Chapter 51.1
“Hello, dear audience friends. Welcome to 《Girl’s Game Workshop》 I’m Pearl Pearl,” Xu Heran said cheerfully to the camera, then handed the virtual microphone to Haya.
“I’m Haya Haya.”
Haya rested her elbow on Xu Heran’s shoulder, and the two chatted with the indoor swimming facilities in the background.
“Why are there only two of us? Probably because our beauty has stirred jealousy among the other members in the team. They’re trying to isolate us!” Haya said and was promptly smacked on the buttocks by Laurel passing by.
Haya immediately waved to the members outside with a cheerful smile, “Take care now.”
“HaYaYa and I form the PearlYa small team, united to take on the Revenge Team! As long as we secure victory in four out of six matches against the other team members, we can ascend the throne as queens!”
“Definitely!”
Haya asked Xu Heran, “Are you confident?”
Xu Heran shouted loudly, “Absolutely!”
“Even if you face Xin Nuo?”
“I can!”
“What if Xin Nuo uses the beauty strategy on you?” Haya raised an eyebrow and asked her.
Xu Heran froze.
Haya continued to press, “Dancing that kind of seductive dance to lure you!”
Xu Heran’s face turned red.
The cameraman quickly shifted the camera away and started filming the floor beneath.
“Hey!” Xu Heran slapped Haya’s shoulder from behind, “You’re talking about me, you damn beauty lover. What if Lin Weining gives you a seductive look? What would you do?”
“What? Is there such a good thing? Then I’d… hehehe,” Haya rubbed her hands together.
Xu Heran joined in rubbing her hands, “Hehehe!”
The director was exasperated, raising the microphone, “You two young ladies, pay attention to your image!”
“I’ll reiterate the rules: each of the six members of the Revenge Team has a token. You must win four games and collect four tokens to achieve victory!”
“Alright~”
The director received a text message from the accompanying director on her phone. She raised her hand, “I announce that the game has officially begun!”
Xu Heran and Haya rushed out.
“Split up!”
The two of the tallest girls in the team high-fived and charged off in different directions.
Haya was the first to reach the indoor water slide.
The water slide was long and winding, like a curvy noodle.
Lin Weining clung to the neck of the inflatable swan, standing at the entrance of the water slide, shivering.
“Don’t come near me!”
Haya put her hands on her hips, looked up, and asked her, “Little sweetheart, where did you stash your token?”
“I won’t give it to you!” Lin Weining shook her head.
Haya lifted her leg, taking two steps at once, and quickly stood in front of Lin Weining.
Lin Weining grimaced, “This is the Revenge Team’s first challenge— the dangerous water slide!”
Haya touched her chin, “You’re a beautiful fairy.”
“Please ask this member not to attempt to deceive the questioner with false compliments; I won’t go easy on her!”
Haya walked over to her side, lifting her hand to gently hook Lin Weining’s chin, “Oh, really?”
“I’m very honest,” the tall girl’s foot hooked a swim ring, and she asked, “Please present the question.”
Lin Weining’s ears turned slightly red, and she calmly said, “My token is hidden within the water slide. You have only three chances. If you fail, then this place is my victory!”
Haya asked her, “Where did you hide it?”
Lin Weining raised her chin proudly.
“Where did you hide it? Let me see.” Haya reached to grab the inflatable swan wedged between Lin Weining’s legs.
“It hasn’t even started yet. You’re not allowed to break the rules.” Lin Weining swatted her hand away.
“Fine, let’s go!”
The water slide could be used either by sitting on the water mat or by sliding down directly in a seated position. Haya intended to try it out first by herself.
At that moment, Lin Weining walked up to her and whispered, “Is this how you want to proceed?”
Haya, who was in preparation, suddenly stopped, and a subtle smile appeared on her lowered face.
“Hmm~ I had that thought.” Haya suddenly stood up, facing Lin Weining directly, “But then I thought, if things go on like this, won’t I be leaving you behind?”
Lin Weining replied earnestly, “I’m the questioner; I don’t need to go down.”
“Come on,” Haya spoke while walking toward Lin Weining, who could only back away. As she retreated, she bumped into something with her lower leg. She lowered her head to look, and it was a mat placed on the platform for sliding down the water slide.
