Chapter 112: (Haya x Lin Weining)
“Get her!”
Standing in front of the live stream camera, Xu Heran, happily swaying, executed a quick turn and slide. She hopped onto a wheelchair not far from her, her long legs kneeling on the seat, her left hand resting on the armrest, while her right hand danced in the air.
Jiang Qiong immediately ran over, pushing Xu Heran from behind. The two of them chased after Haya.
Jian Yueyin and Laurel skillfully blocked the camera, holding microphones and singing happily, “Stop right there, don’t move!” “Help!—” Occasional cries for help pierced through the singing and entered the live stream.
Fans watching the live stream: “???”
“Why can’t we see something after knowing each other for so many years?”
“Seven years! I’ve been following Starlight Girls until now! If they won’t tell me who Xin is dating, fine! But now they won’t let me see Haya and Xian Xian eloping! Is our bond so weak?”
“The one in front, Xin’s love interest must be Xu Heran! Other than Xu Pearl, I won’t accept Xin dating anyone else!”
“After winning the Best Actress award, Nuo’s status on various social media platforms is all about being in love. Now at events or in photos, the ring on her left middle finger is practically a signboard away from being worn. She looks extremely happy and in love.”
“After winning the Best Actress award, No hasn’t participated in variety shows or interviews. Besides endorsements and advertisements, it’s only the photos her manager and assistant post on social media that can satisfy Knights’ hunger.”
“No-no is quite busy. When she announced her relationship at the awards ceremony, there were many marketing accounts trying to lead the way. They said Xin’s entertainment career was about to end after reaching its peak. But then Xin received a bunch of high-end endorsements and even went abroad to shoot a movie!”
“Don’t even start. Immediately, someone started spreading rumors that it was Universal’s own doing, that they gave her the endorsements first. And when it comes to filming, she’s even linked to Ms. Diana, claiming that Universal is strongly backing her.”
“It’s just sour grapes. The endorsements were clearly offered by an S country brand first. And as for the three major luxury brands under Universal Group, even before SGS’ solo debut, all eight girls have endorsed various series from those brands. It’s just that after Nuo lifted the Best Actress trophy, she was promoted from endorsing a series to endorsing the entire region. Plus, Ms. Diana, who had retired for years, made a comeback and said in an interview that if it wasn’t for Xin, she wouldn’t have taken on the script.”
“So the overseas fans are really excited and interested in Xin. They’re even watching her movies, TV dramas, and her past performances from her time in the group. SGS has been solo for four years, and now the overseas fan clubs are even more lively than the ones in China.”
“But the one really on fire overseas is still Pearl, I suppose. Ever since she released a single abroad and it immediately exploded in popularity, her looks, talent, and family background are all flawless. In just a week, her international fanbase caught up to her Weibo followers in China. I suspect even the entire Blue Country is paying attention to her.”
“Hahaha, after all, she’s Diana’s own granddaughter. Her eyes have both the auspicious blue of the mascot and her grandmother’s purple. Can you find such a magical eye color anywhere else on the planet? The key is that her eye color is stunning, and she’s beautiful too. Well, there’s nothing to be done if the heavens favor her. I saw fans bringing in recipes to show their support, and many Blue Country folks are complaining that Diana kept her granddaughter hidden too well. They say she should have let her start acting when she was young, maybe she could have even carried on her grandmother’s legacy. They’re only seeing little Pearl now and feeling very regretful.”
“Hahaha, talking about Haya and XianXian, and yet somehow it’s turned to NuoNuo and ZhuZhu. It seems everyone is extremely interested in NuoNuo’s relationship.”
“Until NuoNuo announces her partner’s identity, I’ll swear that NuoNuo’s partner is ZhuZhu! They’re inseparable! “
“…Could it be that NuoNuo is not revealing her romantic partner to take care of the shipper fans? Wah wah wah.”
“NuoNuo has already announced her relationship. Every fan group has gone wild with excitement. Don’t keep spamming it in the livestream, it’s not very appropriate.”
“Yeah, yeah, sorry. I just haven’t seen NuoNuo and ZhuZhu for so long, so I’m pretty excited.”
“Don’t get carried away! Haya and XianXian are here, all chubby!”
In the camera frame, Xu Heran and Jiang Qiong were pulling Haya’s wheelchair. Haya was sitting, and Lin Weining was kneeling on her lap, waving at the camera.
“In three weeks, there’s a concert. Everyone should come!” Lin Weining leaned forward, intentionally leaning on Haya.
Haya hugged Lin Weining’s waist with a happy expression. Lin Weining’s perfume had a sweet scent that lingered on Haya’s neck, a place not usually touched by perfume.
