Chapter 62
While five of the eight members of SGS were sacrificing themselves for finals, the second mini album of the SGS girl group was released. This mini album consisted of five songs and was titled “Hi.”
“This album contains greetings from our members to everyone, our expectations for the future, and our gratitude for everyone’s companionship. We wish everyone a happy new year,” SGS’s captain, Jian Yueyin, smiled and spoke to the camera.
“Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!” the other girls waved.
After leaving the television station and getting into the chauffeured car, the girls dressed gorgeously and adorned with beautiful makeup immediately took out their notes from their backpacks and began reciting.
“How would you evaluate SGS Captain Jian Yueyin’s widespread use of a simple thank you message on music programs big and small throughout the city?” Xu Heran said with a smile as she opened snacks.
Today, there were eight people in the chauffeured car, driven by Sister Cui. The three who didn’t have to rush for finals were seated up front, as Jiang Qiong put it, “Out of sight, out of mind.”
Jian Yueyin accepted a chocolate bar from her and said with a beaming smile, “As long as it works.”
Xu Heran wholeheartedly agreed. She looked back and saw the girls holding their notes, each one bowing their heads, completely ignoring them.
“Tsk tsk, some idols are full of passion on stage, smiling as sweetly as flowers, but at night they hug their books and cry because they can’t finish reading them,” Xu Heran chuckled.
The girls at the back were immersed in the sea of knowledge. After a while, Jiang Qiong slowly lifted her head and asked, “Is Xu Pearl mocking me?”
Laurel showed a sympathetic expression and patted the head of a dog-like plush toy.
“No, just learning from you.”
“The child has become foolish,” Jian Yueyin said.
Xu Heran burst into laughter and was told by the manager to sit properly.
A girl whose body was twisted 180 degrees said with a twinkle in her eyes, “I’m sitting just fine.”
Her gaze passed over Xin Nuo.
The black-haired girl still had specks of glitter in her hair, emitting a faint glow in the dim light of the car. From this angle, only her slowly moving eyelashes could be seen.
“Don’t keep looking. It’s dark inside the car. Everyone take a break. We’ll watch when we get back,” Cui Qi shouted, “Hurry up.”
“Everyone, behave.”
The five in the back reluctantly put down their hands.
Xin Nuo hugged her notes, slipped her hands into her down jacket, and looked up at Xu Heran, whose body was turning, her eyes seeming to be fixed on Xin Nuo.
“I’ll be waiting for your college entrance exam next year. If you don’t do well, you’re done for,” she threatened.
Jian Yueyin immediately said, “Don’t put pressure on the child. It’s a piece of cake for Ranran to get into Peking University, right, Ranran?”
Xu Heran: “…”
A pearl silently disappeared behind the backrest.
“Ranran is really smart, isn’t she? President Xu often contacts me about your studies. Everyone is confident in your exam results,” Cui Qi casually remarked. Xu Heran suddenly felt a mountain called pressure pressing down on her head.
“That’s right. Speaking of being smart, I forgot to ask you all, how did the shooting for 《Crazy Interpretation》 go?” Jiang Qiong asked. “Was it fun?”
Xin Nuo nodded.
Song Fenghua, eyes closed, softly asked, “Did they catch you?”
“Did you skip a question?” Xu Heran chuckled and said, “Keep it confidential. Please watch the program and support the viewership. Thank you.”
“What about the finals?” Haya asked. “When will the TV show air?”
“On Christmas day, along with your concert. By then, even if you want to watch, you won’t be able to,” Cui Qi turned the steering wheel and entered a private forest park. “By the way, Weining, how’s the preparation for your debut stage?”
“Wait a minute!” Xu Heran immediately straightened up, “Weining’s debut stage?”
Xin Nuo tilted her head, surprised as she looked at Lin Weining sitting next to Haya, “Isn’t Weinan with us?”
“She’s with you, but officially, Weinan is still an auxiliary member of SGS, a trainee under Universal Entertainment,” Cui Qi said, “And since the company wants to diversify its development, they’ll keep introducing new groups. On Christmas night, Weinan will first join you on the music program, and her debut girl group will make a brief appearance at your concert. Then, she’ll go straight to participate in the live broadcast of ‘Star Sound,’ and after that, she’ll return to continue participating in the concert.”