Lin Weining: “…”
“Let’s do it together, kind little fairy, and let me see where you’ve hidden your token, in which mat?”
“…”
“Oops—”
Jiang Qiong froze, raised her hand, pointing toward the indoor swimming area, and asked the cameraman, “Is that Weining’s voice?”
“She lost so quickly?”
Jiang Qiong flipped over in the water and said with a “just as I expected” tone, “Weining is too kind, and she’s being bullied by Haya. Poor child, she hasn’t experienced the world’s harshness yet.”
Her red hair floated in the water. Jiang Qiong hid in the shadow and waited for a moment.
“Where is everyone?”
“Why hasn’t anyone come yet?”
She floated up, leaning on the partition, reaching her hand out to flick water, and shouted, “Come on, people! Come play!”
A stunning figure came running from a distance, followed by another rushing figure. Jiang Qiong’s eyes lit up, and she stretched out her hand, “Xu Pearl, you finally came—”
“Swoosh—”
The beautiful figure vanished with a “whoosh,” and in the air, only a hint of green could be seen.
Jiang Qiong: “…”
Jiang Qiong: “???”
Cameraman: “Hahaha!”
“Xu Heran, get back here!” Jiang Qiong sat up and yelled, “You can only go to the next person’s location if you get my token! I’m the second challenge!”
“Without my token, you won’t even see Xin Nuonuo!”
“Swoosh—”
That streak of green, seemingly from nowhere, appeared. Xu Heran excitedly said, “What are we comparing?”
Jiang Qiong: “…”
“Spit!”
The two doggies rolled their eyes at each other and splashed water.
“Do you see the competition passage behind me?” Jiang Qiong pointed behind her, “Let’s have a competition. The two of us will each peel an egg when we come down the passage, then eat it. Right after landing, we’ll immediately yell into the sound meter. The one with the loudest voice wins!”
Little Pearl nodded with interest, “If I win, I can get the token?”
As if that could happen!
Jiang Qiong said with a mischievous smile, “The token is hidden in the water. If you win against me, you have one minute to search for the token.”
“You have a total of three chances!”
Xu Heran accused, “This is going too far!”
“We’re setting the question. Just follow along!”
Xu Heran: “La la la la la…”
“Do you want to challenge or not”
“Challenge!”
Members of the “Woof Woof” team climbed up while goofing around, finally reaching the competition passage above. Xu Heran looked down, “It’s so high.”
Jiang Qiong trembled and said, “It… yeah, it’s still not too late to give up now.”
“I’m definitely going to beat you!” Xu Heran raised the egg, “Xin Nuonuo, wait for me!”
In the distance, Xin Nuonuo, floating comfortably on the water, didn’t even raise her head. She was flipping through the water park brochure in her hands.
“Ah!”
“Haha, hahaha!”
“Ah—”
In the passage, two shadows rapidly descended—one shouting wildly, the other laughing heartily. Xu Heran’s palm tightened, her arm’s veins bulging. With a “pop” sound, she crushed the boiled egg, peeled off the shell, and shoved the entire egg into her mouth.
“Mmm, mmm, mmm!”
“Thump!”
Xu Heran and Jiang Qiong landed one after the other. The director, holding the sound meter, quickly approached. Little Pearl was almost choking, patting her chest and loudly shouting into the sound meter.
“Where’s Jiang Xiaoqiong!” Xu Heran asked, turning excitedly. She saw Jiang Qiong lying in the passage, pretending to be dead.
“I think I ate the eggshell, and it’s scratching my teeth.” Jiang Qiong said with a bit of grievance.
“It’s fine, you’re getting calcium.” Xu Heran consoled her, “I won!”
Petty Jiang Xiaoqiong said, “Fine, let’s count it as you winning then.”
“Why did I agree to play this game?”
Xu Heran began to search for the token that Jiang Qiong had hidden around. Jiang Qiong stood up, sipped water, and looked at her triumphantly.
“Where did you hide it?” Little Pearl shouted angrily.
“Hehe, I won’t tell you~” Petty Jiang Xiaoqiong smirked.