Haya squinted her eyes and through the gap between Lin Weining’s arms, she saw Xu Heran hugging her own arm, her gaze fixed on her with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.
Haya raised an eyebrow.
What’s up?
Xu Heran raised an eyebrow in response.
Nothing.
With NuoNuo not around to hug her, Xu Heran stepped on the footrest of Haya’s wheelchair, using her legs to pull the wheelchair with both of them closer to her.
Lin Weining on the wheelchair was startled, instinctively hugging Haya tightly.
Haya buried her face in the soft embrace of the girl’s fragrance. When Lin Weining belatedly realized her actions and apologized before jumping down from the wheelchair, Haya tilted her head indifferently.
While Lin Weining went to join the others on the couch to have some snacks, Haya turned her head, raised her arm, and clenched her fist, “Thanks.”
Xu Heran slapped her hand away with a “smack,” sneering as she left.
“Friend, your ears can be barbecued.”
“Ahem.” Haya cleared her throat. “Is the livestream over? I haven’t performed for everyone yet.”
“Performing Haya’s wheelchair show?”
Jian Yueyin chuckled, “If you want to perform, why not wait for FYU’s solo concert to do it on stage?”
There was an implied meaning in her words, as she first glanced at Haya, then swiftly shifted her gaze to Lin Weining’s face.
Lin Weining was sipping her drink and immediately lowered her eyes upon hearing the comment.
Haya patted the armrest and smiled, “Sure, as long as Sister Cui doesn’t mind.”
“Sister Cui gave up since the night when NuoNuo publicly announced her relationship. As long as you don’t announce your relationship during the concert.” Laurel leaned against the couch, playing with her phone. After she finished speaking, she paused for a moment, then looked up, “You wouldn’t, right?”
Haya bent down, picked up a fork from the table, skewered a piece of fruit and ate it. The four people on the couch beside Lin Weining all turned their heads in unison, staring at Haya with an incredulous look.
Xu Heran leaned over, stared into Haya’s eyes for three seconds, and raised her hand, “Reporting to the captain, Haya’s eyes don’t show any eagerness.”
“Then she must have big eyes.” Jian Yueyin remarked.
At least she can write four words.
Haya remained unfazed while eating, whispering, “I’ll consider this after I’ve won them over.”
“Oh~” the tone of the group’s conversation changed.
Jian Yueyin lifted her arm and hugged Lin Weining’s shoulder, using a light and airy tone to ask, “Darling XianXian, do you think Haya can win over the person she likes?”
Lin Weining: “…”
The girl’s face turned red all of a sudden.
Xu Heran picked up an egg and slammed it heavily on the table, “I bet an egg, she can!”
“And a bottle of milk!” Jiang Qiong exclaimed.
“Betting on this is boring. Let’s bet on how long it takes for Haya.” Laurel’s tone grew excited as she looked around, then grabbed a pack of sunflower seeds.
“I bet two months!”
“You’re underestimating Haya too much.” Jiang Qiong stood up excitedly, “Two bottles of milk, one month and twenty-nine days!”
Jian Yueyin immediately turned her head and asked Lin Weining, “What do you think?”
Haya: “…”
Xu Heran stood up and said to Lin Weining, who was leaning against her, “XianXian, I think it will take half a year. What do you think?”
Haya: “?”
The person who had just said two months suddenly realized something and stood up excitedly, saying, “Half a year is too short! A year! Right, XianXian?”
“No, no, half a year is too short. How about ten years or half a decade?” Xu Heran chimed in.
Lin Weining let out a sigh and touched her hair, whispering, “Don’t ask me about these things.”
“Join us in guessing, XianXian,” Jiang Qiong instigated.
Xu Heran poked the seemingly lifeless Haya sitting in the wheelchair, “If we guess right, do we get a reward?”
Haya, feeling annoyed, asked, “What do you want?”
Xu Heran smiled, “That depends on what you’re willing to give.”
Jian Yueyin’s eyes twinkled, “Candy?”
Haya licked her lips, subconsciously followed with a chuckle, raised her hand to cover her forehead, and let the shadow of her hand fall over her eyes. Beneath her straight and elegant nose, her lips curled, unable to hide her amusement.
The people between Lin Weining and Haya immediately reacted with an “Oh~”.
Jian Yueyin chuckled as she leaned back, arms crossed. “RanRan, do you want to eat Haya’s candy or your own?”
“Cough!” Xu Heran immediately pretended to choke, patting her chest. As she patted, her left index finger hooked out a silver chain from her neck and dangled it in front of her chest.
The others sitting beside her rolled their eyes, and some of them smirked while tossing sunflower seed shells.
Haya looked at the shiny ring on her fingertip and pondered for a moment.
“It’s October now.”
“Three months, betting on Xiao Hei.”