“Originally, your concert was planned for a thousand people, but considering the new group’s first appearance, it’s been increased to five thousand, using the same hall as the debut day of 《Starlight Girls》”
Xu Heran’s eyebrows furrowed tightly, “So Weining will join another group from now on?”
“Not exactly.” Lin Weining smiled and said, “She’ll be shuttling between the two.”
Xu Heran: “?”
“Remember, your group only has a limited two-year activity period,” Cui Qi’s words quieted the atmosphere in the car for a moment.
Xu Heran leaned back in her seat without saying a word.
“After this year’s Christmas concert, everyone needs to prepare for the March concert next year. During these three months, Weinan will be leading her group’s activities.” Cui Qi had originally planned to say more, but sensing the atmosphere in the car, she changed her words, “Anyway, for the remaining year and a half, Weining will have to work hard.”
Lin Weining looked out the window and smiled, “It won’t be hard.”
“Alright, everyone rest well today and prepare for the concert. Even though there will only be five thousand people at the live venue this time, it will be simultaneously broadcasted.”
“Okay.” The atmosphere within the team was somewhat subdued as the girls entered the living room one after another.
“Why didn’t you tell me about this?” Xu Heran said, hands on hips, “Forming a small group behind my back with Nuo Nuo! Isolating you guys!”
Jiang Qiong slumped onto the sofa, saying, “It was the two days you were away that Sister Cui came to talk to us about it and discussed future plans.”
Everyone sat around the table in a row.
Lin Weining said, “I’ve talked with Sister Cui before. I plan to try being in a girl group first. I think with my current abilities, I wouldn’t develop as well if I go solo.”
She seemed a bit bashful, “And besides, I like the feeling of being in a team, having support.”
Haya sat beside her, lifted her hand, and pinched Lin Weining’s scattered hair. “Be confident. You’ll definitely do well.”
Xin Nuo placed her water cup on the table and calmly said, “Indeed, our group only has a two-year limited term, and now, we have only a year and a half left.”
Everyone nodded.
“Well, since we’re all in the same company, living together, at least until I get married, I don’t plan to move out of here,” Laurel suddenly spoke.
Just as everyone was sighing about the fleeting nature of time, all seven girls simultaneously looked up in shock at Laurel, who had an expressionless face and an air of indifference.
“Marriage?” Xu Heran widened her eyes.
“With whom?” Jiang Qiong’s notebook fell to the ground with a “pat.”
Jian Yueyin scanned Laurel from top to bottom with an expression that seemed to say, “I didn’t expect you to have this ability.”
Song Fenghua nodded, “Laurel indeed gives off the feeling of a virtuous wife and loving mother.”
Laurel: “… Thank you, I just mentioned it casually, that’s roughly the idea.”
Xin Nuo smiled and asked, “When are you getting married?”
“Yeah, how many tables are you planning?” Haya said with a smile, “Is Laurel the chef personally in charge?”
Lin Weining blinked her eyes and whispered, “Huh?”
“When did Laurel start dating?”
“I didn’t!” A faint blush colored Laurel’s face, “Don’t get your priorities mixed up!”
Everyone laughed cheerfully, “The priority is marriage, right?”
“Yeah, exactly!”
Laurel rolled up her sleeves a bit, and everyone immediately averted their gaze, looking at each other and bursting into laughter.
The sadness about the separation a year later instantly dissipated. Even though everyone had known each other for less than a year, there was a feeling of having been old friends for a long time.
“I’m not moving out either,” Jiang Qiong said, “My goal is to develop well, work at the company until retirement, because I want to get discounts, buy a large villa in the park for my parents to live in. Buying a house here is prestigious, and with our status as outstanding employees, how much money can we save!”
“Very ambitious,” Xu Heran teased her.
Jiang Qiong threw a cushion at her, “You’re just a little pearl who doesn’t understand the hardships of the common people!”
“But what Jiong’er said is true. Hai City is one of the top cities in China, with great scenery, top-notch transportation and medical facilities. It’s not a bad idea to buy a house here for retirement,” Jian Yueyin said with a smile, “Why don’t the eight of us buy eight connected villas? When we’re old, we can still visit each other.”
“Right, let’s all enroll in a senior citizen university together and stay up late together during finals, what do you think?” Xu Heran lay on the ground, using a pillow as support, and said with a cheerful smile.