“This is unbelievable! I already won!”
“It can be like this, oh Sir~”
A minute passed, and Xu Heran still had no idea what the token looked like. She placed her hands on her hips and said to Jiang Qiong, “I can’t find it, so you’ll have to eat two more eggshells!”
Jiang Qiong: “…”
Well… that seems to be the case.
At this moment, Haya and Lin Weining walked over. The two of them stood outside the facility.
“Are you up for it, Little Pearl?” Haya raised her hand, her fingertips hooking onto a pendant. The pendant was a wooden tile with the character “少” from “少女遊戲工坊” (Girl’s Game Workshop).
Lin Weining reached out to grab it, but Haya, quick as lightning, swiftly pulled it back.
“Some people can’t handle losing.”
Lin Weining huffed in frustration and turned her head.
“Isn’t this style?” Xu Heran nodded, telling Haya, “Jiang Xiaoqiong likes to eat eggshells.”
“You’re the one who likes it! Let’s compete again!”
“Hehe.” Xu Heran and Jiang Qiong held onto the eggs again and started climbing up. As Xu Heran climbed, she looked around and suddenly saw a hanging wooden tile in the passage that Jiang Qiong had slid down earlier.
“Wow, Jiang Xiaoqiong is a cunning strategist!” Xu Heran exclaimed immediately.
“Pff, pff, pff, this is called strategy, don’t you understand!”
Xu Heran rushed ahead of Jiang Qiong and occupied the passage. “This time, victory is definitely mine.”
The two descended from the passage, and indeed, Xu Heran got the token.
“Got it, mmm-hmm!”
Xu Heran raised the wooden tile and shouted.
Behind her, Jiang Qiong, who had also eaten some eggshell, wiped her mouth and exchanged a glance with Lin Weining.
Woof woof tried their best! Woof woof couldn’t do it!
Lin Weining nodded, I understand!
The four of them headed towards the remaining four locations.
Laurel sat in the resting area in a spinning motion, holding an ice cream cone and wearing yellow-tinted sunglasses.
“What’s up?” Jiang Qiong asked her, “Both Xin Nuonuo and I lost.”
Laurel sincerely said, “I want to go home and sleep.”
“I want to as well, so why not just give me your stuff?” Xu Heran asked with a smile.
Laurel waved her finger.
“I’m going to find Nuonuo, isn’t winning four rounds enough?” Xu Heran said. Laurel raised her hand, making a “please” gesture.
Haya also intended to try something simple in the remaining games. The four of them bought ice cream from a roadside cart and strolled inside, eating as they went.
“Xiao Fenghua~” The five of them waved at Song Fenghua, “How do we play your game?”
The location Song Fenghua had chosen was called “Happy Forward Rush.” They had to navigate through obstacles and reach a designated point within a specified time. Song Fenghua had also added a twist: they had to learn a dance routine from her first and then perform it again after reaching the designated point to win.
The five of them bit into their ice creams, silent.
“… Is it difficult?” Song Fenghua asked in a low voice.
“It’s, uh, manageable.” Xu Heran looked around, scratched her head, “So, I’ll leave this to you, Haya, and I’ll go take a look!”
As the five of them moved forward and then retreated, Director Liu, who had been following them, appreciated the location Song Fenghua had chosen for a moment. Her eyes lit up. “It’s really good. In the future, we could develop a project together for it.”
Only then did Song Fenghua nod, holding her ice cream and catching up with everyone’s footsteps.
“Where’s Nuonuo?” Xu Heran asked.
“Nuonuo is right beside me.” Jian Yueyin smiled and said, “Want to compete with me? It’s quite simple. Just stand in place and sing.”
“Victory requires a score of 95 or higher.”
Xu Heran and Haya’s eyes brightened, and they quickly looked in the direction her fingers pointed.
“如臨海嘯” (“As If Facing a Roaring Sea”).
“Wow!”
A cascade of water suddenly fell, its momentum resembling galaxies descending from the ninth sky!
“… Yinyin, do you sing too?” Haya asked.
Jian Yueyin nodded with a smile.
“Bravo!” Xu Heran gave her a thumbs up and patted Haya, “It’s your turn!”
