guilty and was trying to do something. “If I explain properly, everyone will understand!”
This was a good idea.
With An Zijin personally explaining, even if those people were crazy, they would at least give An Zijin some face and calm down, right?
Of course, Su Ming wanted to ask just in case.
“How do you plan on explaining?”
Su Ming looked at An Zijin with hope.
An Zijin smiled brightly and said without hesitation, “I’ll tell them that even though I’m Big Brother Su Ming’s, I’ll never forget them!”
The words that the girl said with her charming smile were so warm and so cruel!
Su Ming could almost imagine what the people in the academy would look like after hearing these words.
“Are you sure this is an explanation?” Su Ming asked An Zijin with disbelief. “Why does it feel like you’re telling me to hurry up and die?”
“Why?” An Zijin tilted her head and asked in confusion, “Didn’t everyone always say that when I was little?”
“Really?” Su Ming was stunned.
“Mm-hmm.” An Zijin nodded and grinned. “Didn’t Big Brother Su Ming say that if any other boys wanted to play with me, I should just tell them that I’m Big Brother Su Ming’s?”
Su Ming was speechless.
Has that happened?
He carefully recalled the past and realised that it seemed like it had indeed happened.
The corner of Su Ming’s mouth twitched, and he felt so embarrassed that he could have carved out a three-bedroom apartment with his toes.
What the hell was I doing when I was little?!
“So those were things from when we were little, right?” Su Ming asked awkwardly. “We’re all grown up now. Why do you still remember those words?”
“They weren’t just words!” An Zijin puffed her cheeks up and said with a frown, “I’ve always remembered what Big Brother Su Ming said. Even when I got to Yinzhe City, when other boys wanted to play with me, I said the same thing!”
Su Ming suddenly felt that it would be better if he never went to Yinzhe City in his life. He had a feeling that if he did, he would encounter a second wave of pursuit.
Su Ming asked timidly, “What were their reactions after you said that?”
An Zijin happily gave Su Ming an answer. “Everyone said they wanted to get to know Big Brother Su Ming and become friends with him. I’m so happy!”
An Zijin’s words didn’t give Su Ming a warm smile, but rather a chill down his spine.
Thus, Su Ming made up his mind to never set foot in Yinzhe City again.
“Oh right.” Su Ming came back to his senses. “Why did you return to Longyao City? Where are UncleAn and Aunt An?”
An Zijin was very obedient and responded to Su Ming’s question.
“Mom and Dad are still in Yinzhe City. They can’t leave their company for too long, so they didn’t come back.” An Zijin explained gently, “I was brought back to Longyao City by the housekeeper, and I’ve been living in the dorms ever since I enrolled. But Mom and Dad contacted Uncle Su and Aunt An for me.”
Su Ming felt terrible after hearing this.
“Those two parents of mine didn’t even tell me about such a big thing?”
If he had known An Zijin had returned to Longyao City and became his junior, Su Ming would definitely have told her to be careful and not expose their relationship, lest it attract attention.
It was too late.
“Big Brother Su Ming, don’t blame Uncle and Auntie,” An Zijin quickly said. “I told Uncle and Auntie that I wanted to come find you myself and give you a surprise.”
Su Ming almost laughed out loud.
Surprise? More like a scare! No, now it’s become a horror story!
The school beauty, who was popular among the masses, suddenly became the little neighbour girl who had always followed him around when they were younger. She had even thrown herself into his arms in public, making him the target of the entire school’s wrath. What else could this be but a horror story?
“Then what about you? Why did you suddenly return to Longyao City?” Su Ming asked in confusion. “Even if you tested positive for spiritual aptitude and wanted to become a warlock, you could have enrolled in the Demon-Hunting Academy in Yinzhe City, right?”
The Demon-Hunting Academy had long since become the most important training facility in all of the major human base cities. Each city had at least one academy, if not more, to train talent to fight against spirit demons.
Yinzhe City was a coastal base city with a population of nearly 100 million, ranking first among the four major base cities. It was impossible for the city to not have a Demon-Hunting Academy.
Or perhaps it was more accurate to say that, given Yinzhe City’s conditions, the Demon-Hunting Academy there was definitely stronger than the one in Longyao City.
If An Zijin wanted to attend the Demon-Hunting Academy and become a warlock, he didn’t need to travel all the way back to Longyao City to do so.
Su Ming’s suspicion made An Zijin fidget uncomfortably.
“I decided to return to Longyao City on my own,” An Zijin said quietly. “Yinzhe City and Longyao City have an exchange student system. Every year, three students from each academy can be sent to the other as exchange students. I signed up after learning about this.”
Su Ming also knew about this exchange student system.
He had been told of it when he enrolled last year. If the students were interested, they could apply to the academy to be sent to other Demon-Hunting Academies in other base cities.
Su Ming wasn’t interested in this, and he didn’t want to leave the relatively safe base city while his strength was lacking and travel all the way to another base city. He never paid much attention to this matter.
Who would’ve thought that An Zijin would actually return to Longyao City with this system?
“Okay.” Su Ming sighed. “I didn’t expect your parents to let you come back on your own.”
“Yeah.” An Zijin’s gaze began to wander as she mumbled, “I’m an adult now, so they’re not worried about me.”
If Su Ming knew that An Zijin had just received a call from her mother a few days ago and been scolded for her actions, he definitely wouldn’t believe An Zijin’s lies.
Of course, Su Ming didn’t know that An Zijin had signed up for the exchange program without her parents’ knowledge. It wasn’t until the spot was confirmed that her parents found out.
The An family was almost ready to blow up at the time, and both An Dad and An Mom refused to let their precious daughter run off to Longyao City by herself. If it weren’t for An Zijin’s tears, she would never have been able to appear in Longyao City.
As for why An Zijin wanted to become an exchange student and attend the Demon-Hunting Academy in Longyao City, perhaps only she knew the reason.
An Zijin secretly looked at Su Ming. She stared at that familiar face that had grown even more mature, and her heart pounded.
Brother Su Ming, you’ve become so much more handsome than before.
Brother Su Ming, you’ve become so much more mature than before.
Brother Su Ming.
My Brother Su Ming.
“Heh heh. Heh heh heh.”
An Zijin suddenly let out a silly giggle.
“What’s wrong?”
Su Ming looked at An Zijin, who lowered her head and her delicate shoulders trembled slightly, and asked in surprise.
“N-nothing.” An Zijin unconsciously wiped the corner of her mouth and gave Su Ming a perfunctory smile.
Although it was only a perfunctory smile, it must be said that An Zijin’s cuteness made any kind of smile extremely lethal.
Su Ming was almost killed by cuteness.
“You’ve become even cuter than when you were little,” Su Ming couldn’t help but say.
“Really?” An Zijin’s face brightened, and she said happily, “As long as Big Brother Su Ming doesn’t dislike Xiao Jin, that’s enough.”
“How is that possible?” Su Ming laughed helplessly. “No one would dislike you.”
“Really?” An Zijin looked at Su Ming.
“Really.” Su Ming was rarely so honest.
Then, in the following second, An Zijin said something earth-shattering.
“Then when are we getting married?”