No need for anyone to signal to Xin Nuo, the black-haired girl ruthlessly reached out and snatched the pillow away, causing Little Pearl’s head to thud against the floor.
“By the way, who’s in the new group?” Xin Nuo frowned, “Are they easy to get along with?”
Xu Heran rubbed her head and rolled over on the ground, propping herself up with her head, “Yeah, if they’re not easy to get along with, just let us know. I want to see who dares to bully you!”
“We’re all your family, if they’re not easy to get along with, treat them as regular colleagues. And if anyone dares to bully you, come home and tell us, we’ll have your back!” Xu Heran raised her fist.
Lin Weining giggled while lying on Haya, her heart feeling both warm and full, overwhelmed by the emotions of gratitude.
“But don’t let your Sister Ran hear this. After all, she’s been your captain before,” Jian Yueyin said gently.
“Huh?” Xu Heran’s eyes lit up, “There’s Sister Lin Ran?”
“Well, that’s all right then. Sister Lin Ran is one of us!” Xu Heran said with a cheerful smile, “You should have told us earlier.”
“And besides, Weinan is the center of the group,” Haya clapped.
Xu Heran immediately joined in the applause.
After everyone clapped, Lin Weining wiped away the tears that had formed from her laughter and said, “We have Sister Lin Ran, Yuemeng, Shiyi, and Jing Rui.”
With each name she mentioned, Xu Heran’s heart sank a bit. After she finished, her heart completely dropped into her stomach.
“Oh, they’re all our old acquaintances!” Xu Heran said happily, “And they’re all gentle girls.”
“Yeah,” Lin Weining nodded, “The style of the new group is set to be gentle and pure. The group’s name is FYU, which stands for ‘for you.'”
“For me,” Xu Heran raised her thumb, “I agree.”
“Then Weining really has to thank you for agreeing,” Xin Nuo said with a smile, “It looks like Weining is going to be on the path of a girl group for a while.”
“Yeah,” Lin Weining nodded.
“Nuo Nuo, a year and a half later, are you going to focus on acting?” Haya asked.
“Barring any unexpected circumstances, yes,” Xin Nuo said, glancing at the young girls around her. “Pearl wants to be a singer, and Yueyin too, right?”
Jian Yueyin nodded.
Laurel raised her thumb, indicating an agreement.
Haya said, “I’m actually interested in being a singing and dancing artist. I also want to try rapping with Laurel. I don’t have any specific goals in mind, as long as I’m happy.”
The girls laughed cheerfully.
Haya poked Song Fenghua, “How about you?”
Song Fenghua looked a bit dazed.
“Oh, I remember now,” Xu Heran sat up and said, “During the MV shoot, the director mentioned that Xiao Fenghua and Nuo Nuo both have potential for the big screen.”
“Me?” Song Fenghua said in surprise, “I haven’t studied acting, and…”
She raised her hand, using the back of her hand to cover her face.
“You can do it, remember your performance on the 《Yaco》 stage? You did so well,” Jian Yueyin said.
Song Fenghua helplessly said, “It’s all because of your weird tastes.”
Jian Yueyin laughed even more.
“You’re great. You learn singing quickly, so your acting skills are probably good too,” Xin Nuo said softly, “Try more, experiment a few times to figure out what you want, whether it’s song performances or dancing.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Xu Heran nodded, “We all believe in you.”
Song Fenghua’s eyes curved.
Next to her, Jiang Qiong loudly exclaimed, “I want money!”
“Splurt!”
“You’re something else,” Haya poked her head, “Jing’er can definitely develop well in the path of being a comedian and carve out new horizons.”
“Then I’ll definitely bring along Xu Pearl!” Jiang Qiong said.
Xu Heran patted her bottom and stood up, “Is Little Pearl just someone you can pull along? I declare the first-ever SGS life discussion meeting officially over. Everyone, disperse!”
Jiang Qiong angrily said, “I haven’t even shared my life insights yet!”
Xu Heran immediately extended her hand, making a “go ahead” gesture.
Jiang Qiong thought for a moment and said with frustration, “I haven’t come up with any ideas yet.”
“It means you have many choices,” Xin Nuo said gently.
“True,” Jiang Qiong thought for a moment, feeling that Xin Nuo was right, and she felt a bit happy. “At least I don’t have to go back to being an assistant. This is my progress.”