“Hey! I’m the lead dancer!” Haya’s words were cut short as Xu Heran joyfully dashed toward the adjacent facility.
Children’s Game Hall.
Xu Heran scratched her head.
“Nuonuo?”
In the shallow water area, Xin Nuo sat in a pool ring, drifting gently along the water current. She opened her eyes when she heard Xu Heran’s voice, looking groggy.
“You’re here?”
“Did you get the token? Where are the others?” She covered her mouth, stifling a yawn, a mist of water instantly filling her eyes.
Xu Heran squatted by the edge of the pool, using her hand to skim the water. “I got Jiang Xiaoqiong’s. Everyone else is behind.”
“Mhm.” Xin Nuo placed her hands on her abdomen lazily and said, “So, are you going to participate in my game?”
“It’s quite simple. You don’t need to do any other games. I’ve already hidden the token somewhere here. You have a total of three minutes. Once three minutes pass, the outcome is decided.”
“Only one chance. Let me know when you’re ready to start,” Xin Nuo said again, closing her eyes.
Xu Heran sat down, her fair legs swaying in the water.
This children’s area was not small in size. The deep-water area wasn’t as deep as the adult section, but the water was filled with colorful balls. Xu Heran randomly picked up one, gave it a slight twist, and split it open in the middle. The size was just right to fit a wooden token inside.
Xu Heran: “…”
Seeing Xin Nuo so relaxed, it was hard not to think that she simply stuffed the token into a ball and tossed it randomly!
Little Pearl stared suspiciously at Xin Nuo. “Do you really know where the token is?”
It was already evening, and there were shelters over the facilities in the children’s area, so it wasn’t sunny. Xin Nuo closed her eyes, floating on the water, lightly laughing.
“Want to take a guess?”
“… Can you give me a couple more minutes?” Little Pearl pleaded.
Xin Nuo raised her hand and shook it.
Little Pearl: “…”
“Then I request that you start timing after I get into the water and prepare!” Xu Heran had just finished speaking when a scream of distress came from the neighboring area where Haya was.
Xin Nuo opened her left eye. “Considering this is my territory, I agree.”
The sixteen-year-old kid pouted, “Plop,” jumped into the water, creating splashes around. Some of the colorful balls were washed onto the shore by the water and then rolled back lazily.
Xu Heran withdrew her gaze and swam over to Xin Nuo’s pool ring.
“Can’t you give me just a tiny hint, like pointing a direction?”
Xin Nuo said lazily, “Why didn’t you just let me give it to you directly?”
“Can I?” Xu Heran asked with a playful smile.
Xin Nuo raised her hand and grabbed a pool ring, smashing it onto Xu Heran’s head.
Xu Pearl placed a pool ring next to Xin Nuo, climbed onto it, and the two of them lay together, basking in the sunset.
“Ah… so comfortable,” Xu Heran closed her eyes.
When Haya arrived with the rest of the group in a hurry, she saw this peaceful scene of tranquility, and her anger surged uncontrollably.
“Xu Pearl! I’ve been working hard outside, fighting for tokens in the games, and here you are, just sleeping!”
The two figures on the water were awakened by the commotion, and they opened their eyes.
“Ahaha—” Xu Heran stretched lazily, “Did you manage to get one?”
Haya triumphantly extended her hand, showing Xu Heran the two wooden tokens in her hand.
“Awesome!” Xu Heran gave a thumbs up.
“Nuo Nuo, you’re the last one! You’re our last hope!” Lin Weining shouted loudly, “Haya only beat Laurel, Fenghua, and Yueyin!”
Xin Nuo let out a sound and looked at Xu Heran.
“Ready to start?”
After squinting her eyes for a moment, fully energized Xu Heran jumped into the water.
“Start!”
“Go, Xu Pearl! Our future is in your hands!”
“Whether we can form a harmonious household is all up to you! Pearl’s happiness depends on Pearl herself!” Haya shouted loudly.
“You’re all so noisy!” The girls from the Revenge Team tossed Haya into the water.
Xu Heran frantically searched through the balls and twisted them. The director held the timer and shouted, “Two minutes remaining.”