“You don’t have to be an assistant, but you have to study for your exams, Jing’er. Work hard towards your finals!” Xu Heran’s voice drifted out from the kitchen.
In the living room, the five girls who were about to face their finals froze simultaneously.
“Xu Heran!”
Jian Yueyin waved her hand with a smile, “Let it go, let it go.”
At night, in a certain entertainment subforum, a user named “PearlBeiBenBei” posted a topic.
“?”
“If you don’t understand, ask. Universal Entertainment is so rich, why did they create this ID-limited album purchase? Each person can only buy one!”
Someone immediately commented, “Poor people remain silent.”
“Oh, can’t I buy just one?” someone questioned.
“You can’t!!”
“Whining… the key is that the Christmas concert tickets will be drawn online according to the ID number. There are only five thousand spots. How am I supposed to win the draw?”
“Use a few more accounts?” the puzzled user suggested.
PearlBeiBenBei: “No, it won’t work, hnnggg… sister, are you a new fan? The selection for drawing on-site tickets is based on fan value. New users are directly filtered out, and those with insufficient fan value are also filtered out. Only loyal fans of the group can enter the ticket draw for free!”
PearlBeiBenBei: “Damn it! I, who am fully aware of my aura, am restricted in my money-making ability. How can I compare myself to those non-supporters!”
“Stop talking, sis. Who isn’t in the same boat? The ticket draw is about to start in five minutes. I’m silently praying now, pick me, pick me, pick me!”
“I’m willing to remain single for three years in exchange for one SGS Christmas concert ticket! May all the Buddhas bless me, Amen!”
“…”
Five minutes later, in the entertainment subforum’s SGS girl group section, a chorus of wailing erupted.
PearlBeiBenBei: “Whining, woof woof woof, whining woof whining woof, I cried so loudly!”
“I didn’t get picked after all, ah ah ah! Five thousand tickets, why couldn’t one of them be mine!”
“Pat pat, it’s okay. Next year, the girls will probably have a concert. Then you can compete for tickets with at least ten thousand people!”
“… What should I do if I feel even sadder!”
PearlBeiBenBei: “Wipe away tears bravely. Sister, you’re a new fan, do you want me to introduce you to the viewing sequence of various stages and the wonderful edits of the group’s variety shows? If you’re into shipping, I have recommendations here too.” The user who had just comforted her spoke gently, “No need, I’m a fan of the group. I’ve been silently signing in and watching programs. I don’t post often, and I really like Xin Nuo and Jian Yueyin, those calm and gentle girls. By the way, the tickets you mentioned, are they the ones that are directly sent to the coupon section of the app? I think I won, it’s quite a surprise. ^o^”
PearlBeiBenBei: “???”
Others: “???”
“Chopped out! Chop out the lucksack!”
“Worthy of being Nuo Nuo and Yin Yin’s fan… I can feel it.”
PearlBeiBenBei: “The more I think, the angrier I get. Hnnng—agh!”
December 24th, Christmas.
Xu Heran glanced at her phone and exclaimed, “It seems like it’s going to snow.”
“Snow is common around Christmas in Haicheng. Many couples take photos and make wishes in front of the castle. It’s quite romantic,” Jiang Qiong, a local of Haicheng, said to everyone. “After our exams, do you want to go to the amusement park together?”
“In the middle of winter, to endure the cold wind?” Jian Yueyin didn’t understand.
“… You’re a music creator, bring out your romantic side!” Jiang Qiong chastised her.
The eight SGS girls sat on the dedicated floor of Universal Entertainment, preparing for the upcoming concert.
Haya stood up, dressed in all black with tassels hanging from her sleeves. Her makeup was heavy, making her look very alluring. Satisfied with her makeup, she took a selfie in front of the mirror and chuckled upon hearing Jiang Qiong’s voice, “What’s the point of going to an amusement park? Instead of taking a break, why don’t we all go to my hometown? We can go see the ice exhibition, have a snowball fight. Have you ever been to an ice-made amusement park?”
Jian Yueyin glanced at her and chuckled softly, “But Weining can’t come with us~”
Lin Weining was surrounded by two makeup artists and managed to move her eyes slightly.
“True,” Haya shrugged, “Then maybe next year.”
Xu Heran walked out of the changing room and smiled, “Is that okay, Haya? Can you be sincere with us?”
Xin Nuo’s chair was turned away from the changing room door. She saw the girl who had just walked out, still adjusting her sleeves. Xin Nuo’s gaze subtly shifted.
“What time is 《Crazy Interpretation》 airing?” she asked her assistant in a soft voice.
“At 8 PM,” the assistant replied.
Xin Nuo nodded.
In the makeup room, a few girls turned their heads to look at Xu Heran and their eyes showed astonishment.
“Wow, you look too good!”
“Are you a real person? Not CG?”
In stark contrast to Haya’s black outfit, the girl dressed in clothing and hair of the same color seemed like a deity walking out of a world wrapped in silver and pure. The evening gown hugged her figure, the fabric had texture, reflecting the light in the room.
Her long straight silver hair was tied high at the back of her head, and her boots were somewhat high. Standing next to Haya, their heights were almost identical.
Many of Xu Heran’s fans knew that she had a significant contrast between her onstage and offstage appearances, including her makeup. Today, Xu Heran’s makeup had a cold tone, and when she didn’t smile, her eyelashes drooped, making her seem like an otherworldly deity. However, when she earnestly looked at you with her blue-purple eyes, a touch of innocence unfamiliar with the ways of the world emerged.
“Please give me a thinner pair of gloves, ones with more friction,” Xu Heran told the costume designer, “I’m afraid the microphone might slip out of my hands.”
The costume designer quickly went to find gloves for her.
“Thank you, friends. Don’t stop with the compliments. Don’t worry, I won’t become arrogant,” Xu Heran’s expression was modest and low-key.
The other girls who had been falling for her good looks and charm couldn’t help but laugh at her words. Jiang Qiong shook her head, “Since you look so good today, I’ll spare you the disdainful look I have for you.”
“You say that,” Xu Heran replied discontentedly, “As if I don’t look good any other day.”
“Right?”
She said to Xin Nuo.
Xin Nuo sat in front of the mirror doing final touch-ups. She raised an eyebrow at Xu Heran reflected in the mirror. The girl with silver hair walked over, leaning her arm on the back of the chair, coming close enough to Xin Nuo to see the tiny white snowflakes stuck to her eyelashes.
The beautiful girl held her face and smiled at Xin Nuo’s reflection in the mirror, but she whispered, “Nuonuo looks really pretty.”
“You’re the prettiest,” Xin Nuo replied in a gentle voice. She curved her lips upwards and lifted her hand slightly. Xu Heran immediately rested her chin in the palm of Xin Nuo’s hand.
Cui Qi walked in from the door, clapped her hands, and said, “Thirty minutes left, everyone, get ready.”
“Alright.”
Xin Nuo’s makeup artist stepped aside, “Done.”
“Thank you.” Xin Nuo lightly touched Xu Heran’s face, stood up, and went to the dressing room to change. As she passed Xu Heran, the two scents of perfume mixed in the air as they brushed against each other, creating an indescribable fragrance.
Xu Heran gave it a faint sniff and vaguely felt that it was the scent of fresh snow.
“Dong dong.”
In the live broadcast room where millions were waiting, a knocking sound suddenly came from the black screen. SGS fans’ spirits were lifted.
She’s here!
In the dark broadcasting hall, a beam of light fell on the center of the stage, where a wooden door stood. The camera zoomed in, as if someone was walking slowly toward the door. Knocking sounds echoed, and the door opened.
“Ah ah ah!”
Amidst the screams, the woman in the red dress sitting on the stool lifted her gaze and raised the purple-blue microphone in her hand.
“On a boring night, add a touch of ambiguity to the clear water, letting the atmosphere tinge with a blush.” The melodious voice of the woman with elegance turned low, and she slightly arched her eyebrow at the camera, her red lips curling up. In the audience, behind the camera, countless hearts skipped a beat, enveloped by the ambiguous atmosphere, and raced in excitement.
“Xin… Xin Nuo?”
In the frame, the white snow-white legs of a girl crossed, her red skirt resembling a pomegranate flower, hanging to the ground. In the camera frame, the girl extended her delicate arm, her nails painted red, making her fingers appear even fairer.
“Click,” a sound, and the girl’s fingers tugged on the hidden lamp cord in the darkness.