“Ah, ah, ah, go for it!”
The girls from the Revenge Team cheered and waved flags.
“Xu Pearl!” Haya was becoming impatient.
“There are just too many!” Xu Pearl was getting frantic twisting the balls. “I can’t find it at all, and these balls aren’t transparent, so I can’t tell if they have anything inside.”
Haya was getting anxious, “Is it really hidden among these balls?”
The girls on the shore nodded, “I think so.”
“If it’s me, I would have done it already!”
Haya: …
Indeed.
Xu Heran threw aside the opened balls, wiped her face, looked around, and as the director’s “one minute” prompt sounded, her eyes met Xin Nuo’s. They were dark, bright, carrying a hint of irrepressible teasing and leisurely contentment.
Little Pearl: …
“Xu Pearl!” Haya shouted loudly.
In the crucial last minute, Xu Heran suddenly asked Xin Nuo, “Sis, why have you been staying on the pool ring?”
Xin Nuo raised an eyebrow and lazily responded, “Of course, it’s comfortable.”
“Oh, is that so?” Xu Heran swung her legs and, in the blink of an eye, was next to Xin Nuo. Amid the wary gazes of the other girls, she placed her hand on the center of Xin Nuo’s fair thigh.
Her slender fingers lightly grazed the wet skin, then fastened around Xin Nuo’s ankle.
The drenched girl blinked her blue-purple eyes and gently said, “If it’s so comfortable, I’d like to try.”
While speaking softly, her actions were decisive. Without hesitation, she pulled Xin Nuo off the pool ring.
“Ah!”
The bulging pool ring toppled over, and a green ball emerged from the middle of it.
“Nuo Nuo, stop her!”
“Nuo Nuo, do you want to act cute and flirt with Xu Pearl? You must stop her!” The Revenge Team girls shouted.
Xin Nuo wiped her face and embraced Xu Heran’s waist to prevent her from moving forward.
“I’m stopping her!”
“Bite her, Nuo Nuo!” The Revenge Team members strategized, watching Xu Heran and Xin Nuo head toward the direction of the ball.
Haya applauded loudly, “Great job, Pearl! Capture it, and from now on, we call the shots in this household!”
“Nuo Nuo!”
Jiang Qiong shouted in alarm, “Flirt with her!”
The memory of Xin Nuo being “betrayed” by Xu Heran when they were acting cute together flashed through her mind, causing Xin Nuo to grit her teeth with some bitterness. “Xu Heran, you’re not allowed to win!”
Xu Heran smiled playfully, “Well, that won’t do.”
“And there are twenty seconds left!” The director laughed and shouted.
“Nuo Nuo—”
“Go, Nuo Nuo!”
The Revenge Team girls watched the intense struggle in the water with a hard-to-bear expression. In order to stop Xu Heran, Xin Nuo coiled around her, her body pressing against Xu Heran’s, and one of her hands reached out to grab Xu Heran’s hand that was holding the green ball.
“Oh~ here.” Xu Heran felt the weight of the ball and smiled, “My beauty, are you ready to serve me?”
Xin Nuo: …
“Don’t even think about it!”
The girl who had just relaxed inserted her fingers into Xu Heran’s palm and tried to pull the green ball out. However, she couldn’t compare to Xu Pearl’s persistence in training, and the naturally stronger strength of her fingers.
“Ten seconds!”
The Revenge Team girls on the shore were anxious, and Jian Yueyin raised her hand, “Bite her ear!”
“Tickle her!”
Haya shook her head repeatedly, “That’s too ruthless!”
In the water, Xin Nuo’s pitch-black eyes stared at Xu Heran, observing the smug smile in the girl’s eyes. A surge of anger rose within her. She slightly opened her mouth and bit towards Xu Heran’s nose.
Xu Heran remained still, only her right hand tightly holding the green ball while her left hand tried to pull away Xin Nuo’s hand.
This Pearl!
Xin Nuo grew even more frustrated. Amidst the director’s countdown, she gritted her teeth. She pursed her lips, lifted her head, and aimed for Xu Heran’s lips.
Drip, drop.