A European-style lamp lit up, its shade inverted like a flower, casting a dim yellow light. Following Xin Nuo’s aperture expansion, it illuminated the girl in a blue dress next to her.
Song Fenghua’s long lashes drooped, leaning against a brown sofa, her left hand supporting her chin, her blue microphone near her red lips, “Hi, in this blue-toned night, you and I, just you and me.”
“Aroma spreads, atmosphere ignites, hi, hi, in this night, in this night,” Xin Nuo chuckled lightly, singing softly, leaning against the elegant seat.
“The untied lace falls onto the dim yellow lampshade, light flickers, in this night, hi, hi, in this night,” Song Fenghua faced the camera, curling her fingers.
The fans below the stage instantly became excited, thrilled.
The barrage in the live broadcast room flowed continuously.
“What! What is this!!!”
“Another version of 《Hi》?”
“Jian Yueyin: The song 《Hi》 is full of hope for the future, gratitude to everyone, joy in meeting each other. The song is lively and cute, very suitable for our members—If I hadn’t heard this today, I’d believe it!”
“Ah ah ah, I didn’t hear this in the album! What a surprise!”
“Ah—Is this Christmas Eve? This is clearly the bridal chamber night of me, Nuo Nuo and Fenghua! All of you, get away from us! Don’t disturb us!”
“The guy who commented upstairs ^ , it’s time for dishes!”
On the stage, girls in different colored long dresses appeared one after another, unlike their usual liveliness. They sang lightly with a lazy tone.
This was the second sexy-style song of SGS, following 《Follow Me》
“When it comes to being sexy, what about Little Pearl…”
“Hehe, Little Pearl indeed can’t be too sexy, hahaha, merciless mockery.”
The barrage on the screen hadn’t yet left the sight when another beam of light descended. In front of the bar counter, a girl with long legs propped up on a stool, her toes touching the ground, crossed her arms, palms holding a blue-purple microphone. Silver hair cascaded like a waterfall, and a hint of cold indifference played at the corners of her eyes.
“Perhaps, you need this night. Perhaps, you need some time to dispel boredom.”
“Hi, in this night.”
“Perhaps, you need to sort it out yourself. Perhaps, you need to repeat the verification. Hi, this boring night, this numb time.”
“Do you want to fully experience this night? Hi, it’s this night…”
Fans: “…”
“Ah ah ah ah ah!”
“Xu Pearl!!!”
“Mom loves you, Xu Heran!!”
“The secret technique of hitting high notes while sitting! Smooth transitions!”
“My mouth is watering because I want to kiss Pearl Pearl’s legs.”
“Ah, ah, ah, why is my goose so white now! So white! Is it because you want Mom, to be together all night! Mom knows, Mom understands! Mom misses you too, mwah mwah mwah!”
As the song ended, the eight girls sat on the stage designed for the late-night setting, smiling at the audience below and the camera.
The stage lights lit up, and the large screen in the circular hall displayed the scenes from inside the live broadcast room.
Jian Yueyin was the first to stand up, waving at everyone.
“Hello, everyone, we are—”
“SGS!!!”
From the audience below, five thousand spectators shouted in unison.
“Why are you stealing lines again?” Xu Heran said with a laugh, “I’m Xu Heran, everyone, Merry Christmas!”
“Ran Ran!”
“Pearl!”
“Little Pearl!”
“Mom’s big girl!”
Countless nicknames were hurled onto the stage, and Little Pearl shook her head after hearing them.
“No idioms today?” Xu Heran looked down and smiled, “Is everyone done with their final exams?”
On the stage, the students who had finished their final exams, led by Jiang Qiong, raised their fists towards Xu Heran.
In the audience below, many young college students who had come to watch the concert responded one after another, “No!”
“Well, that won’t do. Although concerts are great, you should also study hard~” Some Pearl, who hadn’t yet entered college, earnestly advised.
Xin Nuo raised her hand and smiled, “Yes, please let our classmate Xu Heran set a good example for everyone and don’t forget to study hard.”
Xu Heran stuck out her tongue and turned to hold Xin Nuo’s hand.
Amid suggestive voices from the fans, Xin Nuo spoke gently, “Hello, everyone, I’m SGS Xin Nuo.”
“We are about to enter the new year, wishing everyone a happy new year.”
One by one, the eight members of SGS greeted the fans on-site and in the live broadcast room. When it was Lin Weining’s turn, the girl in black hair and white dress smiled peacefully.
“I’m Lin Weining, one of the main characters in SGS’s MV, a trainee from Universal Entertainment.”
Haya raised the microphone, “That’s her self-proclaimed title. All of us, the seven fairies and one goddess of SGS, know that, right?”
“Yes—” the fans dragged out their response.
Lin Weining’s fans raised support signs that read “SGS: Beautiful as Celestial Beings.”
“Well, for the past six months, living and eating together with everyone, even if some people don’t acknowledge it, I want to say it loudly: I, Lin Weining, am one of the members of SGS. Hello, everyone, I’m SGS Lin Weining!” Suddenly, Lin Weining’s eyes turned red, and she spoke loudly. She bent down, bowing to the audience below.
“Ning Ning!!”
“Don’t cry, Ning Ning, you’re the best!”
Lin Weining stood up with a smile.
“Thank you all for your love, and I’m also very happy that SGS’s fans have accepted me. I’m grateful to the company, to my friends around me, to those who have supported and encouraged me, and to the fans who have brought me to this point. However, today I have something to announce.” Lin Weining nervously licked the corner of her mouth and tightly gripped the white microphone.
A bad idea suddenly surged into everyone’s minds, and the barrage in the live broadcast room paused.
No way…
In the audience below, Lin Weining’s fans looked uneasy and fearful, their arm hair standing on end.
“I, SGS’s Lin Weining, will debut tonight on Universal TV’s 《Voice of the Stars》as the leader of the For You girl group. From now on, I will be the first female idol with dual group identities under Universal Entertainment. Please show your support!”
All the fans: “…”
After the silence, a barrage scrolled across the live broadcast room.
“Scared the life out of me!!!”
“Waaah, I thought Ning Ning was going to leave the group, but you’re telling me you’re debuting?”
“Wait, Ning Ning didn’t debut?”
“Aaah, you scared me so much!”
In the audience, fans placed their hands on their hearts in an instant.
“What’s wrong, what’s wrong?” Xu Heran said playfully, “Is it because of Ning Ning’s identity? She’s the captain~”
“Scared me to death!!” everyone shouted.
Lin Weining helplessly said, “It’s me who’s been scared all along. I was afraid that everyone wouldn’t accept it.”
Xin Nuo immediately spoke, “Although Weining is the captain of FYU, she will still participate in all SGS activities. Please don’t worry.”
“Yes, when you think about it, we’re basically leasing Weining out, right?” Xu Heran tilted her head and looked at her teammates beside her.
Everyone nodded and laughed.
Perhaps it was due to their trust in SGS or a reluctance to bring it up, but the news of Lin Weining debuting as the leader of another girl group after two years of SGS’s dissolution was relatively well accepted by everyone.
“Although Ning Ning will debut tonight, the other four members of FYU are here with us. After all, Ning Ning is our own family member. We can’t just let them borrow her as the leader so easily, right?” Haya asked.
The fans quickly responded, “Yes!”
Jiang Qiong exclaimed, “Shouldn’t we let them perform in advance and let everyone assess it?”
“We should!!”
As the hosts, the seven members of SGS applauded and announced, “Let’s welcome Universal Entertainment trainees Lin Ran, Shu Yuemeng, Sang Shiyi, and Jing Rui!”
With each name they called out, the volume of the audience’s cheers grew. When the four beautiful girls in white with different styles and exquisite makeup stood on the stage, the cheers from the audience suddenly intensified.
Many of SGS’s fans had followed these eight individuals from trainees to debut. Those who hadn’t watched the program but became fans of SGS later had caught up on 《Starlight Girls》 after becoming fans of SGS. Every girl who appeared on the stage at this moment was recognized and familiar to them!
Aren’t these all our old acquaintances!
Moreover, these four girls, along with Sasa, Youyou, and Luo Xi, were often seen as NPCs on the SGS show.
Now, even fans who hadn’t watched 《Starlight Girls》 were letting go of their previous dissatisfaction.
Great, they’re all familiar faces. Lin Weining wasn’t intentionally pulled away by Universal Entertainment to form a group with strangers. The apprehensions that had risen were immediately set aside.
“In order to show sincerity, they will perform their debut song at the Christmas concert venue today.” Xu Heran raised her hand, and everyone joined her in applause.