Water from Xu Heran’s forehead fell onto Xin Nuo’s face. Both girls widened their eyes, gazing at each other.
“One!”
The director shouted, “Time’s up!”
Xu Heran pulled out Xin Nuo’s stiff fingers, placed her palm on Xin Nuo’s back, lifted her head, and observed Xin Nuo’s expression.
“Um… thanks?” Xu Heran said softly.
With her back turned to the crowd’s noise on the shore, she leaned down again, kissed the corner of Xin Nuo’s mouth, and smiled.
“You’re welcome.”
“Um.”
Jian Yueyin looked at Song Fenghua.
“Well…”
Song Fenghua glanced at Lin Weining.
“Uh.”
Lin Weining played with her fingers, casting a sidelong glance at Xin Nuo, who had her eyes closed and a cold expression.
“Are you okay…” She whispered, “It’s just a game. She just accidentally… bumped into you.”
Jian Yueyin and Song Fenghua nodded.
“Between two girls, a kiss—” Lin Weining’s voice was cut off by Xin Nuo’s cold gaze as she looked over, “Accidentally bumped into, it’s nothing.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Jian Yueyin nodded, “Variety shows, variety shows are more daring, letting loose, releasing your other side!”
Xin Nuo: …
“I don’t have that side.”
Song Fenghua smiled and asked her, “Really?”
The girl with purple hair “swooshed” her gaze to the outside of the car, leaving their ears burning red.
Song Fenghua lowered her eyelashes and pinched her fingers.
In the front seat, Haya patted Xu Heran’s shoulder forcefully.
“I’m going to get slapped high and low!” Xu Heran said discontentedly.
“Wow, Xiao Pearl, you’re really amazing!” Haya said excitedly, “If I had your skills, would I still be single up to now?”
Cui Qi, the co-pilot, turned her head vigilantly. She had been dealing with work in the car the whole time and hadn’t gotten out. She noticed that Xu Heran and Xin Nuo were sitting apart in the car, and Xin Nuo’s expression wasn’t good. She was sure that Xu Heran had provoked Xin Nuo again!
“What do you mean by ‘still be single up to now’?” Cui Qi narrowed her eyes, her sharp gaze shifting between Haya and Xu Heran, “Hmm?”
Haya immediately chuckled, “Nothing, just that Pearl is really good at talking and makes everyone like her!”
“It’s better to be like that.” Cui Qi’s tone contained a warning. With reluctance, she turned around and continued with her work.
Haya breathed a sigh of relief and gave a meaningful look to Xu Heran.
Xu Heran raised her hand, touched her lips, and her ears turned slightly red. She coughed and turned around, whispering, “Everyone saw, right? It was Xin Nuo who made the first move… with her mouth!”
Laurel in the back seat: “…”
“It’s not my fault, right? She can’t blame me, can she?”
Jiang Qiong: “…”
“If the person holding Xin Nuo in the back isn’t Xu Heran, then it definitely has nothing to do with you.” Jiang Qiong revealed a mysterious smile, “Little Pearl, tell me, why did you kiss Nuo Nuo for the second time?”
Xu Heran blushed, “That wasn’t a kiss, it was just returning the favor!”
“And besides, we’re both girls, what’s wrong with a little kiss?”
Haya: “Exactly!”
Jiang Qiong immediately put on a “Oh yes, exactly” expression.
“Hard work for post-editing.” Laurel clasped her hands together, “Let the magic of post-production work its wonders!”
At this moment, Cui Qi, who had been eavesdropping in the front row, turned around in anger.
“Xu Heran! What do you mean by what you’re saying? Who did you kiss? Did you kiss Xin Nuo? Are you crazy? Where did you kiss Xin Nuo?”
Xu Heran put on a carefree smile, turned around, and pressed her hand downward, “Calm down, please ask questions one by one.”
“Xu Heran!”
Cui Qi felt like she couldn’t handle this day anymore. The first thing she did after getting off the car was to find Director Xiao Liu. She deleted the video of Xu Heran and Xin Nuo’s “accidental” mouth-to-mouth, twice!
There were way too many fans of Peng Ran Xin, and if this wasn’t dealt with, it would become a frenzy!