This was the conclusion they had reached after discussing with Cui Qi – to give fans time to accept Lin Weining’s new group, which was being unveiled ahead of the concert.
Xu Heran and the others stood by the side of the stage, watching the five girls dance on the stage, their lips curling into smiles.
To encourage the new group, the fans in the audience gave enthusiastic applause. The song, which was less than five minutes long, quickly came to an end. Lin Weining let out a breath, smiled, and waved to everyone.
She leaned slightly to the side, raised her hand, and pointed to the four girls beside her.
Lin Ran smiled and raised the microphone, “Hello, everyone. We are FYU, which stands for ‘For You’ in the song. Please show us your support!”
“Go for it!”
SGS members and fans cheered together.
After the four FYU members left the stage, the real concert began.
The first song was SGS’s debut track, 《Stellar Catch》 Xu Heran’s high notes reverberated in the concert hall. No matter how many times they heard it, whenever the song played, an indescribable power ignited in the hearts of the fans.
Following that were songs from their first album: 《About You》 《Firefly》 《Mercury, Mercury》 《Chance》… The concert started at 5 PM, and by around 8 PM, Cui Qi walked out onto the stage’s side and waved to everyone.
Xu Heran adjusted her earpiece and smiled, saying, “Since this is a live concert, we’re taking song requests from the audience.”
From the audience, various song titles were immediately shouted.
Jiang Qiong raised her hand and rubbed her ear, “Who wants me to sing 《Paw Patrol is on a Roll》?”
“Why don’t you have Xu Pearl sing the theme song of Peppa Pig?” someone teased.
Xu Heran’s expression turned serious as she corrected the mistake, “Peppa Pig doesn’t have a theme song, thank you.”
“In that case, let Zhuzhu sing the ending song for everyone,” Xin Nuo chuckled, glancing at Xu Heran.
A hint of helplessness flashed in Xu Heran’s blue-purple eyes.
“You can’t team up with others to bully me, sister.”
“Oh~”
Amid laughter, Jian Yueyin stayed on stage to perform a new song she had written called 《If I Were a Transparent Color》
Everyone went offstage to drink water and rest. Lin Weining quickly followed Cui Qi to participate in the live broadcast of 《Voice of the Stars》
Xu Heran handed a water cup to Xin Nuo and then took her own cup from her assistant. She turned and asked, “Has Yueyin never let go of sad songs in her lifetime?”
After drinking her water, Laurel raised an eyebrow and remarked, “I heard that Yueyin’s new hobby is making you sing love songs.”
Xu Heran looked puzzled. What’s wrong with love songs? She had sung them before.
Laurel smiled, “Except for Nuo Nuo.”
Xu Heran: “…”
What’s going on, Yueyin? You’re quite terrifying!
Beside her, Xin Nuo put down her water cup and glanced at Xu Heran.
“That’s definitely impossible!” Xu Heran said firmly, “In the Pearl Family, we cut off romantic feelings before the age of eighteen, so we don’t even know how to sing love songs.”
Xin Nuo chuckled, “So, when you sang with me, the emotions were fake?”
Xu Heran metaphorically hit herself with a stone, her tongue pressing against her canine tooth as she racked her brain.
“…Of course not!” Her gaze wandered around, landing on the screen, her eyes fixed on the scrolling pink text.
“It’s fake for everyone except you.”
“Oh?” Xin Nuo looked at her, an expression of “I’m waiting for your made-up story.”
Xu Heran squinted her eyes and looked at Xin Nuo, “Because you’re my only one.”
Her eyes were bright and serious, her long lashes adorned with delicate white snowflakes, and her blue-purple eyes were like deep oceans, as if vast snow was falling from the sky, drifting down into the embrace of the azure sea.
Xin Nuo’s heart suddenly trembled, caught by her gaze, her heartbeat inexplicably quickening.
She raised her hand, biting the straw of her water cup, lowered her eyelashes, suddenly unsure of how to respond.
“If I were a transparent color, the emotions of loving you would fade away, gently embracing you, because I love you, beyond words.”
“It’s a transparent color.”
Jian Yueyin’s clear voice resonated in the broadcasting room.
In the darkness beneath the stage, two girls stared straight at it, their ears covered by their hair, both blushing.
